Location is well away from busy Le Mans, down a tree lined rough track to an elderly Chateau. Reception is welcoming and, the accommodation was delightfully warm, given the outside temperature. The whole experience is almost a trip to yesteryear, almost everything has the feel of the late Napoleon era. That includes furniture, decorations &'plumbing. A delightful rural setting, after...

Stayed overnight on our return from Germany midway to Roscoff. Had a long delay due to a traffic delay but the wonderful owner was happy to wait up and meet and greet us on our late arrival. The room was beautiful, steeped in history and the bathroom was large and warm. Breakfast was a heavenly feast and plenty of choice....

We stopped here as a half way overnight break on our way from Calais to Bergerac. It was beautiful and charming - very French, full of lovely furniture and toile fabric everywhere, including the walls. We were given two rooms opposite (one for parents and the other for our two children) and the hosts kindly allowed us to have a...

It is a great place, charming, quiet, comfortable and very friendly! Good old France! Huge park, ideal for walks and relaxation, proximity to the highway, just perfect for those who travel from Paris to other regions of France or wish to discover Le Mans and its surroundings. Very welcoming owners, family atmosphere, clean and cozy! Will definitely come back!

We turned our hundred years family home into a 12 rooms hotel so that clients feel home too (without bothering doing anything, yet) ! Rural setting deserves outdoors animals. By the way, hope you don't mind a bray from time to time ...

Great location, very pretty and rural but near the motorway, so was a perfect night stop off . A beautiful hotel ,well priced , friendly hosts. Very close to La Mans old town, which is well worth a visit. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Fabulous alternative to soulless motorway chain hotels!

I would recommend this hotel - great service and a wonderful peaceful, secret natural setting in woodland with a lake. Plus, the owners were very helpful with in-depth knowledge of the local area, with good English spoken.

Like stepping back in time- an amazing place although we did have difficulty in finding the Domaine de Chatenay!!! True, our hotel is sometimes more familiar in remote places of the world (because of Internet) rather than from our neighbours ! But then, they don't need to... Anyway, sorry for the trouble you had looking for us ! We just want to let you know that our street name has been changed into a new one. Instead of :...

This 18th century manor house, a former family residence, now transformed into a hotel full of charm, provides the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy life in the rolling countryside around the medieval Plantagenet city of Le Mans, an officially listed "City of Art & History". Guests will appreciate the silence of nature, the comfort and refinement of our bedrooms and the charm and elegance of our period reception rooms. “It was a little difficult having a shower in the sunken bath in Room 3 and a good job I didn't have to wash my hair that morning. You need to kneel or sit in the bath to take a shower as there is no way a curtain or cubicle could be installed. A minor detail though. Very grateful for the thoughtful addition of 2 bottles of water by the bedside and tea/coffee-making facilities!”
