Over the weekend I had the opportunity to come visit the Hilton DoubleTree in Sunny isles and it was exactly what I needed. A quick getaway to relax at the beach and enjoy myself . Everything was five stars. The service at the bar was great . Diana the young lady was very nice and helpful. The beach team was terrific. Phillip in particular took very good care of me and made sure I had everything I needed. Very hardworking employees all around at the DoubleTree and they will make you feel like family. Thank you! Be back soon !

Hotel's Favourite
This was the 12th year that we were lucky enough to spend a week in Sunny Isles. This resort has become the only place we now stay. As a Hilton Diamond member, we were upgraded to an ocean front suite overlooking the pool. The views were spectacular and the balcony was sunny for most of the day (which I loved). The suite included a full kitchen which was great for having a light meal. Our stay included a $15 food/beverage credit per person. There wasn’t anything on the breakfast menu that could be had for $15 once you added a coffee or other drink. But it still reduced the overall eating costs during our stay. The beds were comfy and the suite was clean. George and his staff at the front desk were all very friendly and helpful. The grounds include a nice pool and there is an area of beach where you can get a lounge chair and umbrella or cabana. The men working at the pool/beach area were helpful and friendly. With respect to the overall hotel conditions, the hotel appears to be working to update things. Since last year, many of the common areas appear to have been painted, several of the floor hallways are being carpeted and our suite had new vanity areas in the bathrooms, new closet doors and a new fridge. Overall, everything was wonderful. Parking is available by valet only for a nightly charge. Note that any food/drink charges include an 18% service charge.

We had a great experience at this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable - one bedroom with a comfortable king bed; nice sized kitchen with all appliances, and a spacious living room & veranda with a nice ocean view. The hotel staff was great - particularly Olga and Eleanor at the front desk and Rudy at the lobby bar really were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We arrived hours before check-in but were able to stash our luggage at the front desk while we walked around the area. We received a text when our room was ready, which was actually before the official check-in time. The pool area is nice, with some shaded areas and some sunny areas. There are two hot tubs. The one we used was good size, clean, and hot. The gym is also very well equipped and clean. Our room came with towels, two beach chairs and we rented an umbrella each day for $24. The guys working the beach stand were also very helpful. If I was to give any negatives, there are a few places where the property shows its age a bit but I never thought it looked rundown or anything. Also, the bar drinks are a little pricey and on the small side, but the people serving them were great. Bottom line, we look forward to staying at this property again next time we visit the Miami area, which I hope is soon!

The bartender on the lobby level was amazing. He served us out on the patio. He took great care of us. If we needed anything he was there. He continued this great service throughout our appetizer and the dinner and drinks. We really appreciated his kindness and patience with us.

I hope the hotel reads this and does something about it - quickly. Very serious security concerns, see photos. Nice beach location, but I would not recommend to a single female traveler. My room was ok, but my colleague had a room that smelled like smoke and had old carpet - looked like it was last updated in the 80’s & had a wall size mirror that made her very nervous. Her room was awful & if I was here on a leisure trip - I would have been very annoyed. My room had been updated, & I had two bedrooms so she ended up staying with me. I was also nervous being here alone so was glad to have her. Upon arrival, I noticed that every single patio door was unlocked & ALL of those locks were broken. The main door was also broken. The deadbolt had been gutted making it easy for someone to break in. My colleague purchased her own door safety device & never thought we would see a day where we had to use it. This was that trip. The service is non existent. We went in and sat at the restaurant - got up and left after nobody acknowledged us. Went to the Starbucks in the basement instead. Rude vibes here - something is off about this place. As a silver member - there was zero recognition, not like it’s a big deal anyway but now it means even less. Find a different hotel. Or go to a Mariott. This experience has colored my view of Hilton and was a wake up call to pay attention to personal safety. I have two daughters & no way would I feel safe with them here. We hear a lot about hotel safety now days & I always thought those people were paranoid. I no longer feel that way after encountering this hotel.

