Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The bed was so comfy that I hated to leave ! The room had everything I wanted and loved the real big TV and having a frig and microwave as well. It was clean and had a great heater, as it was cold outside ! I will be back. I hope the new bed I ordered is as great as the bed in room 108 !!! 😊😊 They have a table and chairs outside every room....which looks tacky, but is convenient for smokers. Not many of those anymore........ And their is a swimming pool for hot summer days!!

I hate writing bad reviews. I know not to expect a lot from a $70 room, and I am completely fine with that. But I do expect cleanliness, which was not found here. The bed cover smelled like urine and had a blood stain on it and what I assumed to be some poo but wasn’t going to confirm that. The bathroom towels were all stained and looked like they had been used to clean floors. The mattress sham/ruffle looked like it had vomit splats on it as well as mud. I didn’t want to take my shoes off and I definitely didn’t shower there. The bed felt like it was an air mattress rolled up in sheets. It was awful. I’m sorry to write the bad review but it’s only fair that you know before you get there. We were so tired we stayed but in the morning discovered that has we driven just a few minutes more we would have been in Weaverville where there were nicer places to stay.

I've stayed at the (very comparable) 49er Gold Country Inn on my several previous visits to Weaverville, thought I'd give the competition a try. I was mostly well-satisfied, the chief reasons being that the room and linens were quite clean, although it's certainly true, as others have noted, that the bedroom furnishings generally showed plenty of wear, and the decor is old-style "rustic." Mattress was fine, and I slept great. Bathroom has been remodeled some time this century, and was also very clean. My overall take is that the owners are taking good care of the rooms though not spending (or maybe having $ to spend) on replacing worn furniture and fixtures (all the lights etc. worked). I uploaded the room pic showing the tear in the bedspread - esthetic flaw, but sheets were clean & clean-smelling. It wouldn't occur to me to note that the room _didn't_ smell "funny" or musty or anything, except that I saw one or two other reviews here reporting issues, so: I thought about it while there, and it was totally fine. Internet (a non-trivial issue for me) was not great: it was cable-speed when it was working right, but was intermittently unresponsive, and I seemed to have to re-enter access codes now and then. But it worked, and problems seem typical to me for small mountain towns I've stayed in in Nor Cal. Office staff pleasant, courteous. Bottom line, I'd stay again. In fact, I did: I checked out after my one night as planned, then decided I wanted to spend one more night in Weaverville, and checked back in for a 2nd night.

No its not fancy, but the family that runs this place is the best! I don't expect them to spend a fortune on top of the line amenities because they allow dogs. The spa tubs are cool and the pool is really nice. Honestly, it's the people that keep us coming back over and over, old fashioned top notch service beats all.

Tired and a place to stay...sad and dated but have to say the bed and bathroom were clean. As a one night stop it was ok. Wifi worked and we were tired so slept well. Not the most salubrious place but it did the job. Use it if needed.

Quiet relatively clean comfortable bed. Weaverville is a quaint little town. Motel next to bakery smelled yummy. Family business. Nice but old rooms. Has flavor for sure. In Weaverville don't support big hotel. They are slum lords

Was stuck in Weaverville because of the fires in area. The room was ok and the owners were nice, I found the room price a bit high for what you get, I could have stayed at a much better hotel for what the charged , but hey it is what it is .....

Pictures looked good on the website. When we got here looked a little run down. There was a bad smell in the room, the shower had hair in it, the bedspread had burn holes and the coffee pot was still dirty. You can hear the road and the neighbors pretty good and the cooling unit sat right at head level on one of the beds. In the morning my wifes hair dryer burned up from some kind of power surge. Wish I would have looked into the hotels a little better.

This motel is a study in contradictions, which I kind of like. Beautiful hanging flower pots, carefully maintained by the owners, a nice expanse of lawn with a venerable tree, a very clean outdoor pool. The owners are lovely and very nice. The room I stayed in was a throwback to the 1970s, with dark wood paneling, dark and much abused furniture, a kitchenette that had seen better days, an old carpet, a TV that could take VHS cassettes (!).....the bathroom was spotless though, and the bed was comfortable. This is actually a perfect place for hunters and fishermen (of which there are many in and traveling through Trinity County). It is a perfect man cave. There is everything a guy could want, and a couple of chairs outside so that you can sit and smoke a cigar. The other great thing is that it is an internalized court, and so is safe for motorcycles (as has been noted) as well as for cars - Trinity County has seen a rise in petty thefts from cars so this is a great little safe haven. A couple of general observations - it is true that the prices may be jacked at certain times of the year - but I do not begrudge the owners this - Trinity County is one of the poorest counties in California, and people need to make a living.
