This type of accommodation is designed to accommodate mine workers overflow. The rooms are small, dated and the shower cubicle and toilet are dirty. The room rates include meals in the on site dry mess/canteen. All meals are buffet style, including soft drinks, desert, salad bar, tea& coffee. Eat and pack your lunch box as much as you like. The village had a well equipped gym, nice pool and other sporting facilities + free laundromat. The car park is outside the complex and you will have to schlep your luggage up to 200m for the car to the room. Can be a problem for unfit seniors.

Good value for the Northwest. The bed was a bit hard but you can put up with that. Clean and comfortable all amenities, Shower ,Toilet, TV, Air conditioning, Breakfast and dinner meals included at the mess. Excellent food selection. You can be provided with a crib (meal) if you wanted to. Mobile reception is limited inside the rooms as they are solid metal walls but okay outside.

Considering how well presented the gardens are I was disappointed with the room. It may be because I was allocated an accessible/disable room that potentially isn't used frequently - but the room was dirty. On entering greeted by rather large spiders, one which takes residence in the cupboard by the door. The corners of the room and skirting boards dirty and have cobwebs. The kettle doesn't fit in the sink, have to fill it up in the shower. No sugar or teaspoons to make with a coffee. I couldn't get the free to air TV to work, I logged into my own stan account. Other than that, grateful for the free wifi as I couldn't get telstra reception in the room, and the easy check-in. Probably won't stay again if I have to pay $200 a night. If the cost reflected the quality I'd consider staying for a stop over.

Broome to Perth, great over nighter, had 2 rooms . 1st room...twin large king singles, large disabled en-suite. 2nd room...double bed, small en suite. Nothing flash but both clean, kettle tea coffee, bar fridge. Food at cafeteria out back key card access, was a good feed, breakfast at 5.30 and packed lunch for the road...good value.

I have stayed in multiple accommodations in the Pilbara and know the expectations are different. But I was still disappointed with outback travel centre. The room I stayed in was dark and dingy, the bed very low. I had hassles with the booking being charged for a meals package ($93.50 a night ) which I neither asked for or received. I requested a queen bed and got a "king" single. The room did not have the basic facilities such as coffee making or toaster. The tv took 10 minutes to get working. The facilities here are like any other mine camp, gym, golf putting, sports courts, pool ( not finished) but was not hold if or how we access it. All in all, disappointed and will not return.

I stayed here overnight on my two day drive from Perth to Broome. For $135 I got a clean and tidy single with comfortable bed and good quality linen (sheets and towels). The rooms are reasonably new with a split air-conditioner, flat screen TV and Foxtel - this makes the price all the more remarkable (and more especially in Newman). NB: On my previous trip south I'd stayed in a Roadhouse donga for $110 which was simply the pits! I had a meal in the Capricorn Bar & Grill which has 8 beers on tap, an extensive menu and inside and outside (on pretend grass) seating. My "Roadkill" Pizza was most acceptable and really the only downside of this place was the incredible volume of the music! I would definitely stay at this place again.

Never stayed anywhere in the world that doesn't provide tea and coffee until this place. Also the free wifi is NOT in the rooms! Was just advised by the roadhouse staff I'd have to pay or sit in their dining area to get wifi. Wish I'd booked elsewhere.

The first motel with no coffee making in 40 years of traveling. Also only half a roll of toilet paper and very noisy air con.
Unfortunately we were there for two nights. No-one touched the room or made the bed in between.
I suggest you stay almost anywhere in Newman rather than this place.

Location 4 Located about 18 km south of Newman. Good if travelling through but not really suitable if you want to stay in Newman itself. Sleep Quality 4 Bed was very firm and also on wheels so did tend to move when you sat on one side of the bed. Rooms 4 Basic but functional room in “mining camp” arrangement. No tea and coffee or cups or milk but had jug which could not fit under tap. No toiletries (even though booking confirmation said there would be). No soap holder in the shower. The shower screen also leaked on to the floor. Plenty of space with desk and chair. Service 3 At check in the staff member did not know what to do and had to keep asking other staff. We were not told about the food package and when we did take the “crib package” we were not given any writtern details or menus, etc as to what it offered. This caused confusion that night at dinner and the next morning at breakfast. Value 4 For the room the price was acceptable for the location and based on other accommodation in the area. As far as the “crib package” it only rated a 2. Order from the menu as it works out cheaper than the crib package. Cleanliness 3 Hair on shower floor, soap scum on the shower screen. There was also an orange tinge to the floor which based on the location is acceptable but the floor still needed to be cleaned better. Overall 3 Average accommodation at a reasonable cost.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Nice pool. Small room. Comfy bed. Full of miners, one other family. Free laundry but the detergent didn't really work. Could look after the playground better because it had cobwebs and leaves that snakes could be hiding under. Had to ask for soap for my toilet.
