Great to revisit now the refurb is finished thanks to the floods. The beer is still on top form and the food was lovely with good portion sizes. The price is still good and the atmosphere is relax and cosy.

We stayed here for a one night break. The room was comfortable once we turned the radiator thermostat down. We enjoyed an excellent evening meal and good local ales. The breakfast was excellent. Service was professional and helpful.

Having spent a weekend in the Lakes we called in The Watermill, on our way home, as we have several times in the past. The food, service & friendliness are excellent, & yet again did not disappoint. The steak pie was amazing.

Me and my "boss" :-) stayed over for one January Friday night. We have visited the pub several times before and always fancied staying the night so we could sample the beers properly. There is good and not so good to report: Good - the pub itself is really great. The condition of the building (recently refurbished due to the...

We walked in the door and were treated like we were regulars by both the staff and the regulars. We love the fact that "dog friendly" means all canines are welcome as long as their owners behave. A comfortable afternoon having a place not by the fire led to an evening dinner that was both delicious and generous in the...

We spent the night here as an add on to our weekend as we didn't want to go home so soon. Lovely choice, mainly because we both love real ale but the food was delicious, staff were really friendly and helpful too. Our room was pleasant but not the comfiest bed in the world. We had our 5 month old...

My partner, myself and dog have stopped for food many times after a day in the lakes. It is very inviting, offers good food and a good selection of ales. A log burning fire and very hospitable staff complete the picture. This weekend we stayed over. Room was comfortable. Bit small but had a balcony which in the better weather...

Had two dinners here whilst we were staying close by and they were lovely. Home made chips were very good and food arrived quickly. Staff were very caring and will definitely visit again! Even when the pub was busy we still got served in good time

We visited for lunch on a cold wet day. The fire was roaring and plenty of choice on the menu. The meals were all very nice and the pub's own beers kept some of our party very happy with take outs purchased as well. Love that dogs are very welcome here. A great country pub

Last time we visited it was closed after the flooding in the area. Now re-opened and well refurbished. Lovely slate floor in one bar and dining area - this is the dog friendly area. The other room is carpeted , so dogs not allowed. Good menu available - lots of beers to choose from, at very reasonable prices, and the...
