OK...I am amused at how diametrically opposed the reviews of this hotel are. The glowing reports are suspect, it being possible that those with vested interests in good reviews can write such anonymously. But tastes are subjective and the Villa Rosa has funky appeal to those willing to overlook commonly accepted innkeeping standards. Anyway, unless major renovations are undertaken and...

Our first room (#5) had a "queen size" bed that was actually just a double bed, and the toilet ran off and on all night, very noisy. We switched to a room with a king size bed the next day (#10), and discovered the next morning that the shower knob didn't work so we had to take baths, and then...

My husband and I stayed at this inn for the first time this weekend for two nights. We had a great room with a balcony that had an ocean view. Here are my PROS and CONS for this inn: PROS: Great location, one block from beach and Stearns Wharf. You can hear the waves at night late at night as...

I booked this place based on a recommendation of a friend. I really trust her and this was the first time she steered me wrong. I suspect she has not visited here in many years and it has fallen into disrepair. It was overpriced, light bulbs were missing from fixtures and there were holes in the walls that needed repair....

This is a hotel in a great location with a BEAUTIFUL pool and hot tub. The rooms were okay and the beds comfortable, but a bit shabby. Thin carpets; dull colors - not a great room, but more than adequate. The breakfast was below average - no different than a Holiday Inn. They had a do-it-yourself waffle maker, fruit, cereal,...

Hotel needs significant amounts spent on it. Bedroom door did not lock. Strong smell of drains. Flooring in bedroom dirty. Windows did not shut. Bathroom door was sticky with dirt. Shower disappointing. Breakfast service was rude. Convenient location and could be a gem but currently a dud.

The Villa Rosa Inn has some real pluses and a couple of minuses. We had a nice room overlooking the pool. However, the room did not have A/C. Apparently this is normally not much of an issue in Santa Barbara, but it was unusually warm during our stay. So we made good use of the fans and slept with the...

I am writing this review to WARN anyone considering staying at this dilapidated, unsafe and unsanitary DUMP that is called the Villa Rose Inn, Santa Barbara. The rooms and surrounding areas of the Inn were filthy. Items in the room were either broken or not working at all. 1. There was insufficient lighting; the main source of light, a standing...

The photos on line do not represent the current conndition of this hotel. The entire outside is in need of paint and repair. Weeds are growing between the tiles in the courtyard area and the landscaping, in general, is unkept. As you step in the main entrance you are met with dirty burgundy carpet on the stair case and old,...

This was a wonderful place with charm, it was not the Hilton, but that wasn't what we were looking for. I wanted a small friendly place. Very romantic place. Just across the street from the beach. Breakfast was much more then expected.
