This is such a pretty place to visit! The walking paths are wonderful with a few man made waterfalls. The springs are gorgeous and they have a place to swim. There is a $3.00 charge per person to enter the grounds. They have a small gift shop that always seems to be closed when we visit.

This state park is west of Ocala in Dunnellon. It is easily reached off US 41. A short drive leads to a very large parking lot, then a short walk to the fee station. At the fee station is also a visitor center, gift shop, restrooms, snack bar and outside tables on a large tiered patio overlooking the spring area....

Rainbow Springs State Park is a wonderful place to visit. There is a great swimming area, a nice gift shop and concession stand with a very picturesque dining area. The trails bring you along the Rainbow River, up small hills where you can sit and gaze at a number of very pretty man made water falls, pass empty enclosures where...

I visited Silver Springs (in Silver Springs/Ocala) and Rainbow Springs (Dunnellon) recently. You can swim in Rainbow Springs which is nice, but it's a small roped-off area which can get crowded on weekends and holidays. I opted not to Kayak since there were a lot of kayaks in the water already. I took the footpath around one side of the...

If you ever seen a water fall and I'm sure you have, you know there are generally large mountains around. Well I hate to bust your bubble but these are man made. Rocks have been taken from the river and the water falls were made by pumping water from the river for the falls. They are beautiful little falls and...

It costs $2 per person to get in. Regardless of age. With this entrance fee, you can walk around the park, go hiking on some trails, swim in the crystal clear springs (in a roped off swimming area), have access to the snack bar, and have access to the kayak/canoe rentals. The kayaks are $20-30 for 2 hours. The springs...

Great park, the azaleas in the spring are beautiful. Crystal clear water to swim and kayak in. Good hiking to see waterfalls and butterfly gardens. Have signs explaining the history of the park throughout.

This is a wonderful park! For only $2 it was a steal! The crystal clear water to swim in, very nice area - clean, safe. Loved watching the folks in kayaks and canoes. In spring and summer there must be a wonderful garden and lots of butterflies. Were still things blooming in Dec. Loved the trails - wide, maintained well....

This was one of the most beautiful campgrounds we've experienced. The sites are very clean, private with natural growth between sites, and very spacious. The park itself is not that fantastic - it does have river/spring access for canoes/kayaks/tubes, but nearby is the Rainbow Springs Park - you must definitely go there. Put on your walking shoes and explore the...

The park service has done a wonderful job converting this historical, former 1930's zoo into a beautiful combination botanical/ natural garden. Butterflies abound. The water is so clear you can see the spring water "bubbling" up through the sand. Lots of wildlife and birds. Despite the waterfalls being man-made they are impressive and gorgeous with benches and a gazebo to...
