We also booked to stay in March, but then lockdown happened. I have telephoned many times and everyone has been "helpful" I last telephoned in October and decided to phone again today. The number I have and have used in the past is not ringing, just giving the unobtainable sound. Checked the website but that is not available either!!!
So pleased to see we aren’t the only ones who have been turned over by this hotel. We bought a Travelzoo voucher in January and booked to stay in March, but this was affected by Covid. We rebooked for end of April but was then told it wouldn’t be open. We have heard nothin from them since. I managed to speak with someone called Sid about 6 weeks ago who told me they were closed until 2021 for refurbishment. I asked for a refund and he said he would send it but might be 30 days. Have heard nothing since. I have spoken to Travelzoo who have also tried to contact them on my behalf but said they weren’t answering the phone or responding to their communications. The original voucher was non refundable, but as they then terminated the contract when they cancelled it should have then been refunded. Customer service is nil, Robbers and cheats. Please be aware if you book here, you will won’t get the break you wanted and you won’t see your money again. Travelzoo need to be very careful advertising this hotel in future…
We originally booked to stay here in March, this was cancelled due to Covid 19. At that time we accepted a credit to rebook at a later date. We rebooked for September. 2 days before we were due to arrive, we had a call to say they were cancelling the reservation as they were closed for renovation. This on further probing turned out to be a lie and in fact they had not reopened at all. I asked for a refund, which I was told would be paid back. This has not happened. Do not book here if you have to prepay. You will not be refunded.
Our visit was cancelled due to coronavirus.We were promised a refund; we paid in January 2020, no sign of a refund to date - September. Our money is certainly giving this hotel interest. Hotel hasn't bothered to contact us, all the chasing has been done by us. Although I have said we travelled in April 2020, in fact the hotel was closed so we couldn't. I've reached the conclusion that they won't refund us what is rightfully ours and they simply don't care.
Having recently returned from Madeira in a 'continental " rated 5 star hotel it was a pleasure to be in a genuinely rated 3 star hotel and at sensible prices. Firstly the staff, it is a long time since I have stayed anywhere without having a single word of criticism. The lady on reception on our arrival,no name tag but we arrived at around 4 pm on Wednesday 18th March and she was on duty at 8am the following day when we left . Nothing was too much trouble for her, thank you so much. Sadly the hotel had many cancellations so we were 2 of about 10 other guests. The food served in the bar was well cooked and well presented by a really pleasant young lady who was also doing the bar. Breakfast was superb, plenty to eat and even served by the chef who was also polite and cheerful. The room was a little tired but comparable to some of the so called 5 star hotels on the continent . Recommended.…
