The lodge is quaint inside. There is a big open area for the restaurant and bar (which is open all year round). A huge fireplace is front and center of the lodge. Book a room with a full view of the lake - you will not regret it! The rooms were clean, neat and decorated to match the mountains and... More

Sunnyside feels like a welcoming hug, only better. The cozy lodge entrance belies the spectacular view from the deck where casual dining is at it's best. You walk into the lodge and BOOM! There's sapphire blue Lake Tahoe sparkling in the sunshine, or peaking with white caps, or smooth as glass. Always a surprise and never disappointing. Nothing like a... More

We spent the last 3 nights of our 6 week trip to the USA here, a very comfortable king lakeview room with lovely views. We dined at the restaurant twice and had lovely meals. The staff were excellent, in fall it was a wonderful place to stay.

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Lake. It was just perfect. The restaurant had good food and friendly service. Afternoon cookies and coffee or tea were available each day. Room was a very nice size and evenings were quiet. We loved this place and would definitely stay here again.

Sunnyside Hotel, Lake Tahoe Dates: 09 May 2016 to 12 May 2016 This hotel is situated a short distance South of Tahoe City on the North-West shore of Lake Tahoe. We were able to walk into Tahoe City in under 30 minutes and the walk was mostly easy. We really liked the Sunnyside Hotel. It has a wonderful location right... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in August as part of a tour of California and wished we could have stayed longer. We loved it!! The location (West Shore) is great - we saw wonderful sunrises and moonrises as the hotel faces east towards Nevada. Our room (36) was just perfect - full lake view, spacious, beautifully furnished and really... More

Let me set the context. I'm a Brit and our culture is different and we stayed in a lake view room on top of the lounge on Labor Day weekend. I'll try and give a balanced review. THE GOOD BITS The location and views are stunning. The sun rises of the east bank and the room deck gets glorious sun... More

Clean, nice staff but....rather small room (two king beds) so not much space left to move around in. Probably the most disappointing was the tiny deck. Large enough for two small chairs barely. The stairs were very difficult for me, a senior, and we really should have been warned. We ate in the restaurant once and wouldn't go back. One... More

We went to the Sunnyside Restaurant the second to last week in August 2016 for a late lunch and although there were plenty of vacant seats, we were initially told by the hostess that it would be a 20 minute wait to seat 6 people. She barely looked up from their reservation pad. Not a big deal and we were... More

We stayed at the Sunnyside Lodge for 2 nights and ate at the restaurant once. I really liked the feel of Sunnyside - comfortable lodge rooms, nice views, balconies with the rooms. However, there were some downsides to staying at the lodge. The rooms have no air conditioning which is fine for winter, but the rooms were pretty hot for... More
