The Molloy is the perfect Florida experience. This family-owned and operated resort is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico in beautiful Treasure Island, and offers hospitality seldom found anymore. We know how expensive vacationing with a family is so we don't charge any resort or extra guest fees. In addition, our suites come with a full kitchen so you can prepare your own meals if you choose. Sunrise-sunset, you'll enjoy them both at the Molloy. The Molloy features a sparkling heated pool in the center courtyard, where the shade trees beckon just beyond in the white sand. Grab a towel and stroll down to the shore, you'll never want to leave. The atmosphere at the Molloy is very comfortable and family oriented. Once guests find this treasure on the beach, they come back year after year!

We traveled as a couple in our 30s to St Pete just got a weekend. The Molloy was everything we hoped for. It’s small (20 rooms) and family owned, and the staff are always helpful and nice. It sits right on the beach, but also has its own clean and sandy courtyard with loungers, hammocks and umbrellas.

We booked the most basic room at the resort. Our room was clean and updated. The bathroom seemed to have missed the renovation, the sink/tub and faucets were ancient, but clean and functional. I will say, however, that the floor wasn’t swept before our arrival BUT there is a broom in the closet so I took the 2 minutes and swept it myself. There isn’t a maid service so that came in handy all weekend. The towels get switched out based on a “basket outside the door” system. Which is fine. Save the water and energy. There’s a hairdryer, but only one small mirror in the whole room so be prepared to share. The room was stocked with all the amenities, including a large fridge, microwave, plates/bowls/cups/silverware, paper towels, ice cube trays, dish soap/dish towels. Entry to the room is with a keypad so there’s no room keys to deal with.

Other things to note:
The resort was quiet while we were there. We rarely even saw other hotel guests.
The pool is always at 85 degrees which was perfect as it’s “chilly” in the winter but can still get wet without freezing.
On site grills with utensils that you can get from the front desk.
Very comfortable beds and pillows
Access to their washers/dryers (during certain times)
Publix is .3 miles down the road so you can walk down and get your groceries for the week. The city of treasure island is about a half mile down the road with some good bars and restaurants.
The public bus system runs up and down gulf Blvd (and can connect to take you to Clearwater or st Pete) and it’s $5 for a day pass.

After checkout if you wanted to hangout for a little while, they will hold your bags for you.

I’m VERY happy we booked this resort. We don’t tend to do the same things twice in terms or traveling but we agreed we would definitely do this itinerary again for a quick weekend get away.

Yet another amazing stay at The Molloy! We have stayed here several times for small getaways and each time seems to be better than the last. The staff is absolutely incredible and always remembers our names, and little things about us. The rooms are clean and very roomy. There were four adults in this trip and we had PLENTY of room to stretch out and not be all over each other. The beach is beautiful and since The Molloy is a little ways down from the public beach entrance you don't have a lot of other people sharing it with you. The pool is heted to a wonderful 85 degrees, so even though it was chilly, we all still got into the pool in the evening and had a wonderful swim! We always use the BBQ pit that is available, and it is always in perfect working order with full propane and a backup in case we use it all up during our stay!!! I would highly recommend staying at The Molloy!!

We rented the 2 cottages off to the side. They say fully stocked kitchen and I disagree. Cooking utensils are sparse, bare minimum for a pot or pan. They should really just go to dollar store and fill these units up well with items like that. It was odd to have to ask for a trash bag as you’re only given what you use at a time. Same for dishwashing soap, towels etc . We were provided what we needed when we asked but kind of a pain and not sure I understand why they can’t just stock items better. Shared amenities but when you get these 2 cabins most people won’t be hanging at the table or chairs near them. Overall a fantastic place. Appeared to be clean but I feel as tho in between guests they could use a mop and wipe down better. NO BUG issues which is great when you come from a place where cockroaches are not a thing. For the money it feels like you’re “roughing it” a bit with the sparse stocking but we LOVED it and WILL stay again. ALSO, I think this place will only get better as I overheard some talk of Renovations. They have really fixed these units up already.

This was a short trip for me, as me and my family came from Tampa. We made the trip to see other family members visiting from out of state, and to spend Father’s Day with my children and my Father.
Me and my family make this trip every year. As far as OLD Florida beach hotels go on Treasure Island, this one is one of the nicest. Especially for the price. Considering comparable places were charging extra, or even double the amount to stay this holiday weekend.
The staff was nice and very accommodating, and The rooms were as clean as could be expected (considering age of facility and near beach).

Additionally, there were no homeless people sitting right outside your room, near the beach access. Or no heavy pedestrian traffic, on the beach side pedestrian walkway, like you have on the north end. Speaking of beach access, the walk to the beach and to the water is not far at all, even at low tide.

On Father’s Day, we decided to grill out. Two gas grills and the grilling utensils are available on site. Everything was clean and the tanks were full.

The pool at a beach resort is a must!!!! Normally, you go to the beach all morning, and after lunch, you come back and spend the remainder of the day at the pool. Especially when you have kids. Being that you’re at the beach one would assume that you would get shells and sand in the pool. What is nice about this pool is that it’s not overcrowded like it is at other places on Treasure Island. I will take a little bit of sand and a few shells on the bottom of the pool, if that means that I don’t have to dodge 80 other tourists, who are using the same overcrowded pool.

