I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Cypress Creek with my husband for a major birthday. I made special arrangements for the restaurant, 4 Flamingos to make a big deal. The hostess had all the information, even reading it to me, but somehow wires were crossed and it was overlooked during dinner. After I mentioned it to the hostess, who happened to be standing near a manager. They could not have been more apologetic. They empathized with the situation and later surprised my husband with cake and champagne in our room. It was very kind and a great remedy. Thank you to the team at 4 Flamingos for making this happen.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here 4 nights in mid January 2023. First of all it's important to point out that this property is close to 40 years old. Given that information you'll be impressed with how well the staff has taken such remarkable care of the grounds, interior and exterior of the buildings. The staff is well trained, professional, genuine, helpful and all have great attitudes. It's very evident that the leadership here is active and doing a great job. The property is quite large and it's a very good walk from your guest room to the "self park" parking lot. The guest rooms are not large by any means but respectable in size. The back of the hotel faces the lake and the pool AND the WDW nightly fireworks can be seen as well. Pay to upgrade to a lake view room...you'll be glad you did. The rooms have a noticeable design flaw. There is a large sliding wooden door to the bathroom. When the door is "open" you cannot get into the closet or safe. It blocks both the closet and safe. The room decor is somewhat basic and slightly dated but not enough to deter you from staying here. Just don't expect an ultra modern Ritz Carlton or a Waldorf Astoria type guest room. The lobby and common areas are very nice and immaculate at all times. Now....the Food and Bev situation. Hmmm.....a little lacking in this area given the size of the property. The Lakehouse restaurant which in no way resembles any lake house I've ever seen has a small bar (20 - 25 seats or less including the bar stools) and a sushi bar. (interesting combination). We did not eat here but opted for The Four Flamingos restaurant which was outstanding. The Four Flamingos is pricey with most entrees being $30 plus al la carte. There is a restaurant at the pool but it's only open at lunch. The only two dinner options are the Lakehouse and Four Flamingos. The bar at the Four Flamingos was terrific. Classy and quite with great bartenders. The pools are fantastic and very clean at all times of the day. The walking trails are great. Well laid out and well marked. Beware.....the hotel states that it's a "1 mile walk" to Disney Springs. Not so, we did it with an Apple watch and it's 1.6 miles or 35 - 40 minutes. On a hot day be sure you have plenty of water with you!! Overall the property is very nice and I would not hesitate to stay here in the future.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress as a family for Spring Break, and would highly recommend it. We were looking for a reasonably priced resort with plenty of activities, a great pool and good pool options, and the Hyatt didn't disappoint. The lagoon style pools, complete with waterfalls and grottos were great, if a little on the cool side first thing in the morning. Also, worth noting that the shallow ends are 3'6" and the deep ends 6'5", so arguably more catered to slightly older kids who are stronger swimmers / can be trusted alone in the pool, or you'll need ensure adult supervision as the pools are separated by waterfalls, so its easy for kids to be out of sight. There was a slash pad area out of the pool, with water fountains, for smaller kids that was separate from the pools. There were also two tubs, one for adults only and another for families / kid-friendly. For the $50 a day resort fee, that is included in your daily rate, the hotel offers a variety of fun activities which we took advantage of, including kayaking, pedalos, paddle boards, rock climbing, basketball, pickleball, mini golf and more. There is also a small arcade, as well as "dive-in" movies every night from 6pm in the pool showing various Disney / Pixar family friendly movies. Again, this is all slightly skewed to kids 4/5+, which was great for us, but perhaps a bit limited for truly little ones. There's also a full gym in the pool area for those looking to work out. There are three primary restaurants on the hotel: 1) On the rocks - the pool side bar, with solid if a little standard bar food options (burgers, salads, chicken tenders etc.) and a decent drinks and cocktail menu. 2) The Lakehouse - an excellent restaurant acting as the primary spot for both breakfast and dinner. For breakfast they offer buffet and a la carte. Buffet offered an great variety of fruits, cold cuts, pastries, cereals, as well as hot options including scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Plus there were stations serving fresh pancakes and omelets. 'd recommend going with an inclusive bed and breakfast option for ~$50 per night, as the breakfast is so good it will pay for itself (Adult hot buffet was $32 a person). For dinner they have different areas that serve sushi, which was surprisingly good, a pizza oven and then American a la carte dining. There was enough variety to keep a family of four well fed during our four night stay. 3) Four Flamingos - a Richard Blais restaurant, focused on seafood dishes with a creative twist. It's a fun, creative fine dining experience with a great cocktail list. I tried the rum burner, complete with a ginger infused smoke bubble, which was delicious and an experience in of itself. In terms of food, my wife and I shared a variety of smaller plates to try to get as wide an experience of the menu as possible. Stand-outs included the grilled octopus with mango kimchee, avocado & crab with black lime crust, the grouper ceviche and the pork belly with chili and kumquat. They also have a kids menu, and the ambience was very relaxed and family friendly. Definitely worth trying one night, although I'd argue it's a kind of "one and down" type of place, rather than eating their multiple nights like the Lakehouse. Sand Lake Rake is also approx. 10mins from the resort which is a nice residential area with plenty of good restaurants. All staff throughout the hotel, from check-in to restaurants to pool-side staff and those helping with activities were excellent. All were really friendly and welcoming, and genuinely went out of their way to help. The hotel felt like it was well-staffed throughout the resort, which sadly isn't as common as you'd like it to be, post-pandemic. Shuttles run throughout the day, to and from the various theme parks. There isn't a shuttle to the airport unfortunately, but it's a ~20min cab ride that cost ~$35 in an Uber / Lyft.

