Staying at Tradewinds feels like "old Florida" with colorful cottages, lush tropical landscaping, helpful staff and friendly guests. Tradewinds also feels like "new Florida" with recent updates, a sparkling pool, fishing pier on the bay, and easy access to the beach. It is

Just finished a fabulous 2 weeks in a recently remodelled North cottage in the wonderful ‘Old Florida’ Tradewinds Resort. The one bedroom cottage is beautifully presented and benefits from being 50m from the pool, 100m from the Tradewinds dock on the Inland Waterway and 250m

What a wonderful spot to destress before Christmas! I came with my sister in law and we had such a great week. We stayed in a lovely recently remodelled south facing unit - it had everything we needed. Located on the inland waterway where I plan to fish with my husband on my

This location - with the Gulf on one side and the bay on the other - was absolutely fantastic! Get up for the sunrise, watch it go down just a few hundred feet away. Plus, the rooms were wonderful. They had clearly just been renovated - gorgeous kitchen with granite, soft-close

How bad is the building work currently? Was hoping to book for the end of August but this really has put me off!
I do not know what renovations are currently going on.

Can you park a boat at the hotel
I'm pretty sure there's no room in the parking lot for a boat like the other reviewer said but call Tradewinds and see what they say. Maybe they have options for guests with a boat.

We stayed in a Tradewinds Cottage. Like the other reviewer said the beautiful beach is short walk across the street and chairs available free. We never got umbrellas so don't know about that. We got beach towels from the office. We brought our dog on trip but as the previous reviewer said they are not allowed on beaches. We took her to the causeway beaches (the roads & bridges that go over water Anna Maria Sound). They're not "designated" dog beaches or dog parks but areas they are allowed. She loved it! The room had a visitor binder that had a list of restaurants that allowed dogs so we took her with us to some of them: "Maria's Family Place" and "Skinnys". She loved that too of course :)

"All beautiful"
"Consider booking a north cottage as they are a bit bigger and, I was told, recently updated."
"book early"
"They also offer Queen-sized rooms, but they may be a bit smaller inside. Check with the front desk before you book."
"Ask for one with non-shuttered / awning windows and away from the main road."
