The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hollywood Beach garners accolades for its prime location and relaxing vibe, with guests frequently commending the spacious rooms and engaging atmosphere, complete with a lively pool scene. While the amenities, including beach access and dining options, are popular, some visitors have experienced issues with room upkeep and maintenance. The cleanliness of the rooms receives mixed reviews, and travelers often find the additional fees and mandatory gratuities to detract from the overall value. Despite these concerns, the hotel's service is regularly celebrated for its warmth and efficiency.

First timer to the Hollywood beach area and very impressed with the Doubletree HB. Check in was quick and offered the delicious warm cookies and straight off to my room on the 8th floor.

Rooms all seem to be the same size looking at the floor plan but they are very spacious and comfortable. Nice cool pastel shades made the room feel very relaxing & calm. The sink and vanity area are part of the main bedroom with a wooden divide separating them from the rest of the room but the toilet and shower have their own room, a minor issue.

The bed was amazing, great sleeps every night, I liked the kitchenette area but only used the fridge to chill wine , water and soda. In-room coffee machine was easy to use and refilled everyday. Wi-fi was easy to connect to and worked perfectly fine.

The view over the inland waterway was a great start to the day as was the breakfast served at Port South on the ground floor. Nice choice of everything and eggs cooked to order( thanks Jackie) she’s got a great memory and super friendly with you in the morning when you are still waking up ! The cooked items did vary from day to day so you had choice, the fruit and pastries were very good too , a great start to the day.

The pool area was amazing, so relaxing ,lots of loungers and space, it never seemed to get busy, fresh towels from the pool hut, and the pool was heated too so no brrrrrrrr when you go in !!! It’s got a sloped entrance on the side and shallow parts for kids too so very accessible, also the main part is long and deep so you can do some lengths and swim off your breakfast or dinner. The drinks at the bar were well priced so enjoy a sunset cocktail there too. The beach is right across the street if you want the real thing, sea and sand in your toes.

First time ever using valet parking and once past the initial thought of $30 (just add it to your room rate in your head) it was great, the car came in no time and tipped a few dollars when it was returned to me. There is no free parking nearby other than a few spaces by BofA and the streets are metered anyways unless you want to risk overnighting it at Walmart!!

All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, it was a great finish to my vacation in FL. and hope to return to the area as the beach is right there and so much more relaxing then Miami Beach, also Aventura Mall is only a 10/15 minute drive away. Happy shopping !!!!!

Valet service was quick and easy. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was typical buffet, nothing special. Restaurant was delicious! Due to Covid, you have to request room cleaning which is pretty standard at most hotels. I didn’t need the cleaning but only fresh towels. Calling down to get those was a nightmare. Sometime the phone would just ring forever and then hang up. When I did get through, they’d say they would bring them right up. Sometimes I waited 15 minutes and sometimes they never showed up. It was hit or miss. Other than that it was a great stay. The staff was friendly! One thing to note is that the beach access is across the street. It’s about a 5 minute walk. It’s not bad but because you are further from the hotel, you will not have internet access on the beach. Also, pool is really nice! Dj is pretty awesome with music selection! Great vibes!

The pool is located on the inter coastal but you feel like you are at a resort -pool is warm and refreshing for cool winter nights. Stores and restaurants close buy you can walk to over the bridge about 10 min away and the beach if across the road very quiet beach area. Breakfast was so so and very slow service they did not have enough staff even though the hotel was full that weekend. Poor Diamond benefits only give you two continentals you have to pay for hot food and they would not give my kids a free breakfast either - for the price paid I expected better for diamond members. Rooms are clean and bright .

We were never told about the mandatory $30 per day valet parking. If it is stated on the reservation page, it should be highlighted in blue or red once the order is confirmed. This way the guest will see it and choose to proceed with booking or call for clarification. The one thing that I do not like when staying at a hotel/resort are surprise charges.

The walls were damaged and cracking in the bathroom.....never enough towels or washcloths. We had to keep tipping someone to bring items to the room that should have been there.

