We just returned from a two night stay at the Mountain Goat Lodge. I would recommend this bed and breakfast in Salida without hesitation. The lodge itself is just the right size, not too big, not too small, with a beautifully appointed great room and kitchen. The rooms are fresh, airy and clean. Our hosts, Gina and D`Arcy, are friendly,...

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this nice review. We are delighted that you found the animals to be so much fun, the rooms and the food and drinks accommodating. Please know you are welcome back anytime you need to "reboot". Warmly, Gina and Darcy Marcell

I admit to thinking of many B&Bs...especially in New England...as places where fastidious, aloof people sit around drinking tea and reading the NY Times...not that there's anything wrong with it! Well, Mountain Goat Lodge is a different animal: it welcomes people, children, and pets, and has plenty for families to do! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equipped with great...

THANK you for such a nice and interesting review! We try to make sure we are not "stuffy". No lace curtains or doilies here. Thank you for mentioning all the fun things we have on our property - from the barn, the hot tub, the green house and now the retro trailer park! Speaking of Lucy and Desi, we are...

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Mountain Goat Lodge. The view is fabulous. The room was very comfortable, and we could lie in bed and see mountains! There were wineglasses and a corkscrew in the room. Breakfast was excellent, the goat yogurt was the best. Gina made some things I would not have normally had for breakfast, but all...

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and kind review. I take pride in our little farm and am glad you enjoyed the animals and views. Especially great that we had a new little baby goat to show off! I agree it is very dry here - so much that we get shocked a lot and...

Grounds are clean with areas to walk. Great fenced dog run area, but dogs are also allowed everywhere else on the property on a leash. Large deck with a clean hot tub. No restrictions on the hours of use-so you can sit under the stars with a glass of wine. Breakfast served not too early and was good, but not...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad you enjoyed the hot tub and hopefully the stars were out as well. Our breakfasts use locally sourced items from our farm and greenhouse and thus are very healthy. Sometimes that may not be your cup of tea -but we certainly try to get a bit of...

Thank you so much. We had such a great time and our little furr kid so enjoyed playing with Sooki, exploring the inn, running in your big dog run and walking the property. She was very intrigued by the goats but knew enough to stay back. We enjoyed the time to power down.

We loved having you and your pooch here to share in our beautiful property with dog-areas and dog friendly environment. Glad you were able to rest and "power down"... Living on this little farm is so peaceful it is hard to remember all that high stress corporate mentality that we came from...we try to de-stress as much as possible here.

Very casual place that is very dog friendly. Gina is very welcoming. If you want to get involved with the goats or chickens, just ask and she will show you life on her farm. Her son Derrick was great and very responsible. Everything was very clean, especially considering there are 2 resident dogs that live here. I'd skip the cheesemaking...

Thank you for sharing your kind thoughts on Trip Advisor.I am sorry if you were under the impression that cheese making is a quick experience - we try to get as much into 2-3 hours of class as possible - which is really hard considering cheese making by nature, takes lots of time. Luckily we didn't do a 6 month...

A beautiful respite right outside of Salida. We've been back three times already and loved it so much we are going back again in September. Gina is a great hostess and an even better cook! Her breakfasts are delicious!

We're not sure where Jim stayed Mother's Day weekend, but we would have to say that our experience matched Shawn's. We traveled with our dog and all of us had a fantastic time, meeting other guests, the goats - even saw a newborn goat Mother's Day morning. The food both mornings of our stay was fantastic. Coffee was made for...

Thank you for writing a review and also recommending us to your friends. I really try to share my little farm with everyone and hopefully my passion for the animals and the environment are obvious. We love our espresso machine and love sharing our local coffee, produce and dairy products with our guests. Hope you get back to Salida soon...
