The staff is friendly, the hotel experience was okay. As indicated, it's historic but felt the upkeep of the rooms could have been better, i.e., poorly painted over wallpaper. However, the room was very clean. There are only sheers for window covers so I had to wear an eye mask. Location was walking distance to the place I visited so... More

Clean and comfortable. Just a little bit of street noise. We had a king sized bed and it took up most of the room in the room. Breakfast was not included but there was tea and coffee available all day.

We had a trial with the dogs held in Fairplay & this hotel is dog friendly. I found the stay very pleasant & comfortable for both of us It was a great place to stay. There is food right next door that is excellent.

Driving to Crested Butte last Friday, we decided it was too late to drive and so we stopped in Fairplay. John, the night manager was super friendly and helpful in getting us checked in in and situated at 11pm. I loved everything about the hotel from the hot tea at night, to the extremely comfortable mattress, the charm of squeaky... More

The hotel was built in the 1920s. The current owner is trying to refurbish the décor in the hotel that was damaged by the previous management.. There are 8 to 10 foot windows in some of the room. The rooms are not large but very comfortable. The bathrooms are updated. There is a restaurant on site but unfortunately was closed... More

This hotel very old in an old mining town. It is furnished with things that represent its history. I loved the quilts on the beds and the dressing table with a mirror. The beds weren't so comfortable, but the ambiance and the friendly staff were great. Breakfast was not much. I would go back anyway, as I love historic places.

This is not at all what we expected from the reviews. It is an old hotel that is very much still an old hotel. The bed was okay and the room was clean. The hotel staff, one person, was definitely not attentive to customer needs and was never at the desk or responsive to the bell he had for being... More

The Fairplay is definitely not your average hotel. The old architecture and decor is neat, and centrally located downtown. Learned that restaurant is closed Wednesdays, which was the night we stayed. Also learned of the haunting claims, but we didn't see any that we noticed!

This charming 19th century classic hotel was just right after four nights camping in the nearby Pike National Forest. We were not ready to leave the beautiful Fairplay area yet, but were definitely ready for a warm bed and a hot shower. Enjoying complimentary coffee and pastries in the rustic lobby proved to be a relaxing prelude to a hearty... More