I only stay at Hilton hotels and this one did not meet the 5 star mark. In addition, no food in restaurants and the dirty balcony was an eye sore. I understand keeping the restaurants closed for inside dining, but at least have one restaurant providing take-out orders. I would also suggest having the valet drivers to change gloves when moving from car to car and touchinh the steering wheels, door handles, seat controls, etc. Each time we went out, we watched as they pulled up cars and went to get cars. Glove changing was not done and should be implemented, especially with COVID 19. On a positive note, the valet drivers and front desk receptionist were very cordial.

The hotel exterior and common areas are very well maintained. The valet and front desk are very nice and friendly however it stops there. To begin this hotel is close to “Hollywood” beach however the beach that is directly across from the hotel and the beach that the hotel has chairs at is Hallandale beach. Once you go to both beaches you will see why they label the hotel as doubletree “Hollywood” beach.

You are charged a “resort” fee with that fee you are given 2 chairs and towels at the beach however they do not have enough at the beach. Towels are another thing apparently they are treated like gold. At the pool you check out towels and sign for them. Apparently do NOT ask for one towel for each family member because the lady there will make a HUGE deal and tell you that “you do not need that many towels”, “there is no way you need 4 towels”. Then when you leave she yells at you that you have to return the towels, we already know this because we were on the process of placing them in the bin, but then she refused to let us sign our name that we returned the towels.

Our room was filled with the smell of weed but we were told that they can’t do anything about it because it’s for medical reasons. The pool was filled with the smell of weed as well.

Towels in the room are another issue, we ask the housekeepers who are in the halls with their carts for towels and they tell us “we don’t have any”, “that isn’t our room”, or “I will call someone”. When I called down and asked for more towels we were told they will send someone up with some, that was 2 days ago i don’t need them anymore, we were drying off after a shower with the small hand towels.

Shower, you will want to bring your own shampoo and body wash, we had to go buy our own from CVS because the very tiny bottle of shampoo they do give you is only enough 2 people to shower once.

Our room door lock would not work with the cards or the keyless app from Hilton. It would work on the doors outside coming into the hotel from the pool but unlocking our door we had to get new ones and they worked and then did not. We went down to the front desk and were told they would send someone up, they sent up a maintenance person that did not listen to anything I was saying, all he did was try the key cards I had and snatched the card out of my hand that didn’t work. I tried explaining that they literally just worked and even showed him that look it works now and tried again and it didn’t work. He took the card and said use those 2 and left.

It seems as if they are trying to recover from the loss of business from Covid with the very limited availability of towels and shampoo and soap, but with service like this they will continue to lose business AFTER Covid.

I am a Hilton Gold Member. I only stay at Hilton hotels and this was by far the worst stay I have ever had. At check in I was not even recognized as a Hilton Honors member. Secondly I asked when I booked for a pool or canal view. I got nothing. I also asked for a high floor. I was placed on the third. When I checked in I stated do I have a patio with a view. She stated yes! We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. When I went back after "checking " into my room. I was told there was nothing they could do but it was only 3 pm which meant the majority of the people hadn't even check in yet! Still nothing she could do! I paid for breakfast with my room When we went to dine, I was told I wasn't on the list and was told it would be $25.00 per person. I had to show my reservation. The woman that was working the restaurant was wonderful! The hostess was clueless. When I would walk around, not one staff would say hello or anything. The valet men worked there butts off. When I asked for more towels from the person cleaning the other room, because they are not cleaning your room while you are staying unless it is requested, I was told I couldn't get any because she didn't have any. We were there for 3 nights. I guess I am supposed to use the same towel for 3 days. The nice woman running the cafe was wonderful. Those 2 staff women were the only kind ones in the hotel. Would never come back to this hotel.

