We very much enjoyed our stay at this wonderful old farmhouse. My husband was not feeling well and our very sweet host, Gail, allowed us to check in early and did everything possible to see that he was comfortable. The following morning, we had a delicious pancake breakfast and also homemade blueberry muffins. Gail went to the trouble of fixing a totally different breakfast of eggs and toast for my husband, who still wasn't feeling well. The yard is beautiful, flowers blooming everywhere and whimsical touches throughout. We would definitely recommend staying here.

GOOD. Owner is helpful and very pleasant. Country breakfasts were wonderful. Based on the other two couples who were staying at the same time, it attracts a very nice clientele. Guest book indicates most guests like place. BAD. We arrived Friday afternoon and room was ready. Left for most of day on Saturday. Room not serviced and bedc bed not made on Saturday. Two cats have the run of the place and,if you are allergic, too bad. Owner says cats mentioned on website.I reserved through Expedia and did not pick up about cats. VERY BAD. I think the local code official and fire Marshall should close the place until accessibility is up to snuff. Two ways in. One through lovely garden with stone walks which are hazardous. Other from rear with more stone walks until with get to back door with two dangerous stone steps. We stayed in a room located up steps which were steep. At bottom was door kept closed to these steps. Door to our room was stuck shut because of humidity. Was operated with old fashioned latch. Very historic but not functional. Did not latch door after arriving because of difficulty opening. Door at bottom of stairs closed and stuck shut. Wife had to literally body slam it to get it open when we went down to breakfast first morning. I have been involved in life safety for over fifty years and this place is a life safety hazard because owner thinks it is charming and it is until someone badly hurts themself in a fall or a fire.…

Richard we were delighted you enjoyed our country breakfasts, our hens do provide the best eggs ever! Yes we do attract wonderful guests and in 24 years of doing business we are blessed. Yes we do strive to have our guests room clean and ready for your arrival, as well has home baked cookies! They were delicious weren't they! HOW is this VERY BAD? In CT B&B's are owner occupied homes, keep this in mind when you choose an accommodation of this type. So yes we do have two cats that "roam" the downstairs freely. We do ask that they not be brought upstairs....but you know how asking goes! As far as room service, we "DO" ask each of our guests after breakfast if they would like their room "serviced" Happy to do so, or respectful of your privacy. Your choice, you were asked. Because you booked on Expedia you choose the room with the LOWEST price. And the pricing is done because we feel if the room is smaller you should not have to pay the same as the larger two rooms. This room does have steep steps leading up to it, and as it is 300 years old, this was once used as the common entrance. OMG was it not just the worst summer for humidity, stick doors, etc! We are inspected and are up to snuff as you say... WE are NOT handicap accessibly and make the very clear on our website. The property is over 300 years old and surrounded by a expansive stone wall with stone steps. I suggest you DO your home work when choosing a B&B and NOT the lowest price room in the area.

My husband and I just returned from a lovely overnight at the Roseledge Country Inn. We prefer B&Bs that are likely to have charm, quirks, hospitality, and yummy food. With antiques inside and out, steep narrow stairs, wide wood floors, roosters & hens wandering amongst the extensive gardens, a cat, cookies and coffee, friendly and down-to-earth host Gail, and a delicious breakfast, the Roseledge Inn was all the things we look for in a B&B. We had the room closest to the street (Route 164) but still managed to have a good night’s sleep (the A/C in the window may have helped) in the big four poster bed. Rock path and stairs to the Inn from the parking area are uneven and might be a challenge for those with mobility issues.

This place is wonderful. The owners Gail and Ray are extremely nice. It was our first time at. B and B and it was more than we expected. The attention to detail was above and beyond. It was amazing how Gail put it all together. The bed was comfortable and the room was more spacious than it looked on line. The breakfast was great.Gail couldn’t do more for us if she tried. Last minute reservation and we were taken care of like king and queen. We hope to go back and spend more time in the beautiful gardens and play with the 2 adorable cats. We were extremely satisfied.

Great place to stay for some rest and relaxation. Grounds are very pretty with lots of tables to sit at outside if you like. We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking out over the gardens. The Inn is very old and quaint with some great antiques. Of course you have to like that style, which we did. The Inn is very very clean. Rooms are on the second floor. There is no TV in the room but there is a den on the first floor with a TV. We had breakfast both mornings and it was absolutely delicious. Muffins, eggs, bacon some delicious fresh fruit and some blueberry tart she made was to die for. Great cook.. The only downside is if you have a walking problem. The rock steps to the house are quiet high and some uneven walkways on the grounds. Just be careful walking. Other than that the Inn is awesome. Thank you Gail.…

We wanted to get away short getaway found this I believe it was built 1720 B&B, so glad we did call it enchanted garden it has multiple levels of beautiful spots to sit in beautiful gardens , with free range chickens few roosters running around on lower yard! Loved it few kitties around too. It’s obvious how much Gail the owner Innkeeper puts a lot of hard work and love in the house and property. Loved the bedroom antique furnishings very comfortable clean room with private bath . It’s also great location for beaches, Mystic and the casinos. Fresh fruit , muffins, , eggs ,Potatoes, bacon was a great awakening. Gail is fine hardworking lady great innkeeper, Thanks Gail

