UPDATED RENOVATION NOTICE: The Confidante Miami Beach has embarked on an exciting transformation journey (multi-phase renovation project), with plans to emerge as the vibrant Andaz Miami Beach in late 2024, offering guests a whole new level of luxury and style. At this time, the hotel’s pool facilities and backyard experiences are unavailable and some noise may accompany the sounds of progress. Food & Beverage is limited to Grab-and-Go only, and full F&B services will continue to be provided on the beach. Guestrooms and the beach area will remain open for hotel guests. Beginning Monday, March 25, 2024, as we enter the next phase of our renovation, the hotel and beach area will temporarily suspend operations until we reopen as Andaz Miami Beach in late 2024, offering guests a whole new level of luxury and style.

I’m staying at the Confidante Hotel in Miami and I have to say how nice it’s been staying here. It’s in a great location, the sandy beaches are gorgeous and the staff at the hotel are very friendly. The services here have been really good in my experiences and watching the staff either by the pool, in the lobby or when welcomed into the hotel on my arrival date have been nothing short of friendly, warm and sincere. They stop to engage with you and see if they can do anything else to improve your stay. The hotel room was very nice too, I was staying on the 10th floor and it’s a pool and beach facing room and you have glorious view when waking up in the morning or seeing the activities on the beach in the evening. The beds are very comfortable, the shower is large and with good pressure from the taps and plenty of plug sockets in convenient locations to make your stay a little more comfortable. I had breakfast here during my stay and the food was very tasty!. Breakfast is available until 11am and there is a free tea and coffee station also available until 11am for your convenience. Easy access to the beaches and the boardwalk where people go for runs, walks, skating and walking their dogs. The hotel seems to be dog friendly too if that’s something that you find important! The sun beds are free and regular attentive staff available to assist in any drink or food requests too. It’s not been my first stay here at the Confidante Hotel and on arrival, the reception staff member remembered me and said welcome back. It was a nice touch! The bar, the restaurant and the lobby have a nice finish on the upholstery and decoration. There are some seating areas to relax and rest in the full air conditioned lobby area before heading out into the sun. There is also plenty of convenience shops, hotels and restaurants and coffee shops close by as well. All in all, a very nice location, lovely hotel and a very pleasant stay. Pictures of the view from the balcony and pool area from the 10th floor! Perfect!

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights for her 30th birthday! Welcomed us with a sweet card upon arrival! The hotel takes above and beyond precautions for Covid, always felt safe and they have the best smelling hand sanitizer. Food and drinks were excellent, just expect a premium price. The Miami drink was the best. Ice cream was good too, especially mango. We visited the two stores just outside of the hotel for snacks/adult beverages, a cheap alternative to daily needs

Service was great! Always responsive to our needs from our room to the beach! Note umbrellas are $22 for the whole day. Malique* was great and helpful was relaxing on the beach

I misplaced my sunglasses and Gustavo was prompt to track me down to return to me!

We splurged and got the room with the ocean front lounge deck! Was worth it to have breakfast and relax while rain showers passed us. Great just watching the waves and people!

Water was crystal clear too!

Overall a great time and most of all my wife loved it!

Just came back from a long weekend at the Confidante and I would definitely return. The amenities were great at this hotel. For starters The Backyard is so cute and a great place to grab a drink or a snack that's not necessarily at the pool. Also, even though they were very close in proximity I appreciated they had a family pool and an adult pool and the staff monitored it to ensure children stayed at the family pool. The beach is very easy access with great chairs and umbrellas. We opted to rent a day bed one day and Andy took care of us. Super helpful and he checked in frequently to see if we needed anything as well as Victor who was doing bar service. I guess selfishly my only complaint is later people just plopped down on day beds that they didn't pay for - makes paying $85 a little frustrating, while I don't think they received the same service I feel like they should probably have kicked them off. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars in the end is probably due to covid and general housekeeping services. It appears like we could have scheduled services but it needed to be done the day prior and we were never that prepared with a plan. While we didn't need our room 'cleaned' I did ask for new towels thinking they would drop them inside since we said we would be out for the day. Instead they were left in a bag outside our door. I brought them in and texted them that I left trash and dirty towels outside the door for pick up and they remained there for about 24 hours. I really feel like they need a better system for those kind of services especially when they advertise services such as fresh water bottles as part of your $40 per day resort fee.

