The hotel is old and a bit outdated but clean and comfy. Our room was a bit dark with drapes drawn and all the lights on. The staff was friendly, and helpful. Too bad they don't offer free breakfast like other hotels in the area for a similar price. However they did provide a frig in the room but no... More

Stayed in room 214 with two double beds because it was the cheapest rate on trip advisor. Room was fairly nice. Clean. Iron and portable ironing board hidden under the refrigerator. No microwave. Personal coffee maker with super weak coffee. Single pane windows facing out on a covered walkway, so you do get a noise from the outside. The walkway... More

The rooms were nice just lacking small touches to make it a better place. Towels were cheap and not enough bedding supplies for the large room we had for a family. Plumbing issues in our room with this LOUD sound coming from the wall when the water was turned on. The pool area was great.

This is a motel. This means that when you walk out your door you're outside. I may have missed this in the photos but my expectations of a "resort" were not met. The room was updated but it was still cold and not as modern as expected.

It was dark when we first drove up. Upon opening the door to the room, we drew in a breath of excitement and relief. A beautifully updated, designer room awaited us! It was spotless and smelled wonderful. A backdrop of Mountains spotted the view as fog misted the gorgeous golf course our room overlooked. This hotel was priced right, and... More

Hotel is older but nicely remodeled. We were visiting relatives in Santee and I would not recommend staying at any of the other hotels in Santee or El Cajon. Safe neighborhood. The room has a weird layout. Bed is comfortable, nice lines. Did not try pool or bar/lounge. You are close enough to Mission Gorge that takes you to many... More

Really great find! Ashlyn helped me in making a reservation. Very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to have her check us in as well. Joy was also at the desk and was very sweet. Great great staff! The room was clean, updated. Love the sliding barn door for the bathroom - very classy! Lots of storage in bathroom.... More

My husband and I golfed and stayed here. All very pleasant. Rooms facing the driving range are good but so are the ones that appear to face the parking lot. There are lots of trees so the view of the cars is masked. Rooms are totally updated and very clean. They've done a good job on an older building. Great... More

I love the golf course at Carlton Oaks. It's one of the best kept secrets in San Diego. It's a little inland, which is why it's such a hidden gem. Rates are decent, and I've always had good course conditions. The restaurant and bar has good food, at reasonable prices, with friendly service. I've never stayed in the lodge, but... More
