extremely friendly, knowledgeable, the bunks are comfortable, the containers are FANTASTIC, plus they saved us arranging a shuttle to pick us up super last minute when we realized we had left the keys of our car behind. plus me being and Ultrarunner and Josh being the Race Director to one of the toughest 100 mile races, just made me even... We stayed at the Hiker Hostel in February 2015 on our fifth day on the trail as my son and I, and our hiking buddy Kevin (Silverback) were heading north on our AT through hike. Josh and Leigh were fantastic. Very accommodating to hiker's needs. This was our first hostel stop after having spent the first five days camping in... More

I stayed at the hiker hostel for a little over a week while taking a wilderness first responder course. The accommodations were very clean and the breakfast was really good! I recommend the Hiker Hostel if you're staying one night or 9. Laundry was easy and convenient. Leigh and Josh are friendly and always good for some conversation.

The shipping container cabin was decorated so rustic and the view outside sliding glass door amazing. Our hosts Josh and Leigh were so friendly and informative. And the breakfast they provided was amazing. I loved the local hiking, wineries and town. This was my first visit and I plan to keep going back.

I stayed for 9 days attending a class. I was in a private room in the main hostel. It was very clean and comfortable. The owners were accommodating and helpful. They cooked a breakfast each morning that was much better than any hotel breakfast (fresh gathered eggs, grits, oatmeal, ect). I would come back here with my wife to explore... More

....we were impressed with just about everything; good food, excellent location to the Gaps, and the curest Tiny Cabin designed and built by Josh. A bit of heaven in the Georgia Mountains. A place we will run to for years to come. Cycling to the mountains was less than 5 miles, since we planned on cycling everyday, this made it... More

Recently spent four days at HH while day hiking the AT. The property is well kept with a warm home like atmosphere. There is large outdoor deck enveloped by green trees. The owners are are highly knowledgable (skilled) regarding the local area and the AT. Leigh and Josh are hands-ons and present owners. Meals are hot, hardy and delicious. The... More