Dear meeshell1307, We're delighted to know you enjoyed our vibrant, modern take on Miami Beach's heyday! When we share your kind words with Victor and Andy, I know it's going to make their days. Rest assured, any guests using beach daybeds are appropriately charged either before or during use. Fortunately, all umbrellas and daybeds by the pool are complimentary every day! While we love providing a slice of paradise, the only thing we love more is enjoying it safely. In order to protect our guests and staff, our team is trained to not enter guestrooms through a stay to minimize contact, with the exception of requested scheduled cleanings. However, it is unacceptable that your trash and dirty linens weren't retrieved in a timely fashion. Your comments were shared with the appropriate departments to remedy this, not only for your return, but for all future guests. Should you grant us the opportunity, I'm confident we can turn your next stay into a five star experience! Warm regards, Your Confidante

It was a birthday celebration trip without kids and we used our free night awards. Unfortunately, we couldn't apply our suite nights award to the reservation so I reached out to the property before arriving to see if they could accommodate an upgraded room since I'm a Globalist with Hyatt. It was based on availability so I understood nothing is guaranteed and they said they'll do their best. Upon arrival, we were told that we got upgraded to an ocean view with balcony but the room is not ready yet. I was excited and pleased. We waited for 2 hours in the lobby and finally got a text message stating that the room was ready. It was quite a disappointment. The room had a balcony with at best a partial ocean view that you have to stand to see the ocean (the railings were not glass like the others). It was close to the elevators which tends to be noisy. I woke up the first morning to the sound of people talking while waiting for the elevators. I texted the front desk to voiced my concern and was hoping to get moved into another room away from the elevators. They told me they were sold out which I knew wasn't true because there were still similar rooms available on their website. The other 2 mornings, we woke up at 8am because housekeeping knocked on the door. It just doesn't make any sense on why one woke knock on the door that early on a weekend in a vacation property. The front desk also refuses to provide a basic request for a late check out. As a Globalist, this is a common courtesy for evening travelers. I spoke to a manager who offered me another temporary room while we wait. Apparently the room with balconies were all sold out. Again, I went on the hyatt website and saw that they were available in abundance. She told me that she would text when the other room was ready. She never got back to me.

The best part of this property were the helpfulness of the beach and pool staff. They were courteous, willing to help, and quick. Also, the housekeeping manager also sent a bottle of champagne and cake for my birthday. That was nice.

After reading the reviews I was very much looking forward to staying here however our excitement was short lived.

We were given a room that was actually someone else’s!
We walked in and had access to all their personal items, after going down to reception & telling them this they then proceeded to try and contact house keeping..telling them again that this wasn’t a dirty room it was a guests current room they then said they would change us.

We sat over an hour to be changed , only to be given a downgraded smaller room where the shower didn’t work, no windows to open , above the outside bar (very noisy) and with lights that come on completely on their own!

After waking up at 6am to go and change they then offered us 2 different rooms that they wanted us to pay for to be moved!

Once our Virgin holidays rep had been in contact they then proceeded to tell her that they had no record of our complaint which was 2 complaints by this point!

We eventually was offered another room free of charge but we wanted out. We moved hotels and was still charge the 2 day resort fee bearing in mind we arrived at 7pm on the first day and left before 11am the next day to our new hotel.

Even without all this I don’t think it’s a good hotel anyway, hotel staff were not very welcoming with the acceptation of the doorman who was great, the restaurant staff looked like they wanted to clock off and the reception did not communicate.

This was our second visit. We weren't really satisfied the last time around but decided to give the Confidante another try. There are definitely strengths here but again the property fell short of our expectations. The rooms are lovely but housekeeping did not keep up with the basics, like replenishing shampoo bottles or leaving water bottles for Hyatt members. While guest services is very responsive, I had to call for basic items every single day; they should have simply been left in the room. Another issue is how late housekeeping came through to service the rooms. After being out at the beach or pool all afternoon, we sometimes came back to no towels for showers and found ourselves having to leave the room for housekeepers when we really wanted to be relaxing. The beach area was nice but, like last time, we had only one check in to ask our names then never saw an attendant again. The pool area was similar--friendly people but dirty chairs (it was very windy that week) and no attempt to offer help of any kind, unless we went to ask. Finally, I have to mention the restaurant. The food is very good! The only issue is that no one answers the phone when trying to call to make reservations. We finally just went down and had no trouble being seated quickly.

Overall, this property tries to deliver excellent service, especially to its Hyatt members, but still has room for improvement in the competitive Miami area.

