Reliably good food, and generous portions. Well cooked meat, just as one ordered; not dry and tasteless. Friendly, homely atmosphere and so relaxed and relaxing. Nice garden and views. Highly recommended.

A visit with family resulted in one of the best pub lunches on a cold autumn day. Well worth the journey. The food and service were excellent. Thank you. My one no-no, was dogs being allowed around tables where people were eating.

The Duke William is a lovely old pub in a beautiful little village, with a great view across fields to the rear. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room ("Stein" - they're all named after celeb chefs!) was nicely decorated and furnished, with French doors out onto a small roof patio area with tables and chairs. The bed... More

We arrived and was very pleased to see a well present room that matches the pictures on the internet. It was very clean and well stocked with nice coffee and fresh milk. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We ate dinner in the pub and the food and service was definitely 5 stars. However - as much as I... More

Found by chance, this is one of those that ticks all the boxes. We booked a Sunday over night stay. On arrival we were greeted with cheery smile and felt immediately welcome. Our room (stein) had a small terrace and it was great to sit in the sun over looking open countryside. It was simply furnished but just right the... More

My first visit to the revamped Duke, which was pretty good when I used to live in the village some years ago. The bar and dinning room are cosy and traditional yet somehow have a contemporary feel, most welcoming as you walk in, especially with the cracking open fire. The wine list was inviting and the menu too, our waitress... More

We took advantage of the Lazy Sunday package offered by the hotel. The pub itself is charming, lovely decor which felt so welcoming. The Sunday roast was absolutely lovely. Our room (Stein) was so pretty with a small decking area overlooking the fields. Everything in the room was perfect, lots of funny and interesting books for grown ups, a powerful... More

Found through wowcher however booked independently in the end! This was such a beautiful find. We were greeted in a warm and friendly manner, swiftly shown to our room which was well put together, cute and functional. We spent a few hours chilling and getting ready and then dined in the pub for dinner! It had a very friendly busy... More

Had a lovely stay at the Duke William. We often stay over in and around Canterbury as we visit our daughter at the university, and we like to stay somewhere different each time so have tried a fair few. In all honesty this was one of the best. Comfortable room with all you need. Food served if you want it,reasonably priced.A... More

Location about 30 minutes from the Channel Tunnel made it an ideal stopover location ready for the following day's journey to Luxembourg. Only 4 rooms and we had the MPW room located at the front of the building (pictured). Room was very clean and comfortable but disappointingly minor maintenance issues were present. The lightbulb in one of the bedside lamps... More
