I have stayed at many Fairmont Hotels and this was by far one of the best I have seen by the beach! Located right in downtown Santa Monica, it is walking distance to easily explore the shopping and eating the city has to offer. The...More
Stayed at this hotel for a conference. It is "across" from the beach if you want to traverse down the hill, across the PCH, then walk about 1/4 mile to the water.

Olya the bartender gave the best service today I couldn't have asked for better!! She definitely deserves a raise for her exceptional service!! Remember to request her personally when you go to the bar!!!

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.

The Palisades room is larger and more European so that is just a preference (We liked it for size but the Signature is more modern). Not much noise if you are away from the elevator hall traffic. Tip: Call the front desk to ensure things are the way you want them either a day before or as soon as you check in at the hotel. If a light sleeper, bring the eye masks and earmuffs!
