We visited the Greyfeild Inn with good friends and had the most amazing weekend. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda, going to the beach, biking around the island and enjoying the delicious food. Everything was fantastic.

Perfect day trip to explore a little of the island! We took the Lucy Ferguson boat from Fernandina Beach harbor, just outside the Hampton Inn Suites in the historic district. We were given a tour of the inn, which was full of history. We fully enjoyed our picnic lunch at the beach, which was totally secluded. The bike riding was...

All I can say is I've stayed at places that pretend to be five star but this truly is a top notch experience. It was like stepping into another place and time, and that's exactly what I wanted. No internet. No TV. No noise except the sounds of lively conversation and nature. When we arrived we took a tour of...

Great time of relaxing, making new friends, enjoying nature and each other. It is definitely like a different world. It is much like a cruise with timed meals but we enjoyed it more than words. The only one thing we had an issue with was the kayaks. They are stored on the dock so it makes it a little difficult...

Hi! We went for a long weekend with our 12 year old son who has traveled all over the world with us- he was a good sport. It's a 45 minute ferry ride to get there. There is NO pool and the beach is a long walk away. They do have towels to take with you and you do have...

Never have I stayed in a more friendly and welcoming place. Everyone was smiling and eager to please. We hiked, rode bikes, and climbed trees like 12 year olds. The island is magical! Bald Eagles, alligators, wild horses, deer, armadillos, all kinds of birds including a stork, the wildlife was endless. We found huge sea shells and fossilized shark teeth....

Cumberland Island is the perfect place to totally escape and unplug. This destination is like none I have ever visited. The 45 minute boat ride to the island is the beginning of a very different way of life. The front porch offers a beautiful place to enjoy the view and relax with a beverage. We enjoyed the wide, private beach...

As we were waiting to board the ferry back to Amelia Island, my brother-in-law said to me, "It already seems like a dream!" I can't tell you how thankful I am that this Carnegie/Ferguson family has opened their home and their Island to visitors. What a dream come true, to experience the pristine quiet, the bird songs, the ancient trees,...

Greyfield Inn is out of the way and that's a great reason to visit. The boat ride to/from the Inn and the National Seashore was an enjoyable part of the journey. Our room was on the top floor with a high four-poster bed (step provided). The meals were delicious and our fellow travelers were very social. Bicycle rides, naturalist tours...
