TradeWinds is a place that kids will really enjoy, but will drive a parent nuts. For example, slow elevators, small balconies semi-icky interiors. The staff has no idea what's going on. Not horrible, just mediocre for the price. The resort is enormous and confusing. Lots...More
We have been coming here since 2004, and have never been disappointed. The beach front is gorgeous and they have PLENTY. The rooms and beds are comfortable, the hotel works very well with conferences to provide good rates for a beachfront hotel, and the resort...More

We booked three one bedroom gulf view suites for a family vacation. The first issue was the rude valet attendant when my son-in-law was trying to ask where he should park. At check in, Bluegreen Vacations immediately goes into their sales pitch.

There usually are lots of holiday-themed activities, but check out the website. I do know there are parasailing, bogie boards, stand-up-paddle boards, many excursions available. The beach has volleyball courts set up. Nearby: aquarium, Busch Gardens (both in Tampa), museums, putt-putt. I don't have a teen, but am sure there is plenty to do! Every night there is music and s'mores outside, usually at Guy Harvey's next door.

I agree with what everyone else said. Just keep an eye on your small kids. The resort is huge and I got lost in the dark the first night and couldn't find our room for 45 minutes ( and I'm a seasoned adult!)! Kids could get lost very easily. Maybe you pick a place on the beach that they can go if they get lost and you will know to go there and find them. I lost my 5 year old in a resort like this and it took 45 minutes to find him. He was fine and with an employee when I found him but it was 45 terrifying minutes for both of us!!!
