Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just as we landed I received a text from the hostess at the Neptune. She was very friendly and helpful. I was worried about finding parking. We got to the hotel easily and were lucky enough to find parking on the side street right beside the Neptune. We just had to walk a little way to our ocean front room. What I did notice right away was the extreme rust from the ocean salt all over the doors to each room. Inside anything metal was extremely rusty. Nothing had been updated in the bathrooms that I could tell. The kitchen was updated. Everything was very clean, but because of the rust it looked dirty. The blinds are vertical and do not cover the windows. Our bedroom had a window on each side so we kept the lights down. The bed was very comfortable. The room was kept cool with the air conditioner. We also brought a sound ball for white noise and slept well. The only major problem was that there was drug dealing going on all the day right by our hotel door. The group doing this took up a lot of the chairs and tables for hotel guests most of the day. They would take someone under the stairs by our room and you could clearly see them exchanging drugs for money as we sat and watched across from the hotel on wall by the broadwalk. If I had brought teenagers I would have been extremely worried about them. I probably would not stay here again since there are many other choices. I only picked this one because this was the only room I could find on short notice.

Walking out to ocean from door was awesome. Glad we only needed room to sleep. Accommodations stinked and all online photos were photo shopped. Pool was small, nasty, and one chair. Inside the blinds would not close and bathroom windows had no coverings, and walls thin as paper with people noise so loud. No privacy. OK place if just use room for sleep and shower but if want to hang, cook, or have any privacy not the place to be.

I stayed in RM 2413 1/31-2/2 and loved it! The room was beautiful and everything was brand new! The room had all amenities listed and U could see the ocean from the window!

The front desk staff, Maria, Anyi, Tyler, Wilson, Adlin, and Kirwin always provide exception guest service during each of my stays! The Neptune is AMAZING! Will stay here time and time again!

I highly recommend you try this location. The beach and Broadwalk 50 feet from my front door, free Wifi, free breakfast! Love it!

Management seems very u organized and makes promises they can’t keep. If you are assigned to room 2413…run. We booked a Queen suite with a pull out to our surprise they overbooked and gave our room away, so they put us in a king suite. It smelled like mold, toilet didn’t work, had a lot of crust and grime built up. Maintenance was very nice and tried to fix the toilet, house keep was also very nice. We got a new room along the ocean side and the blinds didn’t work, but a lot nicer and without the smell. This hotel doesn’t have housekeeping unless requested, which mean you have to switch out your own towels and get your own toilet paper. Housekeeping was also very nice and did a great job when requested. We had a moldy shower curtain and they came and gave us a new one within minutes and did a great job when we asked for a light clean. The daytime front desk ladies are very cranky, but the nighttime front desk was very accommodating, polite, and helpful. It was very hard to reach this place via the phone, the managers number is listed but chances are she’ll deny the call and text you the number to the front desk. They say check in is at 2 but don’t try until after 4. Overall 5/10 with a beautiful ocean view. I think the price reflects quality

First Great location only 2 day stay to list a few things that I had a problem with couldn't get the TV to work, one screw broken on toilet seat very unstable, bathroom sink not draining, not enough towels, bathroom door knob hanging loose couldn't close, dishwasher door not closing, all window shading broken and dirty not opening or closing. Smoke detector hanging from ceiling (not sure if it was working) I was told that my room was one of the newly remodel units ( I don't believe that) The problem is no management on premises to call you can only text The beach chairs they offer are so rusted you may need a tetanus shoot.
Never again

Neptune used to be a great place. Room was filled with mold. The minute you walk in you could smell it. It was all over the venting of the bathroom and the bathroom shower did not work. The rental company is not helpful at all. Will never stay there again.

Having stayed at the property previously, and knowing it went through “renovation”, I expect Ted a room at least as good as my previous one. I was shocked by this one. I made my reservation several months ago and made a few requests. They were not honored. Okay, that happens. But this room was, Honestly, disgusting.

It smelled of urine.

The bathroom had a lot of rust.

It had blinds that were dirty, broken, and did not cover the windows adequately. Those outside could see straight into the room.

Bathrooms and “kitchen” looked to be from 50s. Mildew. Cracked tiles, gross cabinets. I would never cook in the kitchen. Three of each serving item, dishes, silverware. I had to wash them all before using.

From the time I made my reservation to the time I arrived, the hotel changed to a “self check in apartment”. This was the excuse they gave for not cleaning the room. Not once in nine days. They did, however, clean the room next door. I don’t sleep in my sheets or use towels that long at home. This wasn’t a third world country.

I am to be charged a fee to “turn over” the room when I check out.

My reservation included free parking. Upon arrival, in the dark, the office was not open, there was not a sign to tell where to park, nor were there any parking spaces. Parking was a problem, there isn’t enough for the guests.

I complained about the room when I arrived, to my only contact, which was a text. I asked for a different room. I saw that there were vacancies nearby for much less. They did not move me but did issue a credit for part of the price I had already paid.

The location was good, but I did not enjoy my stay, and will never return.

This place ruined our vacation. It was so bad we wouldn't stay here. We were booked in room 114. It is located on a street back from the beach in not the best looking location. Upon entering the front door was rusted and you could tell it had been kicked in a time or two. The smell inside was horrible. Just a musty molded smell. The furniture and rug looked like something from the 60s as did the kitchen sink. The 3/4 bathroom was so small u couldn't turn around and the sink was held up with zip ties. The full bathroom although bigger in size was terribly outdated. The tub was only big enough for a child and the toilet was not bolted to the floor. All the blinds were broken and u could see inside the bathroom window from outside. There was also no fire alarms in the room. There was no one on site to assist us and after contacting the property owner their solution was to bring us air fresheners the following morning. By this time I was so nauseous by the smell that we left and had an incredibly hard time finding other accommodations. After numerous emails and contact from my bank we were reimbursed half of our money which still is not sufficient. This place should be ashamed taking peoples money for this dump. The pictures are extremely photo shopped and look nothing like what you are paying for. I never leave bad reviews but I would hate for someone else's vacation to be ruined like ours was by booking here.

We love Hollywood Beach and have been going for years but our go to hotel was booked so we tried this property. We were to have a ocean view, this wasn’t the case we could see the palm trees the only view of the ocean was when we walked out. The room was very dated and crumbling. The blinds are broken and Dysfunctional, window frames are also broken. The floors were dirty (I understand that sand will come in with you) but can be swept and/or vacuumed up. The pull cord for the ceiling light was fashioned with fishing line and a beer tab. The Vanity in the bathroom was broken as well as the tiles behind the toilet which was also rusted out. The TV was the size of a computer screen and placed on an unsecured table stand. The check in took at least an hour as they manage several properties with only one office for all check in. The office is off site and inconvenient. When we wanted ice it had to be purchased from the office as it isn’t complementary. On a good note the staff was friendly and the parking was easy. We love mom and pop hotels and we don’t need fancy but this place needs some major updates to bring the property to a standard level, as it sits it is by far substandard.
