We were traveling to Prescott along the scenic South Fork area and Wolf pass. We had planned to stop in Durango but always keep our minds open. After sitting for a while for an accident to be cleared and feeling like it was time to stop when he got to south fork, my hubby called to see if they took... More

See and Ray, the proprietors, were very kind and make a great hearty breakfast. The price was beyond a value and the room was modern and cozy. There are fire pits around the property. We wished that we got to the lodge earlier to enjoy the amenities. Dee puts out a continental breakfast for folks that are in a hurry.... More

What a great Cozy Lodge experience with a great Mom & Pop feel. Literally run and owned by a sweet couple. Continental breakfast is great but they will whip you up a great homemade breakfast. Pancakes, french toast, burritos and cinnamon buns the size of a plate!!! For the price and location you can't beat this place.

I was giggling when we opened the door! I take a two night trip between Phoenix where I live (hot and dry for 5 months) and Denver where I was born (verdant and always chasing snowy weather). I was debating the infamous Wolf Creek Pass. Growing up it was legendary. A REAL mountain pass with ear-popping and everything. As a... More

We stayed in The Rio Grande Room for one night. Generally it is as advertised. Had a good nights sleep. Wish we would have had more time in South Fork. We decided to forego the continental breakfast and paid for a good made from scratch breakfast. My only concern is while advertising everyone needs to have a smile or "go... More

We were on our way to camp near West Fork of the San Juan river late in the evening when it started to rain. Decided to get a hotel & begin our back pack trip the next refreshed & rested, instead of freezing and wet car camping! This lodge is fantastic! Rustic & full of personality. The owner woke up... Very nice place to stay on our Harley trip. Room was outstanding with a great bed and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. The portable fan was a great added touch as we use one at home to sleep with! People were friendly and took care of anything we needed. Had a great breakfast the next morning before leaving.

Our stay at the Spruce Lodge was reminiscent of life in the early 1920's. Although modern amenities have been added for the convenience of the modern traveler, enough of the original rustic lodge remains to transport your senses back in time. Antiques and old photos line the hallway upstairs, highlighted by the display of a lace wedding dress. Docile dogs... More

When we arrived about 90 minutes before the 3:00 check-in time, the office door was locked, so I called the on-site owner to ask her for a very small favor that only took about 3 minutes away from what she was doing. She made no bones about the fact that she was very annoyed by my request. Not good customer... More

Your simple request that only took 3 minutes of my time could have cost us our restaurant license FOREVER. No, I can NOT put that bottle of breast milk in our restaurant refrigerator. I will not. If the health inspector saw that we would be shut down on the spot. You would not take no for an answer so I... More

They are Nice people. The room was Definitely clean. It was A little dated but worth the money we paid . Our TV never worked but they did try to get it repaired. Breakfast not as good as advertised but adequate. Colorado is beautiful. We had a good time camping.

Hello Berinta, Thanks for letting us know about the TV. We purchased another one the next day and all is well. We ARE overwhelmed. Summer is very difficult and most people are not very understanding of that. Please come see us in the Fall when things slow down. We'll buy you breakfast and have time to sit down and chat....
