Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bad timing -- construction in the rear and heavy traffic in the front. Our room had not been sufficiently cleaned or fumigated. HOWEVER staff -- especially manager Marcus, was absolutely fabulous -- understanding and willing to release our reservations and make good on the difficulties. Another time and situation this would be a hotel to consider.

Amazing location, awesome hotel staff, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The suites are huge and have a beautiful view. Everything you need is within a mile. The beach is tight across the street with a trail. You can rent bikes right down the street. Johns pass is right over the bridge with all the water activities you can think of. We saw dolphins on the dolphin watch cruise. Just the best location for a vacation period. And the pool and hottub were fabulous 👌

As noted previously your car will be towed . We were told we could park in guest spots or one of manager spots We had our car Friday to Saturday in guest spots On Saturday we left the property for a short period upon return we parked in the mgr spot .The weekend manager on duty gave my husband a difficult time and he responded that was where we are told to park . He later moved backed to an open guest spot to relieve the tension of where was the weekend personnel to park They clearly knew us and our car We woke up Sunday to no car We were not offered a second parking pass when I explained to the front desk personnel that my son would be joining us and using the issues pass and wanted to be sure of where we could park Went to the site of where the car was towed which has very sketchy people come out of a house ,not a safe site as well . We had my sons wedding guests occupy the hotel nine years ago -it has significantly declined Furniture ripped and marked up tables . Porch furniture broken -accident waiting to happen . Unfortunately we returned to a terrible experience at a place that held great memories Provident has a lot to do to turn this place around if they want this to reflect their brand

Thanks for staying with us here at the Crystal Palms Beach resort. We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback and the scores you awarded us. We have taken steps to improve the condition of the room you were in. We have in the past increased the number of towing signs on property from 8 to 11 and have added color to the towing policy that we give each guest at check-in. The signs that are posted at all driveway entrances were adjusted to ensure all guests could see them and we have placed new shields on the signs on all the existing signs on entry doors and in the elevator. We have also trained our Guest Service agent to inform guests at check-in of our parking policy and to ensure each guest understands that every car on property needs a pass. Here on the beach, we do have an issue with illegal parking in our limited parking lot. As we have extremely limited parking in our lot, we do ask that out towing company monitor the property. The Tow company has multiple drivers, and they are not required to remember each vehicle. As long as the guest has a parking pass in their car with a current expiration date, they will not be towed. We do expect each guest to take personal responsibility for following the policies and instructions given to them. This is outlined on the posted signs and on the policy given to the guest at check in. We did take time to review the camera, listen to the conversation between you and the Guest service agent and review the photos of your car that were taken by the tow company. Your vehicle did not have a guest pass and it was blocking the vehicle in the handicapped space. As a result, the Tow company removed the vehicle from the property. We strive to make each guest experience a good one. We hope that you will return in the future, and we look forward to seeing you again.

I sent an email and called Provident the company that manages the Crystal Palms and never received a a response. A group of us stayed at the Crystal Palms Condos in Treasure Island from 6/9/2023 to 6/20/2023. Our entire trip was ruined by your towing polices. Upon arrival on 6/9 we were greeted by the front desk person. I believe her name was Kaylie. She gave us a pass to put in our car window but did not make that big a deal about it. With all the hustle and bustle of checking in, we forgot to put the pass in the front window. We were all hungry and wanted to get some dinner. Within an hour my car was towed. When we came back we asked Kaylie what happened she immediately took a defensive posture. Knowing what we know now it is understandable as this is a common practice of your establishment. Instead of being understanding she became defensive and basically said “I told you this would happen. “ I can assure you she was not that clear about it. Regardless this is no way to treat one of your guests. You can think it, but you should never say it. We were all very irritated and expressed how upset we were. We never used profanity or disrespected Kaylie in any way. We let Kaylie know that this was no way to treat a guest and that we would all be sharing our experience on Google and other social media platforms. Kaylie escalated the situation by informing us that everything thing is being recorded, threatened to call the police, and kick us off the property. At this point we were beside ourselves. I told her to go ahead and call the police we were not doing anything illegal, unless asking for good customer service is now a crime. We are all professionals and mostly locals. Since threatening us with police involvement did not seem to phase us, she then proceeded to tell me that she has two kids at home and this was her day off. As if this had anything to do with our situation. I asked her for a supervisor’s number. I made a call to the number she provided. The person on the phone was extremely rude and short with me. I asked him how he could possibly speak to a guest this way. I came to find out that Kaylie did not give me a supervisor, but the tow truck company. The man on the phone, who is also the owner of the tow company, told me I can pick up my truck anytime. It was late so we decide to go the next morning. Upon arrival to Frist choice Towing I was informed that they only take cash. He then proceeds to tell me that the ATM is not working. To add insult to injury he then tells me it will be an additional 37.00 for overnight. All of this should have been explained to me on the phone, but he chose not to. I wonder why. That evening alone four other cars were towed that belonged to guests. This is quite a racket you have going. I understand you have people going to the beach parking illegally on your property. It was eight o’clock at night and there were empty spaces everywhere. Kylie claims she tried to call the room. She had our cell phone numbers why did she not try that? In addition, there was a bunch of us, she watched us leave for dinner. It was not busy at all so I do not know how she did not remember or just does not care. I am sure If we owed you money you would have called our cell. Another guest told me my car was towed in less than two minutes and that he watched more cars being towed. We rented four rooms via VRBO. We contacted all the owners and they all said that the towing is a big problem. We also feel that either the hotel or some of it’s employees are in on the scam and getting kick backs. The precision, timing, and frequency leads me to believe this. At this rate First Choice is probably making 1K per day or more just from the Crystal Palms. If this is how want to treat your guests at least hire a company that is going to be professional. For the record, your manager was not very helpful either. The basic attitude is “we told you so.” Regardless you ruined our weekend and it cost me 285.00 and lots of wasted time and aggravation. Your staff needs some hospitality 101 training. There were almost twenty people in our group and we all witnessed what happened. It will not go unnoticed.

Absolutely filthy!!!! Lights didn’t work. We parked in our site and they towed our car away as well as other people staying at the property! Our car was towed to a shady cash only place and we had to Uber to get there and they were very threatening and violent!!!!! Had to pay $270 to get our car back. Resort doesn’t take your car information or license plate and we were told they tow all the time and apparently are getting a kickback for towing to a cash only place that according to city hall first class towing is not even a registered business. The manager gave people of his own color a ride to the towing place but refused to give us a ride and we had to Uber there. I got my attorney involved then they threw us out because they knew we were aware of all of their illegal activity! What resort doesn’t take make, model and license plate of cars????? This place is dirty, hair on sheets, dirt on floor, dirty upholstery and they tow your car away even when you park in your required spot!!!!! Do not stay here. The place is managed by a criminal!!!$
