Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best pies ( and a linguine) we have had in years. Lovely, really helpful staff, a fabulous chef. Loved our meal and experience here.

Super lunch here. Food was excellent as were the staff. We'll be back again and won't hesitate to recommend. Lovely atmosphere, relaxed and chilled. Lots of choice on the menu and very sympathetic for coeliacs too. My partner Amanda was thrilled with this. Hence the title! 👍🍻

We have stayed at The Mill Inn nearly every year for the past 6 years and the new owners, Geri & Steve have made the place just perfect. The location is excellent for walking and a good base, but the Inn is our favourite. The Inn has been refurbished recently and is amazing, not losing it's old charm but now looks crisp, clean and welcoming. See you again in August.

Really great pub food x great value for money x staff were attentive and prompt. Food was really tasty. Improvements could be made with staff being a little bit more welcoming; atmosphere was a little flat as it was quiet ( nobody’s fault) x xx

We were staying reasonably locally and had been recommended this pub. We were not disappointed. There was a good choice of food which was well prepared and served in a friendly atmosphere. Were we to come to this area again (quite likely) I would visit this pub again.

Absolutely beautiful little place. Stumbled upon it last night after searching for somewhere to eat we decided here would do. All the food was amazing, I’m an adult with autism and finding some food can be difficult sometimes but I enjoyed the starter so much I had it as my main too with chips. All the staff were super friendly. Food came at a good pace too and we didn’t seem to be waiting long. Price wise, it was a bit on the expensive side but as a treat it was good. Shame staff wasn’t allowed to accept tips. I can’t wait to come back for the crispy chicken.

We decided to pop in for a hot drink and hopefully a bite to eat after our walk. The pub wasn’t too busy and we easily found a table. When the drinks were brought to the table we asked about the possibility of food but were told they’d stopped serving. I asked what time they stopped serving and was told 3pm, we then discovered it was 2.50pm. Wonderful we thought (the waiter just probably hadn’t realised the time) and asked if it was at all possible just to have something simple to eat (soup). The waiter said he’d ask .. but the answer was ‘no - the chef had to prep for the evening meals’ … The more we thought about it the more unaccommodating the response seemed… surely putting a ladle of soup in a bowl isn’t that hard or time consuming.. it’d be made anyway. So I asked a passing waitress if it would be at all possible (given it was just soup) we were given a surly look and she said she’d ask Lorna (?) … no response was provided…. even though we had a further drink and stayed longer .. The pub itself is nice and in a great location but the staff did not make us feel very welcome … it’s a shame as we only live half an hour away … don’t I think we’ll rush back

Called in for a meal on a Saturday evening. Booked a table in advance, but not sure why - there was only one other table occupied. The menu was okay for a country pub/restaurant. Fair choice & reasonable prices. When the main courses were served they looked well prepared and attractive. However the gravy was very salty. My wife had Cumberland sausage and discovered a large piece of 'something' inside - we think it was some extra sausage skin. Flagged this to the waitress at the end and said she might want to alert the chef. The more senior member of staff (owner?) came over and asked what the problem was and she apologised. A few minutes later the chef wandered by to get some beers from the bar, presumably for himself. He didn't say anything. Offered dessert, fairly typical pub fare, but seemed pricy. £7 each - half the cost of a main course. Left feeling the sausage issue could have been handled better. No explanation as to what had happened or what they would do to stop it happening again. These things happen, but it's how it's dealt with that counts. This customer was left feeling that their concerns didn't matter.

The interior has been updated and looks lovely . We order meals which arrived and we very happy . Roast dinner, steak pie and lamb casserole. The vegetables were fresh, Proper Chips ,and meat tender. We weakend and had desserts also lovely. We were treat with a smile and had put us in good spot so we didnt upset anyone with a vocal pup. One couple moved to next room as she is little unsettled still going for meals out. Would definitely go back again this week .
