Lovely location - nice breakfast. Old rooms - very small bathrooms - had to put down the toilet seat to take a shower (max 1x1 meter). Only lightning in the sleeping part was above the windows ;-). Would be a super hotel if refurbished!
It was a very good experince to be in this hotel, the resepsionist were very frindly and helpfull, when I asked for an extra pillow, they came inmediatly to my room with my extra pillows, i have booked 2 rooms, 1 had an extraordinary view to the fjord, and the other to the parking place, sad but the girl in reseption tried to give me another room with view, but she could not find because the hotel was almost full, anyway was a very good experience. breakfast bufett was very good !!! I highly recomend this hotel!!!
A friend of us, Hermann, made the reservation for the four us in advance. When we arrived we were treated like family, in big part thanks to Elizabeth at the front desk. It was an out of season visit with nobody else staying there at this time. It didn't matter. We were offered a huge cabin with two large bedrooms next to the hotel instead of two regular rooms. We did not expect to have breakfast included, but the very next morning Elizabeth was there with a big smile offering us a huge breakfast buffet, set up just for the four of us. Thank you again from France and Florida. We will be back!
The hotel itself is not very modern, but the great atmosphere and cleanliness compensates for that :) Lovely and helpful staff, great family dinner and breakfast, and amazing views. Greatly appreciated the dinner buffet with a healthy selection of foods, as well as very child-friendly. Lovely surroundings. Veranda and playground. Plenty of parking. Fantastic view. Only negative: he wifi didn't work as advertised. We will be back:) Thank you!
Upon arrival we found the front door of this hotel to be closed at 8pm. After travelling from Oslo Gardermoen for three hours, we also wished to eat something. No luck. Apparently we were the only residents of this 50+ room hotel. Someone came to help us after 15 minutes and gave us the keys to a villa just down the hill. He also directed us to the nearby camping site to the nearest restaurant that was opened. Unfortunately for us, we showed up close to 9pm and they had already closed. My room in the villa had a view of the lake, but was also right next to the railway. Woke up several times during the night when the train passed by. The poor start was covered by a very good breakfast. We also mentioned to the owner that we would wish to eat there in the evening. That was no problem and more people arrived during that day as well. The dinner was good, although we could not choose ourselves. The next night of our stay we were welcomed by two large groups of elderly bus travellers. The hotel was jam packed and the receptionist asked us if we were willing to move rooms for the last night. However we had already finished our business, so we were leaving a day early. The last dinner in the restaurant was again predetermined by the chef. It was good, but I prefer to choose myself.…
