Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Almost a last minute booking and a quick look for a sneaky weekend away brought Rescorla Farmhouse to our attention. Looking at the reviews it seemed like a no brainer and that is exactly how it turned out. We were met by Linda who gave us a warm welcome and showed us to the room. The room and en-suite were immaculately clean and as previously stated fresh milk in a flask for the tea making facilities was a nice touch. We settled in and had an excellent sleep in the large double (king-size) bed. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice from fruit to cereal and of course the full English with a choice of options. Homemade bread for toast with a choice of white or wholemeal and both were delicious. Overall I would say that Linda and Neil have set a standard that the next B&B we stay in will have to work hard to match it and if they manage to better it I will be amazed. 5 stars definitely 😎

We stayed 4 nights at Rescorla Farm House. We had a very clearly and clean bedroom. The king-size bed was perfect. In the bathroom there was a bath and a shower. Every morning Linda & Neil prepared a delicious breakfast. We felt very welcome at this B&B from the first moment. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. They gave us good tips for visits in the surroundings. Oh yes, nearly forget: very good internet connection.

As soon as we arrived we received a warm welcome from Linda and Neil and immediately felt at home. Great sized bedroom with very comfortable bed. Super breakfast with a great selection including a full English, freshly cooked. We were visiting the Eden Project and if you are doing the same this is a perfect place to stay. Beautiful garden to sit in and relax after a long day at the Eden Project. You are also 10 minutes from Charlestown, a beautiful fishing village with a great selection of restaurants. Rescorla really is a fantastic place to stay.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that the location was convenient for your plans. As you said, Charlestown offers a good choice of places to eat and is a lovely spot to while away a couple of hours down at the harbour - or, if feeling energetic, taking a walk on the South West Coast Path with stunning views of St Austell Bay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rescorla. Our room was large, bright and comfortable with lovely views. The owners are very friendly and helpful with local information. Breakfast was excellent and varied and very relaxed. The location is ideal for visiting Eden Project, Heligan, Charlestown, etc. Rescorla is a small, peaceful village but there are shops and pubs a short drive away. Overall an excellent base for a stay in Cornwall's clay country.

Second time of staying with Rescorla. Lovely hosts with lots of local knowledge. The rooms are comfy and quiet and have everything that you need. The breakfasts did not disappoint- very tasty. Ideal for couples The surrounding area is easily accessible and has many interesting locations to visit ie, Charlestown- location for some of Poldark filming, The Eden Project, Polkerris- lovely beach (although restaurants busy in peak season- need to rebook), there is also a lovely walk along the old clay mine route.

The hosts Linda and Neil immediately make you feel welcome on arrival. The room we stayed in (Polkerris) was clean, spacious and had plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. Instead of the usual small long life pots of milk with the tea/Coffee making facility Linda provides a small flask of fresh milk each day (very appreciated). The breakfasts cooked by Neil are the best we have had anywhere, they set you up for the day. The location is quiet but well situated for visiting the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligen. Fowey, Charlestown, Megavissey and other historic sites are accessible from here. Linda and Neil are knowledgeable in the local attractions and can help you with directions and even some literature. Would we stay here again? Yes definitely.

Our Dutch friends had never stayed in a B&B before, but were very pleasantly surprised when they joined us for 3 days in May 2017 at Rescorla Farm House, just outside St Austell in Cornwall. Rescorla Farm House is an immaculately kept B&B - everything so clean and comfortable, wonderful views and excellent breakfasts. It's very handy for the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and within easy reach of both the North and South Cornish coasts. Rescorla has no pub, so there is complete quiet at night for light sleepers. Linda and Neill were charming hosts, full of good advice for touring around. We had only one small quibble - the B&B wasn't very well signed and we had to ask neighbours in order to find it. We were assured that this would be rectified asap. We have already alerted family to this gem!

We were going to be in the area to attend a wedding and were looking for a place to stay for only a few nights. After an Internet search, we found the Rescorla Farm House B&B. It looked pleasant enough and had received rave reviews, so we booked two rooms. We were not at all disappointed! This bucolic B&B is situated among some of the most gorgeous scenery in Cornwall. The house is attractively furnished and our beautifully decorated bedrooms each had their own large bathrooms. The grounds were a pleasure to see and the breakfasts that we were offered were delicious. Our hosts, Linda & Neil McCarthy, graciously offered to drive us to the nearby wedding venue one day and then to meet our friends another day. They also shared with us the fact that we were their first guests from the United States. This is an ideal place to be if you’re looking for absolute peace and quiet! I only wish that we had more time to spend there. The McCarthy’s take pride in what they have and it shows. I hope that they were as pleased with us as we were with them and their outstanding inn.
