I was referred to this place by a friend of mine and decided to try it out for relaxation & healing.... I was given a room that had a white tub, filled with mineral springs water & had 1 hour to be in it....very relaxing -- once complete, I drink my water, and went outside to dip myself in their...

We did not stay in cabins, only went for massage and the mineral baths. Our 90 minute massage was splendid and the bath combo sauna cool down via going oside or a quick cool shower was kind of different. Relaxing yes, but different way of doing things. Sauna is coed the retreat requires customers to by clothed now. I guess...

This is a rustic getaway. Not for everyone, not for someone who wants a Harbin style soaking experience. Read about the tubs, sauna, river facilities etc. I think some of the other reviewers provide accurate descriptions like "minimally appointed" but, if you are not expecting something they are not, you should be pretty happy here. However, if you live in...

While visiting Shasta we found this little mineral springs resort and stayed for 2 nights. It is rustic but clean and well maintained. Our little room had a queen bed, a kitchenette and a bath. Included in the room was the use of the wood fired sauna which was heavenly. That can be followed by a plunge in the river...

The cabin we had was across the road and minimally appointed at best. It did work for our needs. Do not expect to be able to prepare a meal with the fridge and amenities provided. The spring routine was different than my previous Harbin experiences. The time was limited, I believe it was an hour, during which you would soak...

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are happy you enjoyed the healing waters. The mineral baths are an hour and fifteen minutes, but folks are welcome to enjoy the sauna, deck and creek plunge all day if they wish. We do recommend a limited exposure to the mineral waters, as the minerals can be quite strong. It's true, we...

Having stayed at SMS at least a dozen times, in the cabins, apartments, A-frame, even the tepees, I can say it has everything I need for a beautiful quiet time away: clean, comfortable, in some cases almost luxurious bedding. (Who knew a trim bed could feel soooo good!) Places to sit and read, nap, ponder or do nothing. Respect for...

It was a raining day when we stayed at Lake Shasta. There were not much to do, we decided to try the Steward mineral spring retreat. About 1 hour driver to North-west, the retreat is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farm lands. Walked into the Office, it was fully booked, we had to wait for the mineral bath...

SMS is a great place to car camp - found a quiet spot near the creek below the resort, but within walking distance to the springs. The sauna with wood stove is fantastic and springs COLD but nice. Did not do the hot bath thing, feels a bit cramped and getting into tubs is not my thing. Prefer open or...

This unique woodland retreat is perfect for the neo-hippy yoga set, with very rustic grounds and a down-to-earth bare-bones spa with very reasonable prices. I opted for the $30 day pass which included full access to the spa--with a one-hour mineral bath soak, all-day sauna, sundeck and mineral creek access. The young staff is friendly and informed, and the sauna...

Needless to say there is a reason this resort does not show any interior photos of the rooms and or accommodations. Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are glad you experienced a fantastic massage, and regret that the rest of your experience did not meet your expectations. It seems that you came on an unusually busy day, which can happen in August. You had the rare experience of our one of massage therapists being late and our dress code not...
