Love love love this place. We have gone here for the past 4 years. We travel with 2 other families from PA for a week at the beach.. while the rooms could use a little updating, you can't beat the price to be feet away from the gulf shore. And after our day is done, we enjoy the beautiful sunset...

Our first time at Gulf Sands November 2014 and we are hooked. Already planning our trip for next year. The resort is rustic and beautifully kept. It reminded us of a home away from home but with a view and a beach. A beach with a view or a view with a beach, either way, this type of resort cannot...

We were visiting friends in Sarasota and wanted to spend a few days on the beach. I found Gulf Surf online. They had an open room and the price was good. This place is great! We may make this an annual trip. We were in #3. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Our goal was to be...

I have been coming to Gulf Sands for 25 years at least. It is Old Florida the way it should be. The owners are very nice and the help is just wonderful. Its like having your own butler there lol. It has really been improving over the last years and I just love this lil piece of Heaven on the...

OK, no frills! But this is a place where no one points or looks down at you because you are not dressed correctly or drive the right car. Nice laid back people enjoying life. This was our second year. Great Beach. Great Time. Five minutes from good restaurants and grocery store. Hey I left stuff on the beach all night...

My family and I stayed here last weekend and really enjoyed it. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place. It's very old, but clean, quaint, and right on the beach. Additionally, it's a bit further up the key the rest of the resorts and motels, so the beach is a lot less crowded.

We spent 6 days and 5 nights at this resort just a couple of weeks ago (August 2014) . We went there for the beach and the location is amazing! The water was great, barely any waves and we had dolphins swimming just a few yards from the shore. The dolphins were there every day! The resort itself is just...

We stayed here for 3 nights in June. We had 3 rooms and 12 people. This is a smaller resort and we had the whole place pretty much to ourselves. The view and location cannot really be beat. You walk out of your room and the beautiful white sand beach is right there. On our beach days, we were on...

It should be illegal to call a dingy 'motel' a 'resort'. We stayed in one of the units that's directly facing the Gulf, and the view was the only notable thing about it. With a little TLC the unit could be really comfortable and great. For example...a coffee maker with filters, but no coffee grinds and sugar. No tissue or...

My husband and I stayed here for a night in March 2014 and had a very nice time. It is a old time motel but very, very nice. Had great view of the sunset and beach was beautiful. Room needed a little update, but other than that is was nice place to stay. Owner was very friendly. If you want...

“Number 9 is the best according to others but Number 1 offers the most privacy and you can sit on your own patio for the best sunsets....and I am from Colorado....we know sunsets!!”

“#9 room upstairs is 2 bedrooms as are the 2 beach front rooms however my family like #9 because it was upstairs and over a courtyard looking over all the rooms at the beach. I just like it for that but all the beachfront rooms are nice.”
