Very disappointing accomodation in a great location on the beachfront. Nice large balcony with sea views. The room furnishings were old and very shabby. The bed was so uncomfortable I bought a lilo to sleep on and there was no mattress protector under the rather thin sheet. The shower drain was blocked - I wondered why a large washing up bowl was left at my door. It was to stand in so I could pour the water down the toilet! It was fixed the next day. I. don’t think my room was swept during my 4 day stay and the bathroom bin was not emptied. I was not impressed at all!

We didn't stay in Marinos' studios but we did eat in his restaurant virtually every day during our visit. We actually regretted the occasions when we tried other restaurants in Vathi his was by far the best in terms of food, service and value. Marinos and his wife are there by early morning every day and work until the last customers go home. Everything is made freshly each day and is so tasty. The day we arrived in Vathi we sat down for lunch at 1pm and didn't leave until around 6pm (after many carafes of their own wine). That set the tone for the rest of the holiday. We're going back next summer and will probably eat there every night. Delicious!

The little restaurant here is a real gem. I can honestly say it's not only the best home cooked food in Vathi, but probably the best I've had on a Greek island in all my years of travelling here. So good, I've eaten here 5 times in the last week. Chef Marinos has 36 years experience and combines the best of Sifnos traditional cooking with his favourite recipes from other islands he's worked on. The setting of this little taverna is also exceptional. Don't expect fine dining but do look forward to a wonderful meal. Very highly recommended.

We spent 5 nights in this lovely studios! My friend and I came here to get some rest after a tough year at work and we get what we wanted! The studios are right in front of the sea, the only thing you can hear is the waves' noise on the beach, so peaceful and relaxing! The studio was big enough for the two of us. Very clean and tidy! We had clean towels and sheet every 2 nights! There is a little kitchen and a fridge with ice! which is pretty Nice when you want to relax on the balcony with a glass ou Ouzo:) The owner, his wife and their children are lovely people ! They are doing all their Best to make you feel at home and they are always smiling! They are very helpful people, you can ask anything! even if they are always here, they respect your privacy and we really appreciate that. The owner has Also a restaurant down the studios! The food is Fresh and delicious! We really enjoyed our Stay here! Vathi is wonderful and thanks to Marinos we appreciated every moments here. We highly recommand this accommodation.…

Stayed here for 5 nights in June 2011 after we saw the place from a neighbouring set of apartments the previous year. It’s a highly-idyllic setting at the end of the beach away from the more commercially minded jet-ski tourists. Only a few steps to the sea and to Marinos’ restaurant, which is pitched right on the beach itself. Much of Marinos’ food is from his farm, so you’ll get unique cuts of grilled chicken, country-fresh big-beans and tender souvlaki. However, “the best” for us was his octopus salad. It’s so mouth-wateringly tender that it causes guests to move provocatively in their seats when the first bite goes down in its oils and vinegars. We had it a total of 9 times in just the 5 nights’ stay. Highly-recommended. The rooms have everything you need and expect. They are clean, cosy and quiet and were great value for money in the low season of mid-June. Marinos and his wife are a fantastic team, who do their utmost to ensure your stay is “the best”. Ours certainly was and we’ll be back. Once you’ve stayed there, you’ll know why I titled this review “The Best” and quoted it twice.…

What a gem this place is.Firstly our host Marinos and his wife go out of their way to help you in any way they can which really makes you feel at home.Our room was basic but clean and airy and having a balcony overlooking the bay and the mountains where we enjoyed many an afternoon wine, was fantastic and just the way to unwind.Marinos has his own cafe and you actually sit only a couple of metres from the water ... fabulous. His menu is what I would call basic but delicious,indeed although we went to other parts of Vathi in search of food we kept coming back to "our" cafe for our meals.Vathi is a really isolated part of the island,totally laid back with all the accomodation basically on the sandy beachfront.If you want nightlife then you are in the wrong place but if you have hypertension this place will bring down your BP ..... no medication needed !!!!…

we stayed here for five days and had a lovely time. The rooms were studio apartments with big balconies overlooking the ocean and we had breakfast there everyday. The apartments and right on the beach, five steps from the front door. The owner has a restaurant there with great food which he cooks himself. The highlight was the host himself who was so helpful and went out of his way for us. highly recommend staying here!

We stayed here at the end of August and the start of september 2009. The owner, Marino, is really friendly and helpful. His wife does not speak english but she is still nice and helpful as far as she can. The location is great and the view is beautiful. It is located right on the beach but most places in Vathy are right on the beach. We stayed in room 2 and the view from the balcony was beautiful. It was great to have breakfast on the balcony and have a few drinks on it later. The room is very basic but it is comfortable. As we stayed at the end of August and the start of september we were charged to different rates. The first two days were €90 and the third and fourth night were €59. I think €90 is expensive for the room as it is extreemly basic. Vathy is a very small town and there is not too much to do other than sit on the beach and eat. The food is also basic enough, but it is good. There is food served at Marinos and the traditional food is excellent and well priced. It is a place for relaxing and thats what I liked most about it. If your looking for a nice place to stay on a relaxing holiday I would recommend to stay here.…

Marinos studios are right on the beach (like most of the tavernas and rooms at Vathy), have big verandas/balconies and lovely views. We stayed here in April and had the place and the beach to ourselves. The owner was very friendly and went out of his way to help us. We didn't try his food, but he made a point of letting us know that the tables and chairs on the beach are for all his guests and that we didn't have to buy food and drinks to use them. It's great to be able to have your breakfast with your toes in the sand. I'd definately come again.

We spent few days at the beginning of September in Vathy. Marinos studios is a charming little property, with 7 units, designed functionally. The place is new, clean, and the owner Marinos, is friendly and helpful. He also has a small restaurant, and he cooks there traditional Sifnos food.
