Tordi Garh lies at the edge of the village and is an 18th century structure with a series of turrets all around which were used during battles. It has a simple architecture with lime and mortar and has a series of courtyards, terraces and Verandahs. Hemendra Singh the descendant of the founders of the fort has now converted a couple of wings of the residential part into a hotel. It now houses 23 rooms of varied sizes with all amenities. Each room has its own ethnic and heritage charm which portrays the traditional architecture of the region. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with modern amenities, has provisions of air conditioning or cooling in summers and heating in winters. They have both indoor and open air dining options. The meals served are traditionally Indian and the guests have options of walking into the kitchen and learning the intricacies of Indian cooking. The term Organic can be literally used here with home grown vegetables, personal dairy, poultry and supplies from other farmers in the village being used in everything that is prepared in the kitchen of Tordi Garh. Guests can relish beautiful evenings on the terraces with drinks and meals accompanied by entertainment or stroll to the stables and watch the horses, cows, goats and hens being fed and taken care of.

One of my favorite places in India. Loved staying at Tordi Garh. Highly recommend it. Did the sunrise trek of the nearby hill top fort which was very special. Wandered around the quiet little village.

Situated in Tonk district of Rajasthan, this sustainable village is full of amazing hillocks, sand dunes, ancient temples, lime & mortal houses and a fortress on the foothills of the Aravali Range. Escape the tourist crowds and feel the joy of responsible tourism. How? Explore the 18th-century Tordi Garh Fort, lovingly restored into a charming homestay. Support local schools and the medical center, contributing to the welfare of the village community. Shop local to make a positive impact – your purchase directly supports the community.

Beautiful building, clean and tastefully decorated rooms. We came here as part of an organised group and the hotel arranged a tour of the village, seeing the local communities working in the fields and doing pottery and arranged a sunrise hike up the hearby hill. The villagers were so friendly, it was a wonderful experience and peaceful break from the cities!

Fantastic, spacious rooms with great air conditioning & fans. Food was authentic, tasty and excellent value. We did an evening safari to a small nearby village, a dam followed by sunset on sand dunes with refreshments, all for a very low price. A 5am start the next day took us for a guided hike up a high hill to Tordi Fort for sunrise and amazing views across the surrounding area. Again, this was exceptional value but probably not a good idea for anyone not in good health. There was a bar of sorts that was more than adequate for our group and we chatted late in to the evening on the roof, under the stars. Before we departed, we were taken on another guided tour of the actual village (free) Staff were all friendly and helpful and our stay was well worth the maximum score.

Aimed more at overnight visitors on a coach tour. As independent travellers, we felt like 2nd class citizens. But Navratan, who I think was in charge, was excellent. He had very little English, so it was difficult to get information about the surroundings. But he tried his hardest, and was a pleasure. And he got us on the bus to our next stop, which was Pushkar; don't think we would have made it without him!

Rural village a bit out of the way but a great way to get an insight into life in a village. Very friendly locals who are happy for a chat and to proudly show you their local life. An overnight stay in the palace hotel is a unique experience and a great place to catch the sunset from the rooftop

Me and my partner had the most amazing time here and would full recommend everyone to come and visit! Our room was beautiful and the home stay was very grand with multiple courtyards. Hemendra Singh was an amazing host and was helpful before arrival answering any questions and organising a car for us from Jaipur. Our tour guide went above and beyond to show us around the village and we also went on the jeep tour in the evening. All of the people at Tordi Garh were so hospitable and friendly.

I’m so glad that my tour included a stay at the Tordi Garh. You can feel that their hospitality is truly genuine. Even though the accommodations are quite basic (as far as amenities), the rooms are very charming, with beautiful colored glass windows and an old world feel. My main concern was air conditioning and the rooms do have a modern a/c that works well. There is room for improvement for very simple things, for example, in the bathroom, the shower products were either used or dried up from lack of usage. Also, the patio furniture really needs replacing. They cook delicious traditional Indian food and even set up a bar to purchase adult beverages so dinner in the evenings are great, specially with the option of dining under the stars. The whole family is involved in the operation, even their teenage daughters were very helpful and extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent service from the staff, clean facilities and excellent food could not recommend this place more. On our stay we were apart of a group tour and even got to play a few games of cricket with some of the staff.
