First time visiting Millport pier Hotel for lunch and will be visiting again soon, great location and inside interior was clean and modern, lovely seating area outside overlooking the water, the staff were amazing lovely man and women serving us very polite, friendly, bubbly and chatty. The restaurant is also dog friendly which is a huge bonus for us as we have a small dog, we asked to move table as our dog is easily distracted and adventurous to see other dogs at nearby tables the lovely server was very accommodating and gave us a table in a quiet area he was very understanding and related to our situation making us feel so much more at ease as dining with a puppy can be a challenge. The menu had a great choice and for someone like myself who is lactose intolerant eating out can be stressful, when asking the server for an intolerance menu they didn’t have one but the kind server went the extra mile to check everything on the menu and give me a separate menu in which he read out to clarify everything was safe for me, this for me shows great customer service, going the extra mile as I would of just had a bowl of chips if they didn’t provide lactose free options but the server made sure I was accommodated altering the Menu for my needs. The food was truly great, everything was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing (best chips I’ve ever had) no exaggeration!!

Overall amazing staff and best food !!!!!!!!

It’s been years since we’ve eaten here or come for a drink. It used to be absolutely filthy and the new owners have obviously spent a fair bit of money doing the place up, it’s much more modern and much cleaner although the gents toilets weren’t particularly clean when we were there. We sat outside for a drink and had asked for a table for 6 for dinner - I went inside to enquire about our table and was rudely told by a really surly dark haired bar man to wait outside as I shouldn’t be at the bar, he was actually quite angry and aggressive : I work in hospitality and the rules are actually that you can’t sit at a bar or get drinks from a bar, not that you can’t quickly ask a staff member a quick question whilst wearing a mask. Ironic thing was that each table was asked to come to the bar to pay their bill if paying by card - a tad hypocritical and just made this guy look all the more unprofessional. The rest of the staff were so friendly and professional, especially Max but this guy really let the side down. All that said though, the food was really fresh and tasty and really really cheap and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Why o why though are you closing your kitchen at 8pm on a Friday night during the school holidays though? Crazy after the restrictions in hospitality these past 18 months - we saw at least 6 tables coming in to be told that food service stopped at 8pm : definitely missing a trick and what hotel in 2021 doesn’t serve food after 8pm? Crazy!!! Would have been 5 stars but the angry, rude, power crazy guy behind the bar and the dirty toilets really let the side down!

Currently here at the Millport Pier Hotel. What a brilliant hotel. We had to change our dates a few times and the staff were very accomodating. We are staying in the Lucy Ashton room which has a balcony and a lovely view towards the bay.
Although the room is small ut has everything we need and the bathroom has a wonderful shower which has multiple shower points. There are tea and coffee making facilities as well as a hairdryer.

The couple who own the hotel are fantastic and cannot do enough for their guests. Nothing is too much trouble. Matthew in the bar is great and the owners daughter runs a karaoke. The atmosphere here is friendly and very inclusive. You will feel welcome and comfortable.

The food is excellent and the location of the hotel is perfect. There is a pool table and free parking outside the hotel. This is THE place to stay. Don't look any further, you won't find better.

Stayed at the refurbished Millport Pier Hotel for one night and had a great stay. We stayed in the Craws Nest suite at the very top. Plenty of space for our family of two adults and three kids. We had a spacious living area with couch and large table and chairs, this room also had a large sleeping area with sliding doors to the balcony. The view was superb, looked out to sea and also to Millport front. What a pleasure to sit and relax at night. The second room had two single beds and a desk and chair. Ample for two kids. The Internet was intermittent but I think that is common in Millport. Who needs it when you have such amazing views!

The bar area has been renovated and provides a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. We didn't spend time here until breakfast but other people's meals looked huge and tasty. Breakfast was choice of cereal then cooked breakfast, juice and as much tea or coffee as you want. Couldn't fault it.

The best aspect of this hotel is the staff. So friendly and welcoming, I don't know how they can work such long hours and still be so cheery! Max, the manager couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. A small issue with the fold out bed was sorted immediately. When we checked out he offered to store our cases while we went to the beach. The bar man serving breakfast was so friendly too.

We would definitely return to this hotel, value for money and perfect location.

