We ate at the Midland Depot upon the great reviews.....most raved about the food, but we found it sub-par at best...the sauce had a strange taste, not quite sure what the tomato base was, but it certainly lacked something....

What a beautiful property and such a great history. The hotel is just 1/2 block off the main street and so it is very quiet. The furnishings are wonderful and each room has a very modern bathroom, the bed is very comfortable, but the feel is as if you stepped back in to the wild wild west.

We stayed for the Veterans Rally and it was a wonderful room which was so close to all the activities that it made our stay very pleasant. The staff are amazing and always worked to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you so much!

Great location, charming rooms, very comfortable beds. The staff is always so friendly and warm. No AC (but you really don't need it this high up) and no elevator...so, its not for everyone but we prefer the character of the place and its keeping with the gold mining atmosphere. Recommended.

We ate dinner at the Imperial Restaurant last year and it was amazing. We returned again this year and it was okay! Not as good! There was another large party and we weren't allowed to order until their meal was delivered. I will say, the bartender took us on tour of the theatre in the basement and that was the...

Other than some old looking buildings, one would never know that Cripple Creek was a thriving mining town of about 55,000 during the 1890s. Gambling took over in 1991 and the town now has a very different personality. . . . .until you step through the doors of the Imperial Hotel. A guest is immediately transported back in time to...

Lovely hotel that has been refreshed with modern decor, but appropriate for the hotel. I liked the ability to stay at a hotel not associated with a casino. No noise! Very quite, friendly staff. Stayed in the Governors suite. Very comfortable. The bathroom was small, but nicely redone. I enjoyed the historical photos. The location was middle of downtown, allowing...

We recently spent the night here because all the other highly rated hotels were booked. The king suite was $170 a night and the queen room was $130 a night. Compared to other hotels, this one was much higher in cost. The hotel is very historic and charming. The building itself was clean and the front desk was very vintage....

Dear Heidi Thank you for your comments - you are correct that the fully renovated Imperial Hotel that stands out as one of a few historic hotels in Cripple Creek does have a higher room rate, and during the winter [non tourist] season we are short staffed and only open on Friday and Saturday night. We stay open because many...

The Imperial Hotel is a vintage hospitality site going back to the mid 1800s but beautifully restored for modern travelers. The beds are so remarkably comfortable that you'll oversleep. Right in the heart of Cripple Creek, it's a real luxury to stay here. And the onsite restaurant is delicious.

Cripple Creek is a historic mining town, in central Colorado, and consists of many century old buildings that have all been repurposed. Cripple Creek used to be one of the core locations in the West for the gold boom, conducting millions of gold option transactions, each year. Nowadays, the town has had to change, as the gold rush is over,...