The only issue we had the entire weekend, was water dripping out from the shower stall and into the bedroom. Some might find this alarming, and others will find this helpful, but all you need to do is put a towel down and absorb the water.

In closing , I would like to say how happy I am with our stay at The Malloy, and we will most definitely choose to stay there again.

Small resort. We had the one bedroom Pool/Gulf View which was on second floor overlooking heated pool and gulf view if you looked to the right after out of room on walkway in front of unit. One bathroom, a few small shampoos and soaps, nice towels & pool towels provided . No hair dryer. Two queen beds, lots of pillows and fluffy comforters. Bed mattress comfy and dresser. Living room with sofa bed , wall mounted TV, small round dining type table with two chairs. Dish ware sufficient, minimum silverware, no sharp knives but one. No cookie or cake pans. Large fry pan, small sauce pan, large sauce pan, pasta drainer, wine opener. No can opener. Small dish liquid soap. Starter for two 8 cups coffee and coffee maker, supply of coffee filters and Toaster. Microwave. Stove/oven. Nice large fridge. Corn hole games, hammocks, shuffleboard and lots of lounge chairs that can be carried for the short walk to beach . Need to bring back chairs when done. Gas grill provided but only one so need to time it right. Nice sunrises and sunsets, Parking limited, if you don't get there early to get one you have to park across the street from the hotel. Host very nice, as are the other staff. If you need anything they will try best to help. To get towel exchange, put in large basket in unit and put outside door in morning and they will replace with clean. Lots of children and families here so if you want quiet and romantic you may look into something else. Overall, price is right, beach right there.

My sister and niece came to visit so I looked for a place on the beach. After reading the reviews I booked 2 nights at the Molloy. What a pleasant surprise!!
The property is clean and well maintained. The pool was heated and great for relaxing after the beach. Beach towels were provided in the room. We booked the gulf front cottage that sleeps 5. It was very clean and had all amenities we needed. Beds were comfortable. The air conditioner kept us cool. There is a full sized fridge, coffee maker, microwave and enough dishes for what we needed. Dish soap and kitchen, towel and washcloth provided. Living room had a pull out couch, a table with two chairs and a side chair. There was a broom and dustpan which was great because a lot of sand comes in from the beach.
The location is the best. Right on the beach, just a short walk from the room. The bigger hotels are far enough away that it didn’t feel crowded on the beach. Great for watching the sunset. There are a lot of things to do in the area. We went to the Manatee viewing center, John’s Pass( saw lots of dolphins), and just driving up the coast. Lots of restaurants nearby. I would definitely return!!

We loved everything about our stay here. Location, pool, beach access, communication, all top notch. Towels were replaced as requested by leaving them outside your door and additional cleaning available upon request. Beach towel and loungers provided which is great as we flew in. This is an old Florida kind of place, and old Florida means post-war 1950s, since Florida is not very old. Lots of charm, lots of character. We really enjoyed the feeling that came from being at a local place and not a big resort or corporate place.

More than enough beach space, and the pool is never crowded. Publix is less than 1/4 mile away, and I would walk there daily. We often used the grill area, and would borrow chairs and an umbrella to take to the beach. Free laundry, bring detergent, but there is often some laying around from other guests.

BRING A POWER STRIP. There is a serious lack of receptacles in the rooms. Remember when it was built.

We have been there the last two years over Easter Break, and will likely make it a tradition.

We stay at the Molloy every trip! This year it was even more updated than the last, they are working very hard on this little gem! The staff is very nice, especially Hari! She is an asset to the Molloy!! The new management is just ok, but I love the fact that it is still owned by the original family!! The Molloy is An adorable, spacious room, steps away from the beach, who still Keeps prices affordable! Which we hope continues after more renovations 🤞. The only two things I would suggest, is deeper clean once in a while (fans, baseboards, etc) and comfier mattresses.. But those things are not enough to make me ever go elsewhere! I'd buy this place if they ever sold!! We love it!!!

This was our 3rd visit in as many years, and we LOVE this place. The staff here - amazing. They are kind and helpful, give you your space and privacy, but are always near enough if you need anything. They go above and beyond. We booked the 2 bedroom suite next to the pool and had no noise issues at all while sleeping in our rooms. The hotel pool closes at dusk, so it was quiet at night while we were there. The location can not be beat. You're on the beach. You can lounge on their sand property or the beach. Publix grocery store is about a half mile away. My favorite shell/souvenir shop is less than half a mile away. Surf Style store is a short walk as well. You can stay here without a car and be totally fine. The pool area is gorgeous, and the landscaping is beautiful. There is laundry on site that you can use from 9-11pm and 7-9am. I brought my own laundry soap. It's a small motel/hotel that feels like a million bucks!

The cottages are off to the side of the motel rooms. Honestly, even if you stayed in the motel rooms, you would adequately socially distance. They are not jam packed together and there is plenty of room between rooms. The beach is really never crowded. I have stayed during all different times of the year, and because there isn't a public beach with parking and all that, the beach stays relatively quiet and only the people staying at the hotels nearby and the Molloy are really out there. There are plenty of chairs and places to sit and relax - they are all moveable, so if you see a group too close, you can always move. Even when they were booked, the place is not high traffic. :) Its a lovely place.
