I was really worried by some of the recent reviews but was too late to cancel/change. We went in with little hopes of a decent room. We were surprised. The bed was comfortable, the room mostly clean (need more damp moping as feet got a little dirty), the bathroom was a good size and the staff was nice. We stayed in a "garden" suite definitely no real view of the garden.. but the location was good. The cons, we were street facing so it was a little loud between 9p and 1130p. The exterior windows were icky desperately need cleaned. The towels are a bit thin and threadbare. But honestly we'd stay here again (as I stayed here a 6 some years ago). Definitely decent, no bugs to speak of, no odd fees like prior posts mentioned just the daily resort fee which is published. I would recommend a small fridge would be ideal, and a microwave.... but what do you do... …

Great Hotel ( Art Deco boutique hotel)very convenient to everything In South Beach from the restaurants, clubs, shops including Walgreens etc. Friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms . Refrigerator and microwave included upon request and availability.

I recently had a disheartening experience with this hotel, even before my stay. Initially, I called to confirm the refund policy for room bookings. The staff member assured me that cancellations were possible within a 72-hour window. Relying on this information, I proceeded to book a room, only to discover post-booking that it was, in fact, non-refundable. Upon calling back for clarification, I encountered a different staff member who confirmed the non-refundable policy. This contradictory information was not only misleading but also extremely frustrating. The lack of accountability and the inability to offer a solution from the hotel’s end further aggravated the situation. Moreover, I found their “special” breakfast package to be misleadingly priced. It’s actually cheaper to dine independently at “Bacon Bitch” rather than opting for the hotel’s overpriced offer. This experience, marked by unethical business practices and poor customer service, has left me regretting my decision to book with this hotel. I haven’t even checked in yet, and I’m already having a negative experience. I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision.…

The hotel is clean and the lobby is well kept. However, there is no refrigerator in the room. Wanting to keep leftovers from spoiling, we went to the ice machine. It didn’t work. We went to the front desk hoping they would accommodate us. This only made sense because their amenities aren’t working properly. They would not store our food for us. The bathroom is small with absolutely no place to store or put anything. The listing says a hair dryer is provided, but there was none in the room. The coffee maker in my cousin’s room didn’t work. No coffee provided in the lobby.

This place is the worst it started when we arrived to check in. I booked through Expedia the app showed one price owed but the hotel had all kind of hidden Fees that added an additional 400 plus to what I was expecting to pay. I get to room it's very basic for a suite. I must mention the lighting in the room is very poor some lights work others did not. The shower did not work called to report they never sent any one to check it out. The bathroom had a used bar of soap on sink when we arrived. The roll of tissue had been used it was almost gone the spare roll on the back of the toilet was another used roll. The garbage can in the bathroom had not been emptied it had used Tampon papers in it. The room never got cleaned while we were there from Friday until Monday. The pillows or old and worn really soft. The bed made all kind of noise when tried to lay down. FYI the parking is not as stated on site it's 53 plus dollars a night. The internet is very crappie. There's no pool in the hotel itself you have to go to Sister hotel if you would like to swim. I could go on and on about this place but I'm sure you get the picture stay away from this place.…

I traveled to Miami with my mom and we stayed at the a Essex for it’s great location, just a few steps away from the beach. I can’t thank Cris and Beai enough (I hope I didn’t miss the spelling). Since my mom is 58, I asked then for a nice and quiet room and they went above and beyond. Grateful for this 2 for making my trip and memories with my mom even more unforgettable. They can arrange free bikes and free chairs at the beach. If you are staying at this hotel please don’t hesitate to ask this them or just to stop by to meet this amazing guys! Beaucè G and the rest of the front staff at Essex House was top notch and super friendly! Upon our arrival we were upgraded to a nice suite room and was truly grateful as I just booked a queen room. Room was clean, smelling so so good, and was super spacious. I cannot wait to come back and visit Essex House on my next trip!

Hotel very well located. Close to everything but without the continuous music of its sister hotel Clevelander. Very calm. Spacious and bright corner bedroom. Helping staff. Very close to the beach and in the center of all South Beach activities. Resort fees allow use of Clevelander's facilities and amenities.
