Karla was a great waitress, the food was good, the lodge is gorgeous. Updates are being done to make the lodge more comfortable. The rooms are old fashioned and the bathrooms are pure marble. The shower faucets are a little weird but hot water is plentiful.

Somewhat dated but comfortable and very clean. Beautiful old lodge, spacious and interesting. Lighting barely sufficient? The check-in with Justine was efficient and very friendly. She behaved as a true caring hostess throughout the evening. Checkout with another woman the next morning was handled carelessly and almost rudely.

The lodge is very nice in appearance. When we arrived there was a wedding going on so some of the doorways were blocked, but it was not a big deal to get around. The entry room was very large and had a dining area to the left and a gift shop/ice cream-soda fountain bar to the right. The room we got...

For my husbands 70th birthday I booked a stay at the Wakulla Springs Lodge. He wanted to go on a guided bicycle ride to Hidden Springs the next day so we stayed in the beautiful lodge built by Ed Ball in 1937. It was a delightful step back in time. The Florida State Park system has maintained the Lodge as...

The lodge has no TV in the rooms. There is one in the lobby and the movie Creature from the Black Lagoon can be viewed as it was filmed there along with other classic films, such as Tarzan and Airplane. I love stepping back in time and experiencing the amazing decor. Feels like you are in a Casablanca movie. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lodge at Wakulla Springs is located in the Wakulla Springs State Park near historic Tallahassee, Florida. Considered a Florida architectural landmark the Lodge has been on the grounds since 1937 and is featured, along with the nearly 6,000 acre park and river, on the National Register of Historic Places. Surrounded by canopies of oak, hickory, and beech trees, the natural springs, and Florida wildlife, the Lodge offers an old southern feel and a peaceful getaway for family vacations and reunions, weddings anniversaries, conferences, and other special events. The Lodge also is a perfect retreat for artists, writers, or those that just want to get away from it all. Guests will be inspired by nature's beauty and serenity inside of any one of the 27 guest rooms which overlook the springs, park, and courtyard. In keeping with the Lodge atmosphere there are no televisions in the rooms. ... more   less
