Pioneers Camp is a unique and fun experience! The tents are a fun idea however definitely a bit rustic. They are as clean as you can expect given they are in the middle of a national park. My sister and I stayed in the furthest tent and we were surrounded by elephants which is exactly why we came here! The...

Perfect accommodation, offering a plunge pool while watching the hippos! Delicious meals, great drives with extremely knowledgeable guides, including John and Clint. Fun canoes through the rapids and met by sunset gin and tonics on the banks of the river. Loved it!

Pioneers offered us a great value 2-day canoe trip with an overnight stopover in their luxury tented camp. Priced at $360pp for the package, land transfers, food and drink included. What a fantastic trip this is, and the second time I have done it with Pioneers. The highlight of course was the canoeing, which included shooting rapids, drifting past stunning...

Accommodation is in tents, which are large and have all amenities. The tents all look over the river where lots of hippos live, they make lots of grunts and different noises. The lodge has a huge central area which serves as a bar, somewhere to chill out and meet other guests, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good with a cold breakfast before...

We had three days in Pioneers Camp - myself and two adult children (18 and 25). We specifically wanted to canoe on the Zambezi, while my husband and middle son were fishing for Tiger Fish elsewhere. The camp was basic, but very well run. Sand floors, one main large tent - with comfy sofas and a basic tea / coffee...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Upper Zambezi National Park, located in close proximity to Victoria Falls, has many things to boast about. Our new luxury permanent camp is located inside the park, on a lovely quiet stretch of shoreline with a natural spring-line through the site, which attracts an abundance of wildlife throughout the year. This area has a healthy, and increasing game count and with the Zambezi River along the park’s boundary – there are many other activities available such as fishing, canoeing, sunset cruises as well as guided walking along the Mpala Jena springline. It is so close to Vic Falls you can easily go into town to enjoy some ‘adventure’, a game of golf, high tea at the Vic Falls hotel or anything else! In the park we will offer game drives, walking, bird-watching, and of course ‘river’ activities too.Phase one will be just six luxury tents, well appointed and nestled under shady trees. There is a central dining and lounge area to relax in. As with all our other camps, it will be eco-friendly, with modern solar lighting, and efficient and correct waste disposal. Your comfort and enjoyment is our prime concern and our dedicated team will look after your every whim. ... more   less