The hotel is a Millport landmark, as famous as the croc rock, sure it’s old and a little tatty here and there but see past that to the amazing views, the prime location in the centre of town, the comfortable rooms and amazing breakfast.

Most of all, look forward to the warm friendly welcome from the new owners who will make sure you have everything you need for your stay,
nothing was too much trouble.

Dog friendly, child friendly, good food, great prices, I just can’t recommend it highly enough. I really look forward to coming back next time we’re in Scotland.

Just back from a 3 night break in Millport with the family. We rented three rooms in total and all were immaculate, freshly decorated and very comfortable with sea views. The linen was white with luxurious fluffy towels. Couldnt have been happier. The bar/restaurant is bright and airy and the staff were all fantastic! We were greeted by the manager Derek on arrival who was extremely helpful. The bar and waitressing staff were all so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Breakfasts were so tasty (full Scottish) and the staff Max and Derek were constantly offering extra teas and coffees. I was seriously so impressed with everything here. Well done to all the staff, especially the lovely wee blonde waitress. they work so hard to make it what it is. A great place to stay next time you visit Millport. Will be back as soon as i can.

I ,my Grandaughter and two great granddaughters were guided to this hotel after our previously booked accommodation was already occupied.
Nothing was too much trouble for all the lovely staff who got us organised and moved into a suite and turned a very stressful experience into a lovely break.
The accommodation was excellent and the kids loved watching the seals out in the harbour. The food was tasty and catered for us all and the staff were so welcoming and helpful.
A huge thank you to everyone for all your help and support and hope you have a successful season

From arrival at the hotel to the rooms everything was just great, Charmaine is a delightfully pleasant and helpful lady, she explains everything about what's going on at the hotel , and the ins and outs of how and where to go , the room was extremely clean, and with added touches of shampoo/shower gel to a hairdryer provided, along with kettle and tea /coffee available the room was perfect. Bathroom is a good size and large fluffy towels are also provided. The nights we were there had music and singers - there is a great vibe at this hotel, and the owners interact with all customers, making sure they are having a good time, breakfast is a full English with tea /coffee, toast and orange/apple juice, Millport is a quiet island but a ferry ride away takes you to Largs and beyond.

This is our second stay at the Millport Pier Hotel on the Isle of Cumbrae. The initial reason for our stay was to be for our wedding anniversary at the start of October but due to a family tragedy we had to cancel this initial trip. Craig and Charmaine, the owners of the hotel were absolutely fabulous in helping us to rearrange our visit. The warmth of the welcome made us feel at home straightaway and this feeling never diminished throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts or any of the staff, who were so friendly and cheerful. Matthew and Jordan were the two gentlemen who we were served by, both behind the bar and waiting on our table when we ate in the hotel. I never had a chance to thank the chefs for the tasty and well cooked food which we had during our stay. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was huge in comparison to many hotels where we have stayed before. We spent both nights in the bar and on the first night we were helping, in a small way, with the Christmas decorations in-between drinks. With my wife having family in Scotland we have decided to make staying here, for a few days, a twice yearly event as we always enjoy staying here and always feel relaxed afterwards. Our second day we met up with family who had got the ferry to the island to meet up with us at about noon. We met in the hotel and such was the ambient atmosphere that the meet up lasted until 8pm when the last ferry had to be caught back to the mainland after both lunch and dinner had been had, along with one or two adult beverages What has been lovely to see is how well the hotel has developed under the tenure of Craig and Charmaine, who had just taken over the hotel when we had our first stay here in October 2022. As little aside, anyone who may want to stay at the hotel over Halloween, Charmaine said that the Saturday closest to the upcoming 31st October, Halloween costume is positively encouraged, so it's safe to say that we will be in the vicinity of the hotel next Halloween. We can't speak highly enough of Craig and Charmaine and all of the Millport Pier hotel staff for making our stay such a great experience and we'll see you all next year.

I and my partner spent 3 nights at the MILLPORT pier despite the chilly weather. We were fortunate to get the “Lucy Aston” (as all rooms in the hotel are described with names instead of numbers which I thought was innovative and adds a personal touch) with a good view of the beauty and serenity of the island. The room was always warm which was nice considering the weather.
The hotel owners were kind, informative, timely and patient with meals even when we needed a slight change in menu.
We are strongly considering MILLPORT as an anniversary destination and highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Love,
Henry and Chidinma
