We are originally from the area and were back for an emergency situation with family. Hotels were hard to come by for our short and last minute stay, but we managed to get a room here. Carrie (the lady at the front desk with long hair and glasses) was by far the most helpful and friendly hotel clerk I have...

The building is beautiful, service was very good but the room with a king size bed was so small and the set up was uncomfortable. You enter the room to small foyer with a mini fridge, clothes rack, drawers with a TV on it, and a single chair. If you wanted to watch TV alone, you could do so in...

The location is perfect after a day sightseeing, its right on the main street so great for walking to the bars and restaurants. The staff were welcoming on arrival. The room was very small and not at all what I expected from the photos, it was dated (not in a nice old fashioned way), the air con unit was incredibly...

We needed overnight lodging near the Sierras (skiing at Dodge Ridge, specifically) and chose the Sonora Inn because of it's proximity to cute downtown Sonora. (It's at the junction of the two major roads, so it is the heart of historic Sonora.) The room (2 queen beds) was as far from the registration desk as possible (up a creaky but...

It is an easy walk to shops and restaurants on the same two lane main street. Large, well functioning wall TV. Standard continental juice, muffins, cereal; coffee, tea, and hard boiled egg breakfast. Funky old fashioned elevator as well as stairs. Two patios for outdoor sitting. Free parking behind hotel in their sister motel's lot. Helpful desk staff always evident....

Located in downtown Sonora, this small hotel is an excellent way to soak up Gold Country ambience without sacrificing comfort. The lobby and breakfast room (a rather minimal continental breakfast is included in the room rate) are beautifully decorated; I particularly enjoyed several ornate old telephones in the lobby. The rooms also have nice period features, but unlike some restored...

Good location in the center of the town, nice lobby, good spacious room. Free (shared) Parking lot behind the hotel. Complimentary breakfast, not great but still okay. Swimming pool for those who wants to have a little dip. Price was ok,

Unless you can afford to stay in the larger suites on the third floor I wouldn't bother. The other rooms are small and whilst they are advertised as newly renovated it was actually 4 years ago when they were done! The noisiest WC flush I have ever heard. The rooms are also noisy, being in the centre of town. But...

Stayed with an old friend here and had a delightful time. The hotel is an antique but has been somewhat renovated and the air conditioning, on a very hot day, was second to none. Also, the beds and pillows were fantastically comfortable. All was clean and fresh as well. The elevator will scare the pants off of you as it...
