We love our little cottage on Matlacha! The street out front, the Main Street through the island, is noisy and often packed...but step outside your door and around the back and visit another world. Right on the water of Matlacha Pass with palms and a great deck! Dolphins and pelicans wander by. The fishing is great and the sunsets are...

We stayed in the Pink Waterfront cottage for a week. It was small but had everything we needed for a week. The best part was the beautiful view of Matlacha Pass. The cottage had a small deck with a high top table and two chairs. There was a lovely deck overlooking the water that was shared by the three cottages....

Three of us stayed at the Green cottage for five days right after Christmas. The cottage had all we needed and the park-like setting in the backyard pushed this rating to excellent. We started each day sitting out on the deck, which was directly on the water. A dolphin swam by most days and the sunsets were gorgeous. I highly...

Stayed 2 nights October 2015 in the small pink cottage, waterfront. It is a very tiny kitchen but all else is OK. We had the covered parking which is hard to back into with the busy road. The back yard is beautiful with some fun fishing. Will go back.

Matlacha cottages have a Key West vibe with their bright colors. My husband and I stayed in the waterfront efficiency. Tiny, tiny kitchenette...but I managed to cut up limes for my gin and tonics without much problem! The dock was a fantastic place to sit or fish. The mullet jumping out of the water is amusing to watch, but the...

A friend and I were looking for a rental close to the Pine Island area to fish. We stumbled across the Matlacha Cottages. What a find!!! It was a small but friendly town with everything we could ask for. We kept the boat at the dock 75 feet away from the back door. WOW that was awesome. After a long...

Hello Chad, Thank you for the wonderful write up. What I find odd is that you indicate you brought a boat but speak of the tarpon you hooked onto from our dock. Must have been a good fight. We'll see you the next time your in town. Michael G. Owner

I try to really give details in my accomodation reviews, not just it was "great and relaxing", so get ready for details! I spent three nights in the Pink Water Cottage. It's a one bedroom (Queen) with a sitting area, bathroom (shower, no tub) and kitchenette. It was very clean and while small, had lots of (surprising) places to store...

My husband and I spent 2 glorious weeks at Matlacha Cottages. Our stay was absolutely exceptional! The initial greeting by Michael, giving us firsthand knowledge of great places to see, recommendations on places to eat, and where/when to catch the best local muscians, was wonderful, and useful. Our cottage was comfortable and homey. Our location was second to none! We...

Hello Lisa, Thank you for a wonderful review. Marta and I actually enjoy sharing our little piece of paradise. We are delighted to see that you took advantage of your time and relaxed by the waters edge. To stay two weeks and call it "homey" says a lot. We look forward to your return, Michael & Marta

Step back in time and relax. The pace of life is much slower with nothing fancy, just a clean relaxing place to get away from it all. There are a number of local restaurant that serve great local fish and wonderful cold beverage. A must place to relax.
