Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for a four night stay in The Lakes. When we arrived the entrance was clean and freshly decorated as was our room. We had a room overlooking the car park towards the village. The room was spacious, the bed was large and comfortable. Tons of storage with wardrobe and huge chest of drawers, plus bedside cabinet storage. Two club style chairs so no sitting propped up on the bed. Large bathroom with easy to use over the bath shower. Being gluten-free it can sometimes be a bit hit and miss at breakfast. No such problem here as every day I was offered GF sausage and toast to go with the full English breakfast. Our hosts were always friendly and helpful. Despite being on a busy road our room was quiet at night and we both had a good nights sleep. I think The Meadowcroft is right up there with the best guesthouse/hotels we have stayed in so will definitely return when next we head up to The Lakes. Only one small point it it isn't always possible to get in the car park at busy times. We had to park on the road a couple of times but just a point to mention rather than a criticism.

We can honestly say that this guest house is one, of not THE best guest house we have stayed in. It certainly warrants more than a 3 start rating which we have seen on various sites. We hope to visit again soon, if we do, then we already know where we will stay. Debbie and Jackie are the perfect hosts and have gone that extra mile to ensure your stay is comfortable and all needs met. Thank you both....

Lovely guest house, the rooms were spotless, and everything had been thought of, from a heater in case it was chilly, to a hairdryer and shower gel. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and generous portions. Highly recommended. Wish we had been able to stay longer. Excellent value for money.

This is a lovely place to stay while visiting Windermere. The accommodation is first class in our opinion and everywhere is clean and very comfortable. Debbie, Jackie and all the team made us feel very welcome and we looked forward to going back after a busy day exploring the local area. The food at breakfast is appetising and served quickly and efficiently and nothing is too much trouble. We ate at the Watermill pub just a short walk along the lane and comes highly recommended too. We will definitely stay here again if we are visiting the Lake District. Margaret and Bob

Wow!!! The wife and I had 3 nights here over the Bank Holiday. We did not want to come home. Debbie, Jackie & the team were so welcoming and friendly. I really want to sing the praises of our stay but then? If I sing too loud. It could be booked up the next time we want to go, and we will. First impression, smelt clean and was spotless throughout. Lovely room 8. All amenities provided for. Yes it is situated close to a main road but close the double glazed windows and silence. Perfect just of of Windermere which was heaving. Free parking. Superb freshly cooked breakfast, comfy beds and a really relaxing break. Added bonus, a pub and brewery 100yds away. (separate review submitted) Thank you to you all.

We have a lovely couple of nights at the lakes using this bnb as a base. Rooms were very cute bed comfy as hell and clean and tidy. I think we met the host on our last morning and she was lovely. Breakfast was delish and continental was available in the room if you didnt want to go down for a full english. The only 2 things i disliked was us having to put our poochy in the car when we had breakfast. She is a good girl and wouldnt have done any damage, although i know this isnt the case for all dogs so i get why the rule is in force. I just wouldnt have done this if it was hot summer months. The other was our view, it was literally a petrol station but again not the end of the world. For 40 pound each a night you genuinely cannot complain. Its about 10 minutes drive from Windermere but didnt bother us as we had a car Ate at the pub 5 minutes away on both nights really lovely and dog friendly 😊 No toiletries so take your own

Lovely place, perfect as we could take our dog, Debbie was very nice, breakfast hampers delivered to the rooms was a lovely extra too, as our dog cannot be left alone. I really would recommend a visit for anybody visiting the lakes. Matt
