We booked directly with the owners for our daughters birthday weekend , stayed for 2 nights in room No: 10 which is situated on the top floor .The room was large , comfortable immaculately clean , beds were very comfortable and the the bathroom was spotless . Owners are very friendly and helpful and have really got a little gem of a place which you can see they have put there heart and soul into, it's location is perfect for exploring the lakes and there is a great pub a 2 minute stroll which serves lovely home cooked food . Due to Covid-19 breakfast was delivered to our room each morning and we had the tastiest sausage and bacon rolls plus lots more to choose from so don't be disappointed that they aren't doing the cooked full English they more than make up for it . Great stay we will definately choose this B&B again for our next visit to the lakes .

We arrived at the Meadowcroft and entered the front door and there was a slight damp smell, which of course we should have ignored, the main entrance was unlocked and the decoration was to a high standard and the first thing you notice is how clean Meadowcroft is, we rang the bell for attention and were quickly dealt with and given room 8, the walk up stairs showed how clean and tasteful Meadowcroft is kept. Our room was spotless and smelt clean, the bed and pillows were of very good quality, the bathroom was very big and clean and had a very powerful shower. There is the normal tea and coffee as you would expect and a TV. Breakfast is ordered nightly and delivered to your room due to current restrictions and you can order anything you want and it was of excellent quality. There is a small lounge, with a TV, fridge and microwave. We had a room overlooking the main road and noise was never an issue. A small walk to the shop at the garage and a short walk to the pub and a couple of miles to Windermere. The only issue we had was cracking floor boards above us as people moved about and we could hear someone snoring all night in the room next door, we will go back.

Stayed for two nights.
An absolute gem of a find, everything in the room was top quality and luxurious, a huge ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, an abundance of hot water, decorated to a very high standard.
Everything you could think of was in the room.
An added extra was the lounge so you didn't feel trapped in your room, bottle opener, glasses, fridge, dvds everything to make your stay relaxed and a little sanctuary.
Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room, well spaced to avoid being too close to other guests.
We were offered fresh fruit, strawberries and blueberries, with yoghurt, there was a choice of fruit juice and tea or coffee. We ordered our breakfast which was quickly cooked and were also offered toast.
The food was delicious and in set us up for the day.
On our second night we sat at one of the tables and chairs in the garden, it was so relaxing and also gave us the chance to meet other guests who also said how fantastic the guesthouse was.
Will definitely be back whenever we want to come to the Lake District.

Fab guest house, fab hosts, fab room, fab breakfast (including added touch of fresh strawberries and blueberries in addition to juice, cereals / granola, fruit, yoghurt, full English or alternative, tea / coffee and toast), absolutely squeaky clean. Lovely place to stay. Already recommended to others. Slight downer is the haphazard parking of some guests who look as if they had abandoned their cars. No space in car park or on road so allowed to park in owners' own drive. Altogether one of nicest places we have stayed. Here 4 nights.

What can we say, the people who run Meadowcroft are warm and welcoming, The rooms are absolutely spotless, varied breakfast selection, and the full english that we had was lovely.
There's a pubThe Watermill 5 mins walk away which does evening meals and brews real ale on site. Go, you will not regret it.

My husband and I booked this only 2 days before we arrived, on the way home from a holiday in Scotland. We were only expecting a basic stay, somewhere to stopover and rest from driving for a couple of days but we got so much more! The house is cosy and welcoming, and the owners are so friendly, they couldn't do enough to make our stay a comfortable and happy one. Although they could only offer the standard double room due to the late booking the room was absolutely lovely and so CLEAN and fresh! There was no doubt about Covid sanitation regs being met.
The location is ideal as it has a local pub at the end of the lane should you not want to drive anywhere for a meal. However, Windermere is only a short drive away, as are other villages for shopping, or serious walking. It's a very beautiful part of the world so it's just lovely being there.
Do not miss the breakfast! Debbie's scrambled eggs on toast are superb!
I highly recommend this place and will no doubt visit again in the near future.
Thanks again, Debbie and Elliot x

As soon as we walked in we were warmly welcomed by Elliot who straight away made us feel at home. Room was lovely with tea/coffee facilities which could be replenished from the stack in the lounge room which had a fridge and microwave, should you wish to eat something hot. Breakfast was absolutely divine. Such a wonderful selection! Debbie and Elliot are superb hosts who could not do enough to help and ensure we had a lovely stay. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you Debbie and Elliot.

Enjoyed our 3-night stay here. Comfortable bed, steady hot shower, welcoming hosts and a good egg breakfast started with fresh berries and aromatic coffee that left room for jam on toast. If I had one small complaint it would be the sound proofing in Room 1, but a pair of earplugs sorted me out.

Just got home, from this fabulous place, It was spotlessy clean, warm friendly greeting upon arrival, the way that it is run during these uncertain times was faultless. We had a breakfast list in the room which we filled out every night, then it was delivered to our room at the time of asking, the hot babs and porridge were always hot, and there was also a variety of cold stuff on the menu. We were given bedroom 3 and I must say I have never stayed in a place with such a huge bathroom before. There was a couple of tiles cracked on the bathroom floor but if you kept your slippers on then it wasn’t a problem. If I ever go back to the Lakes then this would be the first place I ring to book a room. Fabulous thankyou very much

Meadowcroft guest house is very nice and run by a lovely couple called Debbie & Elliott.
The place is immaculate the rooms are comfortable with on suite. You have tea making facilities in your room and the room next to ours for use of all guests has a fridge freezer & microwave. The breakfast selection was spot on the full English we had each day set us up well. I would definitely recommend Meadowcroft it’s a place we will use again.
There is a londis petrol station next door if you need anything & a great eating pub & micro brewery 200m away.
