The architect and decorator really did a fantastic job taking a former 5 story motel/hotel with outside corridor into a hip, nicely decorated hotel. I love the earthiness of the decorations, dispersed with modern amenities and use of "recycled" items throughout. I did not check prices of other hotels as we are Marriott members, but I think this is on...

My wife and I stayed one night at the Paradox and loved it. The service was excellent and the accommodations we great as well. We really liked the fun and contemporary design of the building. We ate in the Solaire restaurant at the hotel which was also unique and we'll prepared.

Got this hotel through a Priceline Express Deal at a very good rate. Surprised to learn that it is in the Marriott family. Offered a choice of room floors and allocated a room on the top floor. Rooms are not large but are delightly furnished with all mod cons and very clean. Does not let the Marriott brand down. Highly...

Was on business trip and husband tagged along. I loved the great customer service and quick response that they had which is important on business trips. He had a great time exploring the neighborhood while I was at work. They have bikes you can use to explore. Will be back. Better experience than I've had at other places that cost...

This is another very nice autograph collection hotel from Marriott. Really nice rooms and restaurant here. Great breakfast served in the restaurant, though if you are looking for complimentary snacks or dining or anything else because of your Marriott status you can forget that.

Hotel Paradox is a paradox. Nice rooms for sleeping but park across the way is full of homeless sleeping. Parking lot is large but half is blocked off with cones. Dinning room looks nice but closed for private party. Coffee machine is Illy but it is silly loud, wakes not only the sleeping but the dead. Elevator is slow so...

Cannot say enough good things about the restaurant manager, Mark, who was personable and attentive despite working many long hours. Superb drinks from bar. the hotel does not feature...

We spent 2 nights at the Paradox. It is a short walk from the main shopping district of Santa Cruz if you go through the park. The rooms are a decent size, recently renovated and the bathrooms are lovely. The staff keep the hotel immaculately clean.

We normally stay at the Dream Inn (which we also love), but they are currently remodeling their pool (December 2016). Our family of 4 loved staying at the Hotel Paradox, and really enjoying the heated pool and large hot tub. We would definitely stay there again.

A great location (walk from the park behind the hotel to the Pacific Garden Mall) and very close to the ocean, and a pleasant spot to sleep. The rooms are small, however well-equiped and clean with an entrance from an outdoor hall. The back of the hotel overlooks a park. The hotel's decor was inspired by an intrinsic eccentricity such...