This was by far the worse Hilton I have stayed in.
I would of been better off staying at a 20 dollar motel.
Here are my notes from my stay
Floor 7 smells of cat urine
Bird poop on outdoor chairs upon checking in
Safe does not work
Mix match towels
Dingy down cover
Microwave dirty inside
Ice machine was down had to go to the lobby to retrieve an ice bag and find out that ice is only available on even floor numbers
Shower pressure is very low
Room634
Have resort fees waived and restaurant credit
No one at pool area for towels even after asking front desk before going over
Did not receive my complementary waters on day 2 after being at front desk numerous times
No help at front desk had to go to lobby to speak with someone
Weed smell coming from another room getting into my room5/25@10:00am
I was double charged
Expired hotel soap
Chip on toilet handle
Mai fence and housekeeping in my room to resolve issues whil trying to start my day on 5/24
Condom in room
Safe did not work

My elderly father recently had to stay overnight at a local hotel due to a flight delay at FLL airport. He has significant dementia and was traveling alone, so our family was worried he would not be able to navigate checking into the hotel, waking up at 5 a.m., and getting back on time to the airport on time. Sandra Dee and staff were incredible with him. They made sure he found his room, drank his water, and he especially liked his chocolate chip cookie. In the morning, they made sure he made his wake-up call, ordered him a taxi, and made sure the driver knew his situation and where he needed to be. When he left behind his passport, Sandra Dee and Joe Lombardo proactively reached out to me to coordinate having it sent to him at home in Dallas. Overall, the staff was amazing and gave a huge amount of comfort to our family that was very worried about him making it home safe. Huge kudos to Sandra Dee, Joe, and everyone who helped him make the journey!

We stayed here for a week in mid March and has so much fun! In close proximity to the beach and right on the intracoastal. When we arrived around 3pm, they only had one room ready so we took it. Really great sized rooms with a nice like kitchenette area. We were even able to see the ocean from our balcony (we stayed on the 5th floor) just like any hotel, there’s food and bad. The good definitely outweighed the bad (even though there were quite a few issues but nothing that was so detrimental to our stay) and we would definitely stay here again.

Pro’s:
*Big rooms
*Daily water
*pool area (the pool temperature was freezing so we didn’t get to enjoy swimming around, but lots of chairs around the pool and looking into the intracoastal to relax and unwind
*Valet (for the most part) all the guys were extremely nice and friendly except one gentleman that is there around 5pm. I didn’t catch his name but I should have. I have a child with me and he was rushing us telling us we needed to hurry up and strap him into his car seat because it was busy…yes let me throw him in the car not buckled correctly because you said so. Terrible.
*Great food in the restaurant
*Jackie in the restaurant!! She truly makes the whole experience worth it and deserves so many kudos!! She worked the job of 5 people every time I saw her. She was SO pleasant and sweet!! Remembered what my son and I liked to drink for breakfast and lunch each day. She is amazing in every single way

Cons:
*Elevators. Extremely slow and one was broken all days but 1 during my stay. Made for longer wait times, especially at night
*only offering $12/per person credit for the restaurant daily. Doesn’t even cover the standard continental breakfast.
*ice machines. The ice machine on 5 wasn’t working, and same with the 6th floor
*housekeeping. We were supposed to have housekeeping service after a few days and no one ever cleaned our room. We tried calling down one night to ask for more towels and tissue and finally after 20 tries, someone from the front desk finally picked up and assured someone would be right up. Another hour of calling down afterwards and we never got our stuff. Luckily there was a maid cart at the end of the hallway, so we just took stuff from there.
*of course March is a busy month because of spring break but with that in mind, make accommodations for it-more staff on hand to handle the crowds of people and requests
*restaurant hours. It was crazy that the restaurant closes so early during the week at 5:30. It’s a shame.

But as stated before, there’s some minor things that need to be tweaked, however I would recommend staying here for the big rooms and you really can’t beat the price!!

Horrible, awful. I’m currently staying here. I am attaching my pics b/c I could go on and on about the mess this place is.
No food/beverage service Monday-Wed even though the website says it’s open everyday, the door also says it’s open everyday, it is not.
The garbage in the hallway of the 4th floor, that pic was a 1pm, it’s been there since 8am.
My bed sheet with the hole in it.
They rarely answer the phone at the front desk, when I asked how I called them she said dial 0 but if it’s busy we may not answer.
Every single day we have been here I have had to go the desk for towels, washcloths are virtually impossible to get.
You have to walk across A1A to get to the beach where they share chaos with other resorts, when we went there were no chairs and there was a “waiting list”.
The room is fine, the pool area is beautiful. $300 a night and $25 resort fee each day. It’s a joke. Don’t do it!
