Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I must firstly apologise for a late review as our first visit was several weeks ago now. We booked in for Sunday lunch and can't recommend it highly enough. A lovely, warming pub with great food and fantastic service. They made our party with two young children feel very welcome. We will be back.

Arriving mid afternoon to a truly warm welcome from the staff. We were welcomed, shown to our fabulous Suite. We dined in the restaurant, the food was delicious served by attentive staff. We really enjoyed our choice of wine too. The is a beautiful place, so relaxing and you can be assured of a very warm Yorkshire welcome. We will be back again. It was our 23rd Wedding Anniversary and we could not have chosen a better place to celebrate. A big Thank You to all the staff.

We stayed for 2 nights. We loved everything about this place. Wonderful staff, very comfortable & tastefully decorated room and delicious food. Very tasty & beautifully presented food. Lovely choice of dishes. Just one morning our bacon was very over cooked. Would love to return. Would be great in the Winter - cosy feeling with a glass of red wine. We had an issue with the shower but we were able to rectify it. Look forward to next time.

A rural location in a very quiet small village with lovely views towards Otley and beyond. Had a large bedroom with plenty of storage space, a large tv, en suite bathroom with a lovely shower. Plenty of space to put your wash items etc. Their is free Tea and Ground coffee with a cafetiere and a couple of biscuits. Fresh milk available on request. No room phone, so mobile needed. Fan provided. Toileteries good and white fluffy towels provided along with dressing gowns.

What a gem. Nestled in a quiet little hamlet it was just perfect. We had an overnight stay booked but didn't sample the restaurant on the evening as we had eaten afternoon tea at Betty's in York. But if the breakfast was anything to go by I don't think we would of been disappointed . Everything was just perfect. A beautiful room with ensure which had everything you could ask for and quality furnishings and toiletries. Comfortable bed and quiet room apart from some rather heavy footed guests in the room above who seemed to be trying to get their 'steps' in for the day as I don't know how you could stomp around so much in one room! But it didn't spoil a night's sleep. Staff were friendly and professional..nothing was too much trouble..in fact they went out if their way to make sure you had what you wanted and enjoyed your stay. Breakfast was perfect with plenty of choice and quality ingredients cooked and prepared perfectly. We have stayed in many places and eaten in Michelin star restaurants this is uo there with my favourites. You won't be disappointed.

The first and most important point to make is this place easily gets a five star review from me! A fantastic location, spotlessly clean, high quality fittings in the bedroom, bathroom and bar area, friendly as well as helpful and professional staff. However, I am probably one of the most picky customers. Running my own business for many years, its the final and small attention to detail that really matters to me. The extra 1% that you strive continuously to achieve is by far the hardest. That said, the following points certainly don't detract from the 5 Star review and I would be back again! The bar/restaurant/reception is all quite small and compact due to the type of building. Whilst this isn't generally a problem, it can cause some minor issues. For our main evening meal we were sat at a table for two alongside another table for two at each side of us ( we were basically sat in between two tables which were very close). Having a conversation, you were aware that the tables next to you would be hearing every single word you said. In the same way that I couldn't help but hear every word both tables were saying during the whole of the meal! We could have dined at another restaurant so its not a big problem but something a table for two should consider. Put it this way, if our topic of conversation was quite personal, we would have certainly made both tables feel uncomfortable and probably ruined their evening! I felt overall the food was of good quality and the service was exceptional. However, the prices charged for the food didn't quite meet my expectation. Certainly nothing to complain about but just felt it fell slightly short of the level it should have been. The Sirloin steak at £33 was relatively high based on the size of the steak and the fairly basic accompanying sides. The full cooked breakfast I felt could have been better. The quality bacon was overcooked and therefore a little tough. The two poached eggs were more like hard boiled (see picture)! Perhaps the plate had been left under the heated lamps too long and that's why! As I say, I'm being super picky. However, for a one night stay for two people (in two rooms) including evening meal and a few drinks, the total cost was just over £500. For this level of cost for a one night stay, it needs to be absolute perfection. I would 100% return and see if my second visit is even better! I would 100% recommend to anyone else to go to the Timble Inn. A great place, in a fabulous part if the country!

We were excellently looked after from the moment we entered the Inn by the two gentlemen working that evening. Whilst the food was of a very high standard, that was delivered with well-presented plates. Especially the starters and deserts. My wife said here chicken main dish could have done with a little more broth. However, this would not deter our visiting again (if in the area). Or highly recommending to others to enjoy.

Once you have found The Timble Inn in one of the quaintest villages in Yorkshire you will have found a hidden jewel. The reception is via the bar all smartly decorated and furnished superbly. Really warm and friendly welcome from Nikki and we were shown to our room (No:7) where the excellent decor continues. We opted for a room with a larger bed and it was so comfortable. The room was clean and the toiletties were of a good quality. Little things that my wife liked a dark grey embroidered make up flanel so as not tomark the crisp fluufy white towels. We had booked a table for our evening meal which as it was a Sunday was slightly limited but the roast beef was perfectly cooked, the roast potatoes equallly so. There were good quality beers and also a large variety of gins available. Whilst the wines aren't cheap they are very good quality and accompany the meal well. Breakfast the following morning was excellent the full Yorkshire breakfast was more than filling and my wife said that the porridge and fruit salad was equally good. Coffee, tea and orange juice was freely available . We came up sadly from the South for the eve of my mother in laws funeral about half an hour away and The Timble Inn was a perfect place to stay fro peace and quiet before the long sad day. Practicly faultless.

Delicious food and wine with great service and the added bonus of fairy lights draped around the bar. We loved everything about it (the bill a little less). We had roast pigeon and scallop starters, lamb, cod and chicken mains, sticky toffee, crème brûlée and the cheeseboard for dessert. It was all superb, especially the parsnip purée with the roast pigeon.

Booked a one night stay at this pretty country Inn for my husband’s birthday. We stayed in room 11 which is separate to the main Inn in the cottage next door. Beautifully decorated and spacious room with high end fixtures and fittings and luxury bed linens. Quality touches such as lovely toiletries and even home made cookies . The food was exceptional. Do remember to book a table as it seems very popular and you wouldn’t want to miss out! We stayed on a Sunday evening and both had the roast beef dinner. My husband had the scallop starter which he said were the best scallops he has had for some time. I had the smoked pork cheeks. Very tasty indeed. Desserts were divine. Breakfast was excellent. Huge full Yorkshire breakfast that filled us up for most of the day . All the staff were really friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help. There was a slight problem with our bill at check out but Nathan dealt with this quickly and efficiently . We would highly recommend and look forward to coming back