The grounds of this resort are beautiful but the overall experience was disappointing for the price. Pros: - The lake is beautiful and the walking trail is a really nice walk - The hotel is stunning with glass elevators that provide a great view of the lake and the lobby - The pool is huge with lots of activities available - There is a shower available after checkout so you can enjoy the pool before your flight - You can rent a car from Sixt right from the hotel lobby at reasonable prices - The TV in the bedroom is a good size and you can stream to it from your phone - Convenient location with a shuttle to the theme parks and Disney Springs Cons: - The bed is SO HARD. And the “king size” was definitely a queen. Maybe if you like very firm mattresses you’ll be fine, but we never slept well and woke up with aches every day - Overall the room felt like the average hotel room. Towels were hit or miss, some were soft and some were really rough - Fees, fees, fees! Almost $50 a night for parking! $50 daily resort fee! - The shuttle to the parks has a VERY limited schedule. Only one time to go to Universal or Disney Springs. And the hotel uses Fabulous Buses as the shuttle and the bus is crummy. Smells like gasoline and the brakes squeal. Big contrast with the hotel. - Food is expensive and not too good. $32 for the breakfast buffet! Entrees are generally $15 and aren’t that great. We did a lot of Uber eats and preferred eating out. Overall: For us, next time we’ll go to a cheaper hotel with free parking and use the (significant) extra money for eating out, getting a rental car every day, and going to more parks.

I stay at many hotels for work and vacation. In 2024, I see many issues with staff being professional. I stayed at this Hyatt for four nights to attend work meetings and a conference. Each staff person was exceptional, even Merlot, the lobby parrot. Nicely done, Hyatt. One added benefit is that I could see about three sets of fireworks from my room at night.

Longtime Hilton Honors people, we were unfamiliar with the Hyatt brand, but if this resort is indicative of normal Hyatt we will soon be converts. First of all, this was perhaps the best service, overall, we've received anywhere in the world, even at 5-diamond resorts. At every experience, the staff went above and beyond to please us. The housekeeper, after the first night, started leaving us three bottles of water instead of two because she was astute to notice that three people were staying in the room. Linda, of pool security, chatted us up like we were old friends. EVERY single interaction with staff at both front and back of house was positive. Also, the SPEED of service, especially in food and beverage ... yowza! Drinks ordered poolside appeared ALWAYS within five minutes. Food orders never took longer than 10 minutes, everywhere in the resort, and this was during a full-capacity Easter weekend. Also, who can't love the guest lounge with showers for peeps who need to check out but want to linger at the pool all day, awaiting a flight!? It was so nice being able to clean up before heading to the airport. We also were impressed by the large amount of natural land adjacent to the hotel, complete with hiking paths, and ancient oaks and cypress knees and little lakes and creeks. We were surprised to find this large of a natural space within the middle of Orlando metro.....but, alas, were saddened to hear that Hyatt had sold it all to another company for development. Staff told us the only thing Hyatt will own is the pool and hotel, which is a shame. Thank you, Hyatt Grand Cypress, for a great Easter weekend!