I don't know where to begin. This hotel doesn't match up to being a resort hotel. I was very disappointed with my stay at Doubletree resorts and spa. The rooms are definitely run down and deplorable. No water pressure in bathroom, furniture dirty and very old. Lamps that don't work. I shouldn't have to call front desk for all these things and more for my opinion for a so called resort hotel paying top dollar. The manager even admitting all the room are outdated. Why would management allow guest to check in knowing there will be complaints to follow. I think there going to sell the property. Otherwise they would gather complaints and resolve so many issues from the guest. I work to hard for my money. Pictures are very deceiving from website. Put the actual photos that actually are present in rooms and I guarantee reservations will be down. I was tricked and fool by this dump. I don't want to hear from managements about there comments saying sorry about your say. It's all BS. I will continue my grievance with the Hilton corporation and disgust in further detail about this dump of a hotel they represent. To all of you who reads this review and others comments from guest from the past. Be careful with your choice of this hotel. I never ever write about hotels in the past. I just want the world to know Doubletree Resort & spa ocean point in North Miami. There are many other choices to make. Don't let this one be the choice. You'll be sorry.

We booked a two-bedroom suite for a family holiday-weekend getaway. What we could not tell from the photos and description on the website was that there were two self-locking doors in between the second bedroom and the rest of the suite. This is a weird setup and might be fine if you have teenagers, but with younger children it really doesn't work because if your child needs you in the middle of the night, they have to be able to locate and use a key to get to your bedroom. We had no idea the suite was configured this way, and it really makes no sense. We ended up propping the doors open with furniture to allow access between our kids' room and the rest of the suite, but that wasn't great security-wise because the main door into the public hallway, unlike the two interior doors, had no chain lock. Other than that, this is a pretty basic hotel on a nice beach. The friendly beach staff will set up lounge chairs for you, but there's a charge if you want more than two, even if you're a family of 4 paying for a 2-bedroom suite. There's also a charge of $24 for a beach umbrella. The pool is good for kids, with a nice, shallow walk-in area, but the water was murky when we were there. Both jacuzzis were out of order for the duration of our visit. Breakfast in the little restaurant was fine, and our waiter was friendly and helpful. At least one of the three elevators was out of order, and at times it seemed like only one elevator was working. There were often long delays waiting for the elevator. We did see someone trying to fix it several times. Nice location but the facilities need some work.

Not only did hotel staff lie before we booked, we called, questioned other comments, but then lied to Expedia about conditions. Hotel is under renovation and pool, spa, hot tub, and most rooms aren't in use. PLUS!!! They had roaches!!! They offered to comp our stay if we left but then tried to harass us to leave because they are overbooked. Don't even try this place. The Hiltons need to come stay at their own places. The room was horrible and cold. We booked a balcony with a ocean view then tried to say it was a standard room booked because they ran out. It was like sleeping in a cold basement. Humid and when we realized the bugs, we killed were roaches I was done!

Pros: Nice staff throughout the resort. King partial view suite was very large, big bathroom, full kitchen, large living room area and large balcony with good side views of ocean and city (and sunrise and sunset). Starbucks cafe and on-site restaurant had good breakfast. Convenient to get lunch from the beach bar while on the beach. Ocean water was beautiful. Cons: Hotel room was in need of repairs/upkeep, it showed wear and tear. Safe didn’t work, phone didn’t work, peeling wallpaper in bathroom. They are stingy about the beach towels, only one per person. Beach got crowded on the warm weekend day and chairs are placed quite close together so it was noisy with people very close to us. A lot of people crammed in a small space of chairs. Pros of the large suite and great views and convenience of restaurants outweighed the cons so I’d stay there again.

Everything about my stay was perfect when this visiting this Doubletree resort in Miami beach for a long overdue reunion with my college roommate. More than 40 minutes away from my friend who lives on South Beach, I chose the quieter vibe of North Miami Beach (Sunny Isles) and it was the right choice. For a pretty reasonable rate compared to other resorts, I booked a 1-bedroom ocean view suite with spectacular views of the beach and the city. The suite was incredibly clean and huge as well as very comfortable! The bathroom was massive, with a whirlpool tub and large modern renovated shower. Although I chose not to have the room cleaned for the few days I was there, the cleaning crew checked in every day and made sure I had enough towels and other items. The staff are so well trained and service-oriented, including everyone from the front desk staff to the pool/cabana team, the bartenders and the cleaning staff are helpful and attentive. The consistent level of courtesy and service was noticeable compared to other resorts. It's also a very walkable neighborhood with several convenient strip malls and a short walk to CVS, a neighborhood market, Marshalls and lots of places to eat. My only complaint was that the extra night I added to my reservation in order to avoid a snowstorm was not well handled as hotel Manager would not match my original room rate that Hilton Honors promised would happen when I arrived. Hilton Honors Department should TAKE NOTE...... you need to do more than simply manage points and book stays for members. Our loyalty should matter and you should take care of your loyal customers, making these adjustments for us instead of leaving customers to fend for themselves.
