Open until the 25th September 2023 Norfolk's proper camping experience. Situated in the Norfolk Broads, close to the Norfolk coast and city of Norwich. Enjoy the open space of the un-crowded 2 acre site. Cook on a camp fire. Let your children run free on the safe, car-free campground. Gaze at the stars in our unpolluted skies. The Old Vicarage Campsite was created by people passionate about camping especially for people passionate about camping. These are the features that we believe make all the difference: •Have a campfire with one of our custom made braziers; Cook in the fire or on the hotplate, toast marsh mallows in the embers, enjoy the warmth or just get mesmerised by the flames of a real wood fire. •Camp where YOU want; We have no formal pitch boundaries, so families or groups can group tents together to make their own camp while couples can have a peaceful corner to themselves. With nearly 3 acres and a limited number of bookings, you are guaranteed plenty of space. •Relax; Children can run free and play safely on our car free campsite. Park in our convenient car park beside the campground. •Great value for money; Camping should be affordable. We charge a low, flat rate through the whole season, regardless of holidays or high seasons. •Great rural location; Middle of nowhere, centre of everywhere! Ideally situated to enjoy the Norfolk Broads, Norfolk Coast and the City of Norwich, as well as the local countryside. In the evenings, enjoy gazing at the stars in our clear, light-pollution free skies! •Open to everyone; Families, friends, couples, individuals, pets and small organised groups are all welcome. The Old Vicarage Campsite is an excellent place to stay, relax and enjoy the Norfolk countryside.

Had a wonderful week camping at The Old Vicarage Campsite as a base for cycling for days out in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. The site is great and settling down in peace and quiet at the end of each day in front of an open log fire was truly memorable.

Bernie ,who runs the site, has really organised things well. There are two good hot showers, good open plan sinks for washing up and two separate sets of clean compost loos (plus a discreet urinal for gents).
There are lots of nice touches such as a a herb bed for use of aspiring chefs as well as the one concession to modern tech - a bank of USB charging points for phones. Bernie has put a lot of information sheets on display as to local attractions (including the time it takes to get there by car or bike) and suggestions as to where to shop or eat. And there are some suggestions for campfire recipes too!

Bags of dry logs are available to buy for burning in the firepits, which feature an ingenious way of adjusting the height of the hotplate without burning your fingers.
Really love this site. Really nice for families or lone campers, especially cyclists!

We generally camp twice a year (family with two young children) and this is easily the best campsite we have found so far. There is plenty of space. No marked pitches, so you can pitch where you like. No cars on the campsite, so completely safe for children. Space to play football, frisbee etc right in front of the tents, so easy to keep an eye on children playing while cooking dinner etc. Footpath from the campsite directly into wheat field next door. Excellent hot showers and good/clean toilets, washing-up area etc. Small herb garden where you can pick your own herbs to enhance you meals (or make fresh mint tea). There was even an owl in the oak tree next to our tent, perched on the top branch each evening!

Just spent 4 nights here as a family of four (two teenage boys). First visit and really impressed with the place. Loads of space as pitches currently restricted to 12. Car park next to field so everything easy to get from there to your pitch with wheelbarrows provided and then no cars toing and froing. Facilities basic but absolutely fine, showers (two) nice ant hot with a good water supply. Freezer for ice blocks and charging points for devices. Each pitch has a fire pit with an adjustable plate for cooking on which work really well with the wood on sale (£5 a bag). Bernie was really friendly and helpful. Easy driving distance to the Broads for walking or to the coast if you prefer. Short drive to Acle for a decent size supermarket. No pubs really within walking distance and it's mainly road walking from the camp site but the roads aren't that busy. Would definitely go back.

For our first time away from home since the lockdown, we went to Norfolk and stayed two nights in the Old Vicarage Campsite. It has been a bless. There are a lot of spaces for everyone, you can easily social distance and chill. The owner was very friendly and he gave us good recommendations for what to do around Norfolk. We had plenty of room for camp fires (also bbqs). All the facilities in the campsite were clean. We loved going for walks around all the beautiful beaches. I definitely recommend this campsite.

I stayed in the new pod with friends in the other, and we loved our stay! The bed was comfy and the staff were friendly and helpful. The supplied braziers were great for a bbq styled meal too.

We would definitely stay again!

We were a group of 6 adult and 4 kids - we had a lovely stay. The camp site was clean and safe, and there was plenty of space for our kids and dog to run around with out invading other people's space. The price was excellent. The showers were spacious and warm, toilets didn't smell and people were respectful and followed the instructions.
Owner was friendly and informative.
I would really recommend this for a relaxed camping experience.

Nice campsite with basic facilities, but for a quiet peaceful time in a nice part of the world, it certainly hits the mark. Car or bike is essential to get the best out of the surroundings. Easy 5 minute walk off site to the local deli/garden centre/cafe.

Brilliant little site for campers who are not looking for bells and whistles. Everything is thought of though.

The toilets are compost loos and work really well. The kids liked the novelty value. There are two hot open top showers (no roof) which are great.

A shed with local tourist information and a freezer to keep your stuff in. A couple of wheelbarrows to move your stuff from the car park across the field. You'll need these are cars are not allowed in the field.

It is safe, quiet and private. They limit bookings to 15 pitches although some of these may be more than one tent. The field is so huge that there is plenty of space between everyone.

The owner comes around a couple of times a day and checks everyone is fine. Fire pits are given free and wood is for sale in the shed.

The site is about 20 mins from some lovely beaches and Great Yarmouth where there are all the usual supermarkets etc...

Stay. With family, friends, on your own or couple. Spacious pitches, gorgeous brazier burners and brilliantly situated to tour the area. All round excellent site - get pitched! The owner can bring you wood for the brazier - and is knowledgeable and helpful about the area. Good guy.

As a total camping novice I really enjoyed my two nights here. Lots of space for everyone and the showers, toilets and washing up facilities were very good. The braziers were fantastic and we loved cooking our meals on it. Great place for star gazing and getting back to nature.... especially when we got visits from Walnut & Sprout. The no check in/out made for a really relaxing stay. Thanks Bernie, hopefully see you again.