My husband and I had our 1st visit to a 300 year old b & b with the most lovely gardens you can imagine surrounding their home. The porch overlooks the gardens where you can sit in rocking chairs to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine. The breakfast is wonderful and muffins to die for (yes I got the recipe). If you have any allergies to cats, plants or trouble walking on uneven stone walkways you probably don't want to book there. Nearby is Mystic with the bakery Sift which is owned by one of the finalists on Best Baker in America (so yummy and worth a visit) as well as Foxwood and Mohegan Sun casino. For us city folk, loved the scenic country drive.

To start, it is a 300 year old B&B and that must inform your decisions. The outside approaches are not a standard walkway with some challenging steps on one path. There are two cats. The walls are mostly original and are not modern-hotel soundproof. Take it for what it is and know some things in advance. It may not be for you or your lifestyle. We found it charming. The beds are fine, the bathrooms and bedrooms are clean and the breakfasts are more than just adequate. The two we had were absolutely fine. We love the ambiance of the place and the setting is exquisite. Gail's pride is evident in the extensive gardens. The house is situated on nearly five acres of land and most of that is gardens. Amazing. The primary reason we picked it was it's proximity to a festival we attend at the (very) nearby Strawberry Park Campground but it is so much more than that. Gail is delightful, experienced and patient with any change or request. We liked it and have re-booked for next year. Nuf said.…

If you would like to envelope yourself in the history of the area, then this is the place to stay. Yes, if your mobility is at all limited I would suggest calling the owner first to see if there is an easier access than the irregular stone walkway and significantly high few steps in front, as well as checking room access so you don't select the room with the steep stairway leading up to our room, The Loom Room. But we weren't limited and we absolutely loved every inch of it! Gail and Ray couldn't have been friendlier or more charming. She even lent me her shawl for the evening when the weather took an unexpected turn. The building and site are absolutely charming, and the house is spotless & filled with antiques and sweet touches. Of course the house, and hence its construction, has some "unusual" or "unexpected" design features. Although it is sound, it is old!!! This is not a Disney version of the past. It was actually built in the 1700's for goodness sake! But that is the whole point of going to such places. It is such a gift that buildings like this were preserved so we can experience a taste of what life was like back then. We toured around Mystic for the deep, rich history of the area. And here at Roseledge we even got to sleep in a bit of that history as well. We loved it and look forward to returning when the huge gardens are in bloom. If you have a love & appreciation for history and preservation, and for people who work hard to give you a clean, warm home to stay in, then this is the place to visit.…

I took my husband away for a romantic weekend for his 70th birthday. My husband walks short distances only, with help of cane or is limited to a mobile scooter,When the threat of snow was announced we called Inn to cancel, three days prior to reservation. Owner said she could not give refund but would give gift card for Spring. We could not accept this as my husband's health is precarious and we do not know how he would be at a future date so we decided to go. Owner did tell us there were steep steps into the house but there was a railing which my husband thought he could negotiate. We were not told about the large decorative stones one had to walk on to get to the steps or the 50-100 foot distance from parking to house. When we entered we were told it was a shoe free house, so we were required to remove our shoes. We were offered "slippers" but they looked like dirty socks. Our room was a nice size filled with antiques, and no where to sit other than four poster bed that was about three feet off of floor. To make this review short the following describes our stay...no heat in room, a little heater provided but not sufficient, we slept in our clothes, husband fell in middle of nite on very slippery uneven wood floor and had difficulty getting up as nothing to lean on without fear if breaking, toilet stuffed in morning and we were blamed for throwing something in bowl..walk to car was dangerous when going out to dinner, snowed but no clean up of snow in morning and breakfast for a B&B so disappointing..eggs anyway you want bacon and home fries and one danish log for 6 people. We were asked to leave nicely, by owner reiterating she could not give money back and she would gladly help us find another location. She gave gift card for one evening stressing it could be used by my children or grandchildren. Never offered to clean off car, carried my bags to car and placed in snow. Insisted her husband walk out my husband...afraid of law suit?…

Dear, why would you choose a historic farm B&B for your husband with severe mobility issues? Yes our farm is a magical place! Clearly with 119 reviews with 93% being a least Very Good or Excellent and 24 years of being in business, we get that you were intrigued with our historic property, but come with your girlfriends, not your ill 71 year old husband! Research the area, there are many hotels, and even a few B&B that are handicap accessible, giving your husband a experience better suited to HIM for HIS birthday! Booking your reservation with Hotels.com prevents us from making any changes to your reservation, they want their money, and while you might have chosen us for our price through them you took away the ability for me to help you. Roseledge.com our site has the ability to book directly with us. We do have a cancellation policy, and do our best to help you in every way we can.
