Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel needs a bit of updating, but I really think it was charming. It was on a noisy street, but they can't help that. We had an early flight so turned in the rental car early. They sent a taxi for us because they don't have their own shuttle service. It came quickly. We asked where we might get dinner, and they gave us a printed list. That was really convenient. We chose a Thai restaurant about 3 blocks away, and the food was delicious. The area was quite ethnic and charming, so we wandered around the stores for a while. We went back to the hotel early, for we had to take a cab back at 5 a.m. The cab was there as promised. Would I stay again. Absolutely. By my standards it is expensive, but the convenience to the airport was worth it.

Stayed at this location for 8 days, free parking, wifi breakfast, airport cab. Generally is was ok, but needs some finishing touches, bathroom sink doesn't hold water. The curtains were ripped from top to bottom on 2 of the 4 windows. Regardless of where your room is, the street noise or the airport side, there is a LOT of intermittent noise. Either motorcycles and loud cars or airliners taking off. Free breakfast is minimal, but free. Wifi was very good. Spent over fifteen hundred dollars and they wanted to charge me to print my boarding pass. They eventually relented but it is an ignorant policy when all the other amenities are free.

So after returning from a reunion dinner, we get into bed, only to smell something untoward. We put on the lights to discover fecal matter on the sheets. See the pictures enclosed. There’s no other room available and thankfully we have a 2 beds in this room. So we slept in the other bed, still uncomfortable of the thought. I cannot express the disgust we feel at this very moment.

From the moment I arrived, I knew something was amiss. Despite the high reviews here(?!), this hotel is tired, dirty, dingy, and gross. Unless you like 90s Vegas bordello decor. Went to my room, and my room was dirty -- i'm talking worn furniture, dirty drapes, and the white fluorescent lighting. Felt like I was in eastern europe. The remote to the aircon hadn't been cleaned in months --- crusty dirty. And there was a loud 30-40 decibel noise in the room, even with A/C off. Immediately I went down the front desk and asked to be moved to another room. They told me they were sold out and couldn't offer another room. So I was forced to refuse service and told them I couldn't stay there. The next morning the manager refused to provide us a refund despite our coordinating thru

Over the last year I've stayed at the Villa Montes Hotel twice and really enjoyed it. However in trying to book for October, 2019 I found the rates had gone up, there's a great emphasis on "non-refundable." I had trouble signing in to my account (I think I had this problem last time too) and so called. After going through a maze of robot voices I finally got to someone who insisted that I talk to someone else who wanted to offer stays in Las Vegas, etc. (Come on, I'm trying to reserve a room in a city I want to go to.) At one point I got to a pricing page and in addition to the $220/night there was a $200 tax + fee thing. Of course I booked somewhere else. What a shame, why mess up a good hotel with all this ancillary garbage marketing???

We really enjoyed our stay. Easy to find, uniquely but tastefully decorated, well appointed hotel not far from the airport. Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was good and very convenient. Wished we were staying longer.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Small and beautiful. Excellent service. Within a mile from the Car rental return center at the San Francisco Airport. If I remember the name of the hotel I will stay here again to catch my early morning flights.

We booked this room online with a discount code. It was just an overnight stay so we could avoid having to drive through NASCAR traffic in Sonoma. We didn't expect much bu WOW were we suprised. Quiet hotel, very "boutique", clean, comfortable bed, Bath and Body Works amenities, and super helpful desk staff. The manager on Saturday June 22nd gave us a fantastic restaurant recommendation. If we ever have to stay over near SFO again, this will be our first choice, always.

This hotel is old and tired. The beds and linens were terrible, the bed should have been replaced years ago! Breakfast is laughable even for a Continental breakfast. It consisted of stale bagels, sweet rolls wrapped in plastic, and cold coffee. The worst of all was the attitude of the people working at the front desk. They clearly could care less about their customer, the people working in the breakfast room were not much better. It was as if they were doing you a favor by simple being on the property. The only good thing about this hotel is its location. You can walk to several markets, restaurants, and coffee shops.