This hotel was just OK. The hotel has been updated nicely, and the amenities are nice, but the service was subpar. Literally everywhere you turn you will see service employees. Walking from your elevator to your room you are likely to see at least 2 housekeepers in the hall, regardless the time of day. Yet - you will also notice old room service items sitting in the hallway for up to 24 hours with housekeeping just walking around them. Want to order a drink at the pool? You will see multiple waiters walking around taking orders, and at least 3 people behind the bar, but it will take at least 30 minutes to see your drink (if the waiter hasn't totally forgotten your order). Same goes for the Bird & Bone restuarant - you will need to block at LEAST 3 hours out for a meal, because it will take at least 1 hour for a waiter to ask you if you would like to order, 1 more hour for the food to arrive after that, and then good luck being able to actually get a check. Again - the hotel itself was fine, but the service was abysmal. I would not stay here again.

Long time former South Florida resident returning to the area for a week at the beach to celebrate a milestone birthday. Decided to tap into my the stash of Hyatt points I had been holding on to for many years and approached this booking hesitantly due to some of the mixed reviews I read. I am SO glad we moved ahead with our plans because the stay at the Confidante was absolutely wonderful. Location was calmer than further south, perfectly located on the beach and easily/quickly accessible from 95 via 195 (easy in, easy out). Food never disappointed, at Bird and Bone, poolside and on the beach. King Room had a cool retro design, super comfortable bed, and a nice balcony with partial sea view. Vibe and ambiance was relaxed, comfortable and friendly, little if any pretense. Staff was superb, extremely warm, engaged, eager to ensure you were relaxing and enjoying. Beach team members Veral, Shayla, Eugene, Daniel and both Daniels showed us such hospitality and made me feel extra-special on my birthday on the beach. Kudos to Alexis, one of the front office managers, as she was an absolute pro and delight! A few tips – take taxi or uber for hoping around Miami Beach, as much easier than driving and parking; parking garage at 400 W 42nd Street is super convenient and $8 for 24 hours (park it and leave it); really enjoyed Cvi.che105 for great Peruvian cuisine on Lincoln Road!

We stayed at The Confidante for 3 nights the weekend before Memorial Day. We had read a few negative reviews about room cleanliness and so were a little hesitant, but the amenities looked too good to not take advantage of, especially given the reasonable price range. It turns out there was nothing to worry about - the room was very clean and the service across all aspects of the hotel was impeccable. We were initially given a room without the ocean view that we’d paid for, but within 15 minutes we’d been moved into a room on a much higher floor with a great view of the ocean from our balcony. Clean bathroom with good shower pressure.

We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts at Ambersweet, and the Back Yard is fantastic - 2 beautiful heated pools, lots of recliners, and direct access to the beach. The food and drinks service at the beach was also excellent, and the attendants were very friendly/helpful with the chairs and umbrellas.

Overall very pleased with our stay and would return.

The Confidante wasn't as advertised as the rooms were really small and outdated. As an airline agent I am privileged to be able to travel all over the world. This Hyatt hotel definitely dropped the ball and i regretted booking it upon check in. It was my daughter's sweet 16 so didn't want to mess up her birthday weekend. The rooms we requested were supposed to be adjoining with 2 queen beds. Let me tell you they gave us two king rooms not even adjoining and wanted to charge us an additional $40 per night for a broken down cot. Their main restaurant had a horrible extremely limited menu selection not as advertised on their website. They nickel and dime for everything including the beach umbrella 2 hours $26. We normally stay at higher end hotels in Miami and thought this would be more kid friendly. This wasn't the case whatsoever! A dog jumped in the pool the first evening there do you think they cleared it out to sanitize the pool NO they weren't even around. I want to mention this hotel wasn't cheap at all I RECEIVED an additional bill the next day for fees. Hyatt needs to elevate their customers experience better by going above and beyond. They did neither for us knowing that I was provided this accommodation through my employer's site. Again just to recap I have been able to travel extensively all over the world, and generally provide wonderful feedback and ratings. Really tried to find something/anything positive regarding The Confidante and the only 1 great experience was with Maria and her beautiful designer cappuccino's. She is lovely and aims to please now she went above and beyond by making my daughter a Marilyn Monroe cappuccino. It definitely was worth $12 in my opinion. Moreover, Hyatt needs to listen to their customer's, and be better at accommodating requests. Staff are friendly yet don't really try to elevate an experience isn't this what hospitality is really about.
