We found the General Palmer after driving all day and were completely thrilled with the hotel! Our room was exquisite with every comfort you could ask for! The staff were just delightful.. the most comfy bed..and a full breakfast provided in the morning at a great little cafe along the street..the Lone Spur Cafe.... We will definitely stay here again...

The General Palmer Hotel is a great location on Main Ave right next to the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad depot. The price is on par with the other hotels on Main and with this hotel you get a little extra posh treatment. The front desk staff is pretty helpful and welcoming. After check in we crammed into a tiny elevator...

The General Palmer is an 1890's hotel in Durango built by, well, General Palmer. It has been beautifully restored and modernized and is one of Durango's most luxurious lodgings. The rooms are nice sized, the beds quite comfortable. The hotel is located on Main street in the heart of Durango's restaurant and bar district. Everything is quite walkable. We live...

My husband and I stayed at the General Palmer for the first time (and we only live an hour away) and loved it. It was warm, inviting, cozy, beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Just what we were looking for on our anniversary! Everything was top notch, from the cookies and coffee in the lobby, to the toiletries in our room. The...

I loved everything about this hotel! The room was beautiful, they supply good coffee, there are comfy bathrobes, and the oatmeal soap is amazing! The elevator is fun, too. You can't beat the location, and it was nice to have parking downtown.

The hotel was very nice. The room was way to warm and the thermostat did not work. Could not cool it off. Turned on the fan above the bed to cool down room. The breakfast at the Lone Star Cafe was excellent.

I recommend this hotel for everyone visiting Durango as it is pretty close to everything. Durango and Silverton narrow gauge railroad attraction is just a block away. Hotel staff is very friendly and very helpful, specially Sarah is such a wonderful person. She had our room decorated with goodies and gifts for kids, kept some fruits when we returned from...

Everything was perfect, from the room to breakfast to great friendly service the whole time. Views from the room were nice. Nice patio area, even though it was winter. The hotel has a really cool old elevator. CD player with classical music CDs and a Keurig in the room were a nice touch also.

We have been on the road for four weeks and this is the best of all of our accomadations. The General Palmer Hotel is a historic hotel located in the heart of a wonderful western town. The hotel is very elegant with old fashioned luxury. Our room was large, the bed was very comfortable with high quality linens, the windows...
