Really good beach access and trail heads for those who like to hike. If you get a spot in the middle of the grounds, there doesn't seem to be a limit on the number of tents you can have(think group site). Stickers on the site were terrible though-big drawback.

I can't really say it any better than Shena did, but I feel the need to reiterate the message. We are avid campers. We are good, conscientious, family campers and we have never felt more unwelcomed in a campground, ever. The campground is constantly patrolled by rangers, and we were threatened with tickets multiple times. To be clear, you are...

Make advance reservations. It's about a 5 mile drive in on dirt road off HiWay 101. Look for Davidson Rd a few miles north of Orick, CA. Fewer than 30 sites near the beach. Potable water and flush toilets. Showers are there but we did not try them. The beach is steps away yet the camp sites are pretty sheltered....

We went on a four day hike and drive trip and this was one if the most peaceful quiet places I have been in the U.S. We went early May and we were the second vehicle in the campground, the tent was practically on the beach. It was self pay, close proximity to some awesome walks and a loooong beach...

Beware of the FOREST RANGERS paroling all day. It is a crumb free site area so if you have a cooler that is not put in the storage container or you are preparing a meal and step foot off of the campsite to run to the restrooms you will get a ticket. Me and my family had 3 campsites and...

Beautiful scenery cold shower. Rough road getting there but very doable. There is nothing really close by except for a small store in Orick so make sure you have everything you need before going. And make sure that you do the hike down to Fern Canyon which was amazing

Long drive down a dusty road to get there, lots of burs, but a beautiful set up- huge sites fairly private while open to the beach. We were choosing between Clam Beach and this one, clam beach was just campstalls in a rest stop basically so Gold Bluffs was the winner for sure!

You are practically on the beach here and you fall asleep listening to the ocean. The fog is nuts, and watching it roll in and out is a neat experience. The road to this campground is a bit rough around the edges but so worth it. I will definitely be back here.

This place was magical. I can't believe I got so lucky as to find this place purely by accident during a pacific coast highway trip a couple of years ago. I vowed to be back when I had time to camp. My daughter and I came back this year and what. A happy surprise. In addition to being able to...

I really didn't know what to expect here, but had read rave reviews of this place. When I saw they were now accepting reservations, I booked it for two nights. The campground in directly on the beach, so you can see and hear the ocean. There really aren't any trees in the campground, but the sites are separated by small...

“Tips. For quiet hours after 11PM. And food left out. Too loud includes quiet guitar playing and quiet singing, and you are not allowed any food left out not being prepared in the moment, Careful, because the Rangers can shut you down if you don't comply. Also, they ticket if you park in the wrong place. *Tips. For Fern Canyon, take a SUV/pick up truck to drive to the canyon's entrance. If you have a smaller car, you should walk from camp. There are streams and dips in the road that only a bigger car (not low to the ground and good shocks) can handle. Also, drive slowly up the mountain to camp. There are many potholes. *The temperature is 10--20 degrees less that the online weather report. Account for rolling fog and moisture, and somewhat chilly winds. I think July/August might be the best time to go...”
