I stayed at the Cimarron Lodge this past summer in Unit #51. The entire lodge is fairly small and the Unit numbers aren't exactly laid out in numerical order so the bad news is I can't really tell you which of those are closest to the ski lift. However, the good news is none of the Units are a far walk because the Coonskin Lift is literally right at the base of Cimarron so you are not going to have far to go regardless of which Unit you get. You could try calling the property management company (Alpine Lodging - 888.893.0158) but depending on who you get, they may not even know the layout of the unit numbers. I will tell you there is no office at the property itself and you have to check-in at the Alpine Lodging office in downtown, a few blocks away. I believe one of the reasons it's a more affordable stay is because there is little to no overhead to manage the property so you are pretty much on your own once you get there.
If you aren't familiar with Telluride, the Cimarron really is a great location. You have a grocery store (Clark's Market) less than a five minute walk and the Galloping Goose picks up at Mahoney Drive at the West end of Cimmaron and takes you to the other lift stops and through downtown.
