Very clean and modern rooms - which was surprising given the outside doesn’t look too promising (don’t be put off!). Beds were comfy and shower was very hot unlike some other hotels we stayed at in Iceland, which was nice! The location was suitable for us as we had a car, but it would probably be a struggle if you didn’t have a car - as it is in the middle of (essentially) an industrial estate.

Fantastic strategic location very close to the Keflavik airport (and the new volcano) and perfect to start a route through the south of Iceland. In the small fishing village of Þorlákshöfn there is practically nothing, a supermarket and a couple of restaurants. Being so far away from any sources of light pollution, it is a perfect place to see the Northern Lights. I personally recommend going to the beach, to a restaurant called Hafið Bláa, there I saw the best auroras I've ever seen in my life! The room is spacious and comfortable, practically new and decorated very cute. The wifi works well, and the instructions to access are easy (no contact with anyone). You can park your car at the same door.

We had a very nice night here, ate dinner across the street at bistro bristol & got skyr at the grocery next door for breakfast (grocery hours are very limited so don’t count on it being open when you need it!) This accommodation is definitely very nice…we only removed a star since there is no breakfast like other guesthouses we stayed at

Our room at Black Beach Guesthouse was modern and had everything we needed (even a small fridge), even though it was a bit small (and we even got the larger room). The bathroom was a bit small too but it was clean nevertheless. The only downside was the rather big step you had to make to get in and out of the shower. The guesthouse does not have any stuff you get in and out of the building using lock pads. This is the same for the rooms too. There is parking right in front of the building. However, there was no lift and we had to carry our bags from the stairs and through some heavy doors. The location is ok. There weren't many things in the area but the guesthouse is in close proximity to other towns like Selfoss.

Handy place for us to stay on the last days of our holiday. Far enough away from Reykjavik but easy 35min drive to volcano and 60min drive to Keflavik airport. Not the most picturesque town in Iceland but wasn't a problem. Restaurants, bars, petrol and supermarket very close. Rooms were clean, spacious and modern and the keyless entry was easy. Communication with the guesthouse was quick and helpful beforehand. Met one of the staff while we were there and she was very friendly and helpful too. Good value for money!

This is an ok place to stay, nowhere near the beach that I could see: In an industrial park. Good: Cheap price. Comfortable bed. Bad: No one on site if you need something like clean sheets or help with a loud guest. There was hair on my pillowcase when I checked in so not sure about cleanliness. Also some black mold in the electric kettle. One window blind was broken.

Black Beach Guesthouse is a *fantastic* newer accommodation offering in Iceland located appoximately 50 minutes outside of Reykjavík in the lovely town of Þorlákshöfn. Our room was extremely spacious, well appointed, and tastefully decorated. *So* much quaint charm for the price point! Everything was incredibly clean and "fresh" given this is a newer property. A coffee maker and TV were among the amenities provided in each room, making for a comfortable stay. We arrived with multiple suitcases and carry on luggage in tow, which wasn't an issue given the spaciousness of our room. This was so appreciated given we had just come from an incredibly small hotel room in the city. Here we could really "spread out" and breathe, not have everything and everyone on top of one another! The bathroom was also incredibly spacious and well lit, with plenty of counter space for makeup and other toiletries. The walk-in shower was roomy and gloriously hot (thanks for all that delicious geothermal-heated water, Iceland!). There was also a complimentary hair dryer for our use, which is always an appreciated amenity. The guesthouse is located in a bit of an industrial park, close to Black Beach Tour headquarters (go and take the ATV tour, which is *fantastic*, or one of their other superb offerings!), and within walking distance to the town center, swimming pool, and restaurants. This is an area where you can slow down a little, enjoy the quiet charm of Iceland, and experience "small town" Icelandic life. I highly recommend Black Beach Guesthouse for a stay in the Þorlákshöfn area . In a country that is a bit notorious for being expensive and hard on a traveler's pocketbook, this is a *tremendous* value! You won't be giving anything up in exchange for Black Beach Guesthouse's nominal prices. In fact, this might be the best return on your dollar that you'll get in *all* your travels around Iceland. The cleanliness, comfort, and charm can't be beat! :)…

I really enjoyed staying in the cottage, which is part of the guesthouse. The cottage we stayed in was so nice, comfortable and every thing was clean. The cottage had view over the golf course and black beach. Very good customer service!

The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable. It offered enough space and it was very new and clean. The area the apartment was located in however wasn't that great. It felt more like an industrial terrain with barely any people walking around. Keep that in mind when you book this apartment, because you have to drive a little bit to find nice restaurants etc. But for just the stay it was very good!
