In the beginning there was a 19th century neoclassical mansion, that even the eye of the most common observer could transform it to a unique architectural masterpiece. This mansion has now become the Perantzada…1811 Hotel. Our decorators have revived it turning it into a great small boutique hotel. All great names of contemporary design, like Varner Panton, Tom Dixon, Ingo Mauer and Philip Stark are hosted here. Feel the Ionian breeze, rest on the Belle Époque armchairs or walk on the 19th century Persian carpets. Upon your departure you will be carrying in your luggage the light blue from the hotel’s terrace and the memories of the warmest island hospitality.

We stayed at the Perantzada Hotel for the last two weeks in September, having travelled there via Kefalonia from the UK.

The Hotel is very comfortable (we had a junior suite with a great balcony and lots of space) and has fantastic views of Vathy and the surrounding bay.

We were looked after by Antonis and Spyridoula who were fantastic hosts and made sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. This included looking after us during a rare Mediterranean hurricane which passed through the Ionian islands during the middle weekend of our stay. They made us feel very welcome and safe, during these strange Covid times.

Breakfast was always freshly made and served by our hosts. It is about a 2 minute walk to Vathy where there is a good choice of restaurants and bars. We would recommend Porto and Batis, both serving traditional Greek dishes and good fish/seafood.

Car and boat hire were arranged by Antonis at the hotel (very good rates!) and are also available locally. Both means of transport are a great way to see the island.

We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and the island of Ithaca. Stunning scenery and a great place to unwind as it is refreshingly free from large scale tourist resorts. We would certainly return and use this hotel again.

We’ve just stayed for 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. The staff were really welcoming and attentive, the room was beautiful, and the stay very peaceful. Really enjoyed the breakfasts, especially the Greek yoghourt ( the best I’ve tasted), the melon and the wonderful array of cakes.
This boutique hotel , which is made of of a number of connected buildings, has lots of little flourishes, including various installations, which give it a really individual feel; the polar opposite to an anonymous chain hotel.
On a practical level, powerful air-con and Wi-Fi in the rooms, really good shower, comfy bed with really good pillows. Really high quality towels , and lovely robes. Also they provide pool, and beach towels, for day trips out to the many wonderful beaches
We stayed in the room called Tulip, which meant lots of flights of stairs, but a fab view of the town.
We loved Ithaca, and will definitely be returning, ideally to this hotel!

This beautiful hotel and its personnel completely surpassed our expectations. Location is idyllic, facilities were stylish, thoughtfully considered, level of service and cleanliness were second to none. Antonio and Katerina went above and beyond to make our stay very special. Both were a fountain of local knowledge, consummate professionals and genuinely kind people. Must visits for your stay on Ithaca are Filliatro Beach, Kantouni Restaurant, Miles and Batis Restaurants, a fabulous cake and ice cream shop on the square called Servos and Head to Toe Salon offering massage and beauty treatments. If you get chance make sure you take a trip around the island - there are some amazing historical sites, views and little local villages. The whole island exudes a feeling of community, wellness, and safety. We are definitely returning.

This hotel and town of Vathy are so incredibly lovely! The hotel is so unique and well equipped. The rooms are clean and the pool and breakfast are fabulous. The location is perfect and in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The staff at the hotel could not be more nicer and accommodating and treated us like family. I highly recommend having Antonious make you a poolside Negroni (they are spectacular) while watching the sunset. Can’t recommend this place enough - such a treasure!

Great boutique hotel with lovely decor and we had a great sea view. We only stayed one night as we were guests at North Point Rooms on Kefalonia but would highly recommend both hotel and Ithaca for a visit. The town of Vathi is lovely, with great boutique shops. Lovely boat trip from Sami which was only a few euros each. We would definitely return and recommend.

This small and charming hotel, Perantzada 1811, captured our hearts. From breakfast at the pool-side terrace overlooking the harbor (with home-made Greek pastries) to relaxing on my room's private terrace, it was like staying at a unique and beautifully appointed house, with delightful and gracious hosts Katerina and Andonio. Katerina helped us craft each day—a special beach, a church not to be missed, a unique hike, and just the right tavernas—so that we felt we'd explored many of the islands treasures—Not all, we'll be back!

We stayed 3 nights in this gem of a hotel in the very heart of Vathy. One street back from the sea means really quiet but still phenomenal views. The room was small but made up for size by being beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. the bathroom was spacious and the balcony really big. Great to sit on the balcony of an evening and watched the yachts come and and leave.
Breakfast was perfect and the public and dining areas just lovely. Lots of interesting art to admire. The pool was divine and spending time cooling down in whilst watching the world was a highlight. The real magic was in the staff however. They made the place tick along beautifully and nothing was ever too much trouble. Thanks to all at Perantzada for making our stay so enjoyable.

You can't fault a thing in here.

The location, views, service, rooms, breakfast, staff, are amongst the best the market can offer.

It is a beautiful place at an idilic town, perfect base to explore thaca.

Sadly I only stayed 4 days, but it is worth to stay from a week+

This place is a joy to stay in. The views are amazing, the breakfasts are tasty, the rooms (in our case a junior suite - just go for it) are spacious and welcoming, the pool is clean and well kept - but most of all the staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and their service is always with a smile and without any of the 'professional charm' that you sometimes get in such places. It's a 5 minute walk to the harbour front and eateries, trips and shops.

Our hostess Katarina gave us a warm and friendly welcome and even baked us a lovely carrot cake. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The large lounge area was pleasant during the cooler afternoons and evening. The blue and white paintwork was very striking. Nothing was too much trouble to make us feel at home.

Hello Jan. The hotel is not far from the harbour, I'd say it's about 5-10 mins depending on your pace...an it's not on a hill, the road it's on is elevated in comparison to the harbour, but it is not steep...
